Out doing press for Spike Lee’s “Miracle at St. Anna”, actor Derek Luke let slip an interesting casting rumor he heard on the grapevine.
“I heard they offered Will Smith ‘Captain America’…just shows you how times have changed” the young thesp told MTV News. Luke himself said he is keen on certain roles - “I would love to jump into Green Lantern. There are a lot of stories I’m into… [like] Black Panther.”

Rapper/actor Will Smith Will reportedly star in an upcoming flick titled The Last Pharaoh.
According to Daily Variety, Smith Will play 'Taharqa', the pharaoh who battled Assyrian invaders starting around 677 B.C.
The movie was written by Braveheart author Randall Wallace. A production date for the movie was not announced.

Yesterday, Derek Luke was quoted as saying that he heard that Will Smith was offered the role of Captain America by Marvel Entertainment. Thankfully, AICN quickly debunked this report. Marvel claims that they never entertained Smith as a choice, never mind had a conversation or approached Smith for the role. So now that the rumor is officially killed, who do you want Marvel to cast as the Cap?
