Bullshit Movie Rumor: Will Smith as Captain America (OFFICIALLY DEBUNKED)
Derek Luke is an actor who is “hearing” things that aren’t true. Either that, or he’s listening to fans of Will Smith who have never read the comic books, and couldn’t possibly “get” that yeah, even Hollywood wouldn’t dare turn Captain America, aka Steve Rogers, into a black guy and let Will Smith play him. Because, frankly, it worked so well when they let Smith played Jim West in the big-screen version of “The Wild Wild West”. Yes, that’s ri

Will Smith Is Not Captain America (Probably)
Ladies and gentlemen, you can put off the awkward self-examination of your racism for another day, as AICN talked to Marvel, and Marvel denies offering Smith the role of Captain America, or even talking to Smith. Shockingly, it may be true that Derek Luke—the actor we'd never heard of—is not the Hollywood know-it-all he might believe himself to be. At any rate, I'm proud to have done my part to pass this goofy rumor throughout the nerdernet.
