Wyclef Jean Helps Haiti Through New Initiative
Haitian-born musician Wyclef Jean has launched an initiative named “Together for Haiti,” which aims to help the impoverished country by providing food, creating jobs and supporting local agriculture.
Wyclef Jean held a news conference in Manhattan on Monday, May 20, to announce the creation of “Together for Haiti,” described on the singer’s official website as an “emergency allegiance for food crisis relief.”
The initiative is backed by the World Food Program, the Pan American Developmen

Last night the LOULOU party in question that I attended was a Sony BMG event. It was held at the stylish W Studio which had been dressed up as a lounge/club for the evening. Former Fugee and star-in-his-own-right Wyclef Jean sauntered into the lounge around 7:10pm. He was inconspicuous at first (well as can be) except for the deep burgundy and gold satin track suit (think Vegas boxer gear). He was mingling with the peeps and posing for photos. Jeweller sues rap star Wyclef Jean
The company founded by the New York businessman known to rappers as "Jacob the Jeweller" is suing Wyclef Jean, claiming he owes money for watches and jewellery he bought.
Jacob & Co Inc says in Manhattan court papers filed on Tuesday that the hip hop musician bought several items between March 2002 and January 2006 for 765,100 US dollars (£385,892).
The company says Jean still owes 319,680 dollars (£161,236) despite "repeated demands for payment".
