Alex Witchel wrote an extremely thorough profile of Queen Latifah for the New York Times Magazine, in which we discover that the woman who is a Grammy-award winning singer, Oscar-nominated actress, management-and-production company mogul, CoverGirl developer and model as well as spokesperson for Jenny Craig is also unfailingly polite and amazingly down to earth. The piece does touch on her sexuality, and The Queen says: I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a pro

`SNL' sends up VP debate with Fey, Queen Latifah
NEW YORK - It's starting to feel like Tina Fey is running for vice president.
Video: Queen Latifah As Gwen Ifill on SNL
This weekend, SNL continued its parodies of Republican vp candidate Sarah Palin and the vice-presidential debate. Queen Latifah did a great imitation of moderator Gwen Ifill, who’s writing a book about Sen. Barack Obama.
SNL regular Tina Fey gave her usual dead-on impression of the Alaska Governor. And Sen. Joe Biden was played by SNL regular Jason Sudeikis.

Queen Latifah to play Ifill on 'SNL'
NEW YORK, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Queen Latifah has agreed to play PBS journalist and U.S. vice presidential debate moderator Gwen Ifill on "Saturday Night Live," TMZ reported Friday.
Queen Latifah: "I Don't Care If People Think I'm Gay"
"I don't have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life," Latifah, 38, told Sunday's New York Times magazine.
"You don't get that part of me. Sorry," she added. "We’re not discussing it in our meetings, we’re not discussing it at Cover Girl...nobody gets that.
"I don't feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don't care if people think I'm gay or not," she said. "Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway."

Queen Latifah To Spoof VP Debate On Saturday Night Live?
We don't know if Tina Fey will be back on Saturday Night Live this weekend as Sarah Palin, but if the show indeed spoofs tonight's vice presidential debate, at least one impersonator appears to be confirmed: Queen Latifah as moderator Gwen Ifill.
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello is reporting that Latifah has signed on to play Ifill on this week's SNL if the show goes ahead with a debate sketch. It would seem like a no-brainer until you actually watched the debate, which would be best described as "a

Gwen Ifill’s Biggest Mistake: WEARING GREEN AGAIN
Did you miss Meet the Press on Sunday?
We got to hear from VP debate moderator Gwen Ifill and see her being imitated by Queen Latifah on SNL.
And, while she didn’t wear the exact same jacket from the debate, it was in the green family.
Didn’t she think that would look weird — watching the SNL tape [...]
Queen Latifah Speaks Out on Gay Rumors
Queen Latifah says she doesn't discuss her private life or her sexuality. "I don't feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don't care if people think I'm gay or not."
She told Alex Witchel of the New York Times, "Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway."
When asked about the rumors of a supposed romance with her personal trainer, Queen responded, "I don't have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life. You don't get that part
Our Little Girl’s Done All Grown Up!
The tiny blonde, strangely-toothed actress is now 14 years old. And if her red carpet photos from The Secret Life of Bees premiere are any indication, she’s done all grown up.

Plus, red carpet photos of my three favorite BBW, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson and Will Smith.
Well, it appears her transformation into Gwyneth Paltrow is nearly complete:

Queen Latifah Talks Weight Loss
When Queen Latifah signed on to be the new celebrity face of Jenny Craig, she wanted to lose weight, but mostly she was just looking to get healthier.
She set a goal for herself to lose 5 to 10 percent of her body weight and keep it off.
"For me, it's not about a body image thing. I feel pretty confident. I do realize I'm a role model to a lot of people, and I've been a role model for confidence. I feel being a healthier person is a good thing. If I can set the example for confidence on the inside,
Gwen Ifill: There Was Nothing I Could Do!
When Matt Drudge last week "broke news" that Gwen Ifill — at that point the upcoming moderator to the vice presidential debate — was writing a book about black politics in America and releasing it on Inauguration Day, conservatives quickly shaped the story to make everyone think the PBS (and NBC) veteran was authoring a pro-Obama book and, thus, wasn't qualified to moderate what will likely be the most-watched of the debates. Except, as we explained, Ifill wasn't writing a pr

'SNL' Will Have Its Reward In Heaven After This Sarah Palin Debate Skit [Third Term In Office]
With less than a month left to go in this presidential election, Saturday Night Live expands its resurgent political brand into special Thursday episodes starting this week, though it's hard to see how they could possibly outdo the trilogy of Tina Fey-as-Sarah Palin appearances that continued into last night's episode.
