Robert Wagner has an autobiography “Pieces of My Heart,” coming out tomorrow (Sept. 23nd). The book written with Scott Eyman, looks like a terrific read if your into the golden years of Hollywood. Wagner’s life is very rich and he rubbed elbows and tells stories about many of Hollywoods’ most iconic stars. He was mentored by Spencer Tracy and befriended by golden-era greats including Gary Cooper, James Cagney and Bette Davis. He dated everyone from Debbie Reynolds to Joan Collins.
Centennial Tributes: Bette Davis: Part I
By OdienatorRuth Elizabeth Davis, better known as Bette, was born 100 years ago today. In her 81 years on Earth, she accumulated more than 100 film and television roles, 10 Oscar nominations, four husbands, two Oscars, one Emmy and lots of enemies. Her career began with The Bad Sister and ended 68 years later with a Wicked Stepmother. She appeared in melodramas, horror pictures, gangster movies, women's weepies, Disney flicks, the occasional comedy, and my favorite movie of all time. She was the first femal
Spike Lee Believes Eastwood Spat, Not “Meandering” Film, May Cost Him Oscar
Spike Lee, who is fluent in Whine, is now crying to King magazine that he fears his public war of words with Clint Eastwood may have cost him an Oscar nomination.
Spike should really have that foot checked out, because he seems to keep shooting it.
As you may remember, Spike threw the first punch when he criticized Clint for not having African-Americans in Flags of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima. Clint then sweetly took the high road by saying that Spike should “shut his face.” And S
Can ‘Australia’ Finally Convince Audiences That Hugh Jackman Isn’t Gay?
20th Century Fox sure hopes so! In a story in yesterday's Times, overcompensating executives at the studio hilariously describe Viva Laughlin–toplining, three-time Tony Awards host Hugh Jackman as "rough-hewn" and a "young Clint Eastwood." "There are not many actors who have an ability to pick up a Nicole Kidman, throw her on the bed and ravish her with believability," says Australia director Baz Luhrmann. Additionally: "He is also excellent with a cattle whip."

‘The Changeling’ Trailer: Cry Me an Oscar!
Tagline: "I want my son back! I want my son back!"
Translation: But I'd take a Golden Globe!
The Verdict: Awards bait at its very finest, the latest Clint Eastwood joint attempts to dispel the popularly held belief that all children are pretty much interchangeable. In The Changeling, Angelina Jolie's son gets kidnapped, and when the LAPD can't find him, they just replace him with some other kid and declare the case closed. Jolie's previous portrayal of a woman with an abducted family member (in A Mighty
Nobel Hopeful Steven Spielberg Brokered Fragile Peace Between Spike Lee and Clint Eastwood [It Can Now Be Told]
During this year's NBA Finals, a courtside power summit at Staples Center provided stirring insight into the intimate camaraderie between Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Eddie Murphy. (You might recall Sylvester Stallone joining in when Katzenberg visited the men's room.) We're learning even more today about that alliance, which, in addition to Spielberg's orotund ref-hating, influenced detente in ways not seen since Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchill converged at Yalta. The stakes: Peace between dire
Spike Lee Sticks to the Story: A Black Solider Helped Clint Eastwood's "Flag"
The buzz about Spike Lee's Miracle at St. Anna is semi-positive (I've read reviews that laud the production, but say the story gets lost in a few artistic flashes.) Miracle at St. Anna is a fictional account, based on the true story of a group of black soldiers who dogged it out in Italy during World War 2. It's also Spike's way of reminding the world that black soldiers have fought in America's wars even before they were considered citizens of the United States. This summer, Spike Lee complained that Clint
Val Kilmer, aka Batman, the next governor of New Mexico?
Ronald Reagan made it all the way to White House, Clint Eastwood managed a
term as Mayor of Carmel-by-Sea, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is still, just
about, Governor of California. Now Val Kilmer could be the next "big-name"
to jollify the colourful world of celebrity politics.
The occasionally-outspoken actor has sent a shockwave through the sleepy
political establishment of his native New Mexico amid reports that he's

Best Actor race looking tight as always — expect surprises
The Best Actor category tends to be one of the more crowded categories come Oscar time, and 2008 looks to be no exception. To be sure, there are a handful of frontrunners as usual, but hovering behind them are another group, more than eight who could easily sneak in and nab a nomination. Last year Tommy Lee Jones was nominated for his powerful work in “The Valley of Elah,” a richly deserved nod, but completely unexpected by the majority of prognosticators. I remember smiling when I heard his n
Preview of this year’s Oscar potentials
For all of those who don’t know, I love the Oscars. I’m actually quite dorky with The Academy Awards. I follow them almost religiously so right now I’ll apologize if my entire blog is bombarded with Oscar buzz from this point on (but I’ll try my best to keep things diverse). So here we are in the third week of September and I figure, “Hey, this is a perfect time to start talking about Oscar potentials.” It’s never too early to take a peak at some contenders, right?

Top 10 performances you’re underestimating for Oscar
Every year it seems there are a number of performers in the thick of an Oscar hunt that don’t get the same attention as the expected heavy-hitters.
It’s no surprise, of course, that Oscar prognostication would lean toward the anticipation of what lies ahead, unseen, unproven. The mystery stays in tact, if for precious few moments. But a number of nominated actors and actresses, year after year, tend to bank on the underestimation of the masses, allowing those heavy-hitters to fall by the wa
Quote: Don’t Put Spike Lee Next to Judd Apatow
The September 22nd issue of The New Yorker has a profile on Spike Lee. At one point Lee is given a poster to sign for the wall at the Sony Music studio that he used for his latest film. So while his feud with Clint Eastwood might be officially over, Lee launches a shot in the direction of America’s favorite comedy producer/director Judd Apatow:
“Don’t put us next to Judd Apapoe, whatever that guy is,” Lee says, referring to Judd Apatow. “We gotta be next to Spielberg and Williams!”
Lee has

Jolie has based her character on her mother.... ""My mother was very passive in many ways and very, very sweet, but when it came to her children, she was a lion," Jolie has said. Angelina Jolie: Coming soon to a theatre near you (trailer)
The trailer for Changeling, the new movie from Clint Eastwood and starring Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich, is out and what has sounded like a drag-along, boring premise for a movie to me for the last few uber-hyped months actually looks really good.
Jolie plays Christine Collins, the mother of a kidnapped child in 1920’s Los Angeles. The movie is based on actual events and tells the story of the corruption in the Los Angeles Police Department and the treatment one mother was subjected to when she

Emmys are Sunday. Why don't I care?
By Edward CopelandI've been an award show nut since I was a wee lad, but as I've grown I've dumped more and more of the galas. The People's Choice Awards were banned before I was out of elementary school when one year they nominated Clint Eastwood for favorite television star and he wasn't even on anything on TV. During high school, I finally got fed up with the joke that is the Grammys. I'm beginning to wonder if the Emmys are about to land on the same trash pile. Too many years of watching them nominate t
Trailer Park - Changeling
Throughout his impressive career director Clint Eastwood has mined one hit after another becoming one of the most consistent forces working in Hollywood. His upcoming film, “Changeling,” appears to be yet another feather in the cap of one of Tinseltown’s true cinematic giants.
The film is set in 1920s Los Angeles and is based upon the Wineville Chicken Murders, an infamous kidnapping and murder case that occurred from 1928 through 1930 and received nationwide attention in the United State
Changeling- Angelina eyes the Oscar
Clint Eastwood’s new film Changeling starring Angelina Jolie has hit online. The trailer chronicles the life of a mother who looses her in the 1920’s. The Los Angeles Police department finds her son and returns him, but then she claims it’s not the same boy. The film then turns into something that is so convoluted that it brings out the worst in men. This is surely looking like an Oscar Worth performance from the leading lady. Clint Eastwood who had read the script and also reminiscent the similaritie
