W trailer online

www.filmstalker.co.uk - 25th Sep 2008

Josh Brolin: The full trailer for Oliver Stone's W is here. The life and times of George Bush are singled out for the film treatment. This film looks more light hearted than I was expecting from Stone. Take a look inside and see what you think. W stars Josh Brolin as George W Bush and Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush. Other cast members include, Thandie Newton, James Cromwell and Richard Dreyfuss. The trailer is below courtesy of Rope of Silicon. I reckon it looks a bit too lighthearted, instead of a film that shows the real story of Bush's two terms. "W." TV Spot
It will be interesting to see how both sides of the aisle react to this movie. If it’s seriously damaging to the President’s reputation (which is how the clips look), I can only imagine that the Republicans will be crying and the Democrats will be cheering. And vice versa. And I just have to say how much I love this poster. The Oliver Stone-directed biopic stars Josh Brolin as George W. Bush, Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush, James Cromwell as George Herbert Walker Bush, Ellen Burstyn as Barbar

'W' Trailer Makes Commentary on Bush's Funny Face and Post-Punk Policies
Alright, Oliver Stone, if you want to make your W trailer into an abbreviated Talking Heads video, that's fine, but at least make Josh Brolin do the appropriate dance moves for it. As it stands, he's just doing a lot of funny faces and spitting pretzel out of his mouth, which doesn't make for that entertaining of a movie. Still though: take that, Bush! 'W.' trailer: Can his expose of George W. Bush get Oliver Stone back in the Oscars derby?
Oliver Stone's newest film, "W.," about the life of the current U.S. commander in chief could well put the three-time Oscar winner back in the derby. As you will see from the trailer, Josh Brolin eerily embodies George W. Bush, just as his father, James, bore a strong resemblance to President Ronald Reagan when he portrayed him in a 2003 TV miniseries. Oscar winners Richard Dreyfuss as Vice President Dick Cheney and Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush lend support as do Oscar nominee James Cromwell as Preside

Will W. Be The Funniest Movie Of The Season?
Even after the first W. trailer was released this summer, we weren't sure what to expect from Oliver Stone's film. Well, that's not exactly true. We expected that it would be totally bananas, but we didn't know how far it would take things and whether it would be any good.   From the looks of it, W. goes further than our imaginations even figured. One of our favorite movie blogs, In Contention, posted a new television spot (and linked to another over at Huffington Post) and well, consider us incredib

‘W.’ Trailer: Oliver Stone’s Bush Movie Still Looking Hilarious
Tagline: Based on a true story.Translation: Yep, they include the part with the pretzel. The Verdict: The new, second trailer for Oliver Stone's Bush biopic, W., has a lot going for it — the (obvious-in-retrospect) choice of the Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime" for the soundtrack, Josh Brolin's hilarious, spot-on Bush impersonation, and Elizabeth Banks playing a mean Laura, straight man to George. This clip may be slightly less madcap than the first one, but its jokes are better. We bet this is goin

EXCLUSIVE: ‘W.’ Photo Reveals Bush’s Wild Side
By and large I love me some Oliver Stone. I will defend just about all of his work except for “Alexander”. But even I am not sure what to make of his take on the life and times of George W. Bush. “W.” opens in just over a month and each glimpse me leaves me simultaneously intrigued and skeptical. Will Oliver pull off something special? Your guess is as good as mine. In the meantime, here’s an exclusive image.

New Images of W.
USA TODAY has a batch of New Images from the biopic movie W. about the rise of our current president George Dubya Bush played by Josh Brolin. Some of the are behind-the-scenes photo of Oliver Stone directing his actors. The article also has the description of the beginning scene from the movie and yes, the movie is a comedy/satire. That explains the first TV Spot and the second TV spot. Maybe Stone wasn’t aiming for a fair portrayal after all. * To view more photos of W., just click on the image belo

New trailer for Oliver Stone’s ‘W’ …
Whatever your opinion of President Bush, or of Oliver Stone for that matter, this movie actually looks funny… if not sort of sad. It goes without saying that the film will be heavily biased, politically speaking, but all that aside… I can’t help but find myself a little intrigued having seen three distinctly different trailers for the film, leading me to actually look forward [out of curiosity] to an Oliver Stone film. This is an anomaly, trust me. I do not like Oliver Stone. Here a link

"W" Preview and Trailer
W. is headed to screens Oct. 17, 2008. It’s Oliver Stone’s story about George W. Bush, taking us through his life, struggles and triumphs, marriage to Laura, development of his faith, and the critical days leading up to his decision to invade Iraq. What do you think about this? I just keep thinking how weird it would be to have a movie made about you. I’m sure Stone will give us his version of the events, and they’ll probably be really dramatic and possibly untrue. I’d like s

‘W.’ watchers say Brolin’s Bush is uncanny
If there is anyone in Hollywood who is inundated with politics these days, it is Oliver Stone, who will finish editing his George W. Bush biopic any minute now and is looking forward to a huge publicity push before it opens on Oct. 17. “W.,” starring Josh Brolin as the 43rd president, is shaping up as a hit — if not a blockbuster, at least a moneymaker poised to score multiple award nominations. People who have seen the film, and there are not many at this point, have said the most astonishing part

Elizabeth Banks on 'W.' and 'Porno'
CNN has an interesting piece on busy actress Elizabeth Banks, who has three movies coming up this fall. In the article, she shares her thoughts on two of them: Kevin Smith's comedy "Zack and Miri Make a Prono" and Oliver Stone's George W. Bush biopic "W." In "W.," Banks portrays Laura Bush, while in "Porno," she plays a young woman who teams up with Seth Rogen to make a porno - two roles that don't have too much in common.
