Oscar Snub Leaves Whoopi Sad
Whoopi Goldberg seemed sad and choked up on "The View" Monday when her fellow co-hosts discussed how she was not included in a montage featuring Oscar hosts during the Academy Awards telecast.
The 52-year-old Goldberg has received two Oscar nominations, winning for her role as Oda Mae Brown in 1990's "Ghost." She hosted the event in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2002. She did, however, appear as an Oscar winner in a separate montage Sunday night.

Doing 'The View' with my sisters!
Just yesterday, Kourtney, Khloe and I did The View! I recently appeared on the infamously opinionated talk show with Bruce, you may recall. But this time it was especially fun to appear with my sisters!
Barbara Walters is the sweetest person ever! She was friends with my dad and I really think she is such a smart woman!
Elizabeth Hasselbeck is sweet as pie and tiny! She just had another baby, but you wouldn't know it by looking at her!
I met View host Sherri Shepherd for the first time. She

Oscars to Whoopi: We're Sorry
Whoopi Goldberg's omission from an Oscar montage – perceived by her and others to be a slight that left the View host in tears – was "an absolute oversight," the award show's producer tells PEOPLE.
"No harm was intended, and I feel very, very badly that she was left out," Gil Cates said Tuesday. "I'm going to call her and tell her that."
Although described as a montage of hosts, the piece shown at Sunday night's telecast on ABC was actually "supposed to be a montage of 80 exciting moments of the

A promised phone call of apology came from the producer of the Oscars to Whoopi Goldberg, after Sunday night's telecast neglected her during a montage highlighting hosts from past ceremonies, Goldberg said on Wednesday's The View.

On Tuesday, Cates told PEOPLE about the gaffe: "No harm was intended, and I feel very, very badly that she was left out. I'm going to call her and tell her that.

In the new issue of black Christian women's magazine Precious Times, The View's Sherri Shepherd reveals that her life was once so rough she didn't care if she died.
"My sister was heavy into drugs, and we would have to go and get her from crack houses," Shepherd, 41, says.
At the time, the stand-up comic — then a Jehovah's Witness – was "in a very physically abusive relationship," she said. "I was sleeping with a lot of guys and had more abortions than I would like to count."
She said her self-

Nude Bruni photo sells for $91,000 in NY auction
A nude photo of French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, standing in a pigeon-toed pose and covering her modesty with her hands, was sold on Thursday in New York for $91,000, more than 20 times its expected price.
A buyer for a Chinese art collector bought the black-and-white image, taken by photographer Michel Comte in 1993 during her modeling days, Christie's auction house said.
The sale of the photo has attracted attention since Bruni married French President Nicolas Sarkozy in February.

Cleese and Schiff talk politics
An anti-Bush tirade from Whoopi Goldberg laced with profanity might have hurt John Kerry's presidential candidacy four years ago. More recently, George Clooney said he'll support Barack Obama any way he can, even if it means keeping his distance.
These are just a few examples that have left politically minded celebrities conflicted about their role in choosing the next U.S. president, and it was recently up to an unlikely pair of actors to sort it all out: comedian John Cleese and Richard Schiff of "The
The supermodel who wowed a president
Presidents get married to respectable women, have children and lead a low-key, non-controversial life. Or so we thought until Super Sarko aka Nicolas Sarkozy aka the French president burst on the scene. He divorced his second wife while in office, hooked up with Italian-French supermodel-turned-singer Carla Bruni couple of months later, and is now scandalising nations by travelling with her on official tours.
But while Saudi Arabia firmly asked President Sarkozy, 52, not to bring his girlfriend along on
France's first lady compares self to Jackie Kennedy
Just months after his May 2007 election, French president Nicolas Sarkozy faced growing criticism over his stalled reforms, flashy style, and stormy divorce. The last straw should have been his whirlwind remarriage, to an Italian heiress, ex-model, and singer who had past liaisons with Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton, among others, and nude photos all over the Internet. But the lady in question, Carla Bruni, is proving an unexpected asset. At the Elysee Palace, Maureen Orth encounters a pair of romantic predat
