Zack Snyder: Watchmen may have only just crossed $100 million domestically, but the film's underwhelming box office doesn't seem to have diluted Warner Bros.' faith in director Zack Snyder ( 300 ). The studio has already signed on to distribute his next movie: Sucker Punch . "All the studio has ever said to me is, 'We are proud of Watchmen , we think it's awesome and we stand behind it,'" Snyder tells EW.com "They've never said, 'Ahh, it could have been shorter,' or, 'Too bad it's so R-ish.

'Sherlock Holmes' Trailer At Showest: \"Wacky,\" Mindless And As If Zack Snyder Made It?
Apparently The Accents Are Terrible TooIs "Sherlock Holmes" going to be Zack Snyder's version of the famous detective only done by a Brit (Guy Ritchie) who will likely be tied and feathered by the entire U.K. for American-izing Sherlock and Watson by infusing it slo-mo action and Laurel and Hardy-esque wacky buffoonery? By the sounds of it, yes.Twitter has lit up with reports from the first "Sherlock Holmes" trailer shown just minutes ago at ShowWest in Vegas and a lot of the writers seem...

Zack Snyder's 'Sucker Punch' Gets a New Lead
Losing your lead actress might daunt some directors, but not Zack Snyder. Snyder doesn't sleep, he waits -- and he already has a replacement for Amanda Seyfried. Entertainment Weekly reports that Emily Browning will take on the role of Baby Doll in Snyder's upcoming Sucker Punch. You probably best remember the Australian-born Browning as the young Angelina Jolie lookalike in A Series of Unfortunate Events -- and if you're a guy, you've probably been counting the days for her to grow up, which...

Is Warner Brothers Really Giving Zack Snyder Another $100 Million?
We have to wonder if Warner Brothers is having a bit of buyers remorse on Sucker Punch , the next film from “visionary director” Zack Snyder. Even before Watchmen was released, it seemed like a dicey proposition for the studio to get behind: an R-rated, $100 million, 1950s-set action film that Mr. Snyder has described as “ Alice in Wonderland with machine guns.” Alrighty, then! About the only thing Sucker Punch had going for it was the cast, a group of up-and-coming actresses...

It was the role that had been offered to Mamma Mia! star, Amanda Seyfried. No word on what happened with Seyfried, but her loss may well be Browning's gain. The 20 year-old, who

Emily Browning Ready to Punch In
We're just as surprised as you are that Warner Bros. is still planning on giving Zack Snyder $100 million to make his "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns" opus, Sucker Punch. According to EW, Snyder will now be filling the film's lead role, once held by Big Love's Amanda Seyfried, with 20-year-old Australian actress Emily Browning (The Unborn; that Lemony Snicket film). Unfortunately, though, there's still no word as to how many digital wangs Snyder will be including in this film. [Hollywood...

Zac Efron, ‘Transformers,’ ‘Twilight’ & More At ShoWest 2009
The cabbie who drove me to the hotel kept making fun of Ashton Kutcher. My room at Planet Hollywood is themed around Dolph Lundgren’s 1987 clunker “Masters of the Universe.” This afternoon, I browsed concession booths pitching Dipping Dots, White Castle Jalapeno Cheeseburgers, and more variations on nachos and popcorn than I thought humanly possible. I might be in Nevada, but it sure feels like I’m still in LA. Welcome to ShoWest, the annual convention in Las Vegas where...

Emily Browning Leads PUNCH
Out with Amanda Seyfried and In with Emily Browning . According to Hollywood Insider , Browning will be the lead star in Zack Snyder ’s upcoming project SUCKER PUNCH . I’m not sure yet if Browning is a worthy replacement. If you’ve been watching the series Big Love religiously like me, you’d know that Seyfried is quite a talent for her age. Unfortunately her commitment to that series was what kept him from being in SUCKER PUNCH . Browning, on the other hand was in ...

THE NEW STAR OF SUCKER PUNCH WAS NOT UNINVITED
has signed on to replace Amanda Seyfried as a young girl in an insane asylum who imagines a violent break out. I think Browning has the right look to play hot and crazy; I'm curious to see how she masters the physicality that Snyder is going to demand. There were some wags who thought that Seyfried dropping out killed Sucker Punch ; the reasoning was that post- Watchmen Snyder's 100 million dollar R-rated action film would be kayoed quietly without a lead. I'm glad to see that's not the
