Tom Cruise “Shrek 4″ Movie
It’s come to this-Tom Cruise has accepted a role opposite Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy in the next installment of the Shrek franchise.
The eccentric actor will play a villain in Shrek Goes Fourth, according to a new scoop on the Snitch Circuit.
“He’s been looking for different roles recently and this is an ideal [...]
From Smith to Depp: Hollywood's Best Paid
Tinseltown's leading ladies may generate more tabloid ink, but when it comes to blockbuster paychecks, Hollywood is still a man's town.
In an era where risk-averse studio executives have declared men the more reliable movie stars--and the more desirable moviegoers--perhaps it's no surprise that they are also the medium's top earners. The reality: Hollywood's 10 best-paid actors out-earned Hollywood's 10 best-paid actresses 2-to-1 over the course of the year.
Collectively, the big screen's leading men
Could Tom Cruise Voice the Villain in Shrek 4?
A small, CGI-animated bird from Dreamworks recently dropped a present into Cinema Blend’s inbox with potential news on Shrek Goes Fourth. Apparently the list of actors being considered to voice the villain includes one surprise… Tom Cruise. The super secret source provided no additional details, but since the film doesn’t release until 2010 I wouldn’t expect to hear anything resembling a confirmation or denial until some time next year.
Although this is very much a rumour at this
Why You Don't Care About Eddie Murphy
We needed a little time today to digest our feelings after the miserable box-office showing of Meet Dave, whose free-fall over the weekend resulted in the ugliest opening of Eddie Murphy's career. Not having seen it, we have to assume that $5.1 million gross aside, the film is at least superior to Norbit (not to mention Vampire in Brooklyn, Pluto Nash and a sprinkling of other Murphy misfires over the years). We'd even venture to say it'll be better than Beverly Hills Cop IV, the PG-rated abomination to whi
Mike Myers on Justin's Speedo: We Used "Special Effects to Reduce the Size"
Mike Myers admits he had a "man crush" on Justin Timberlake while shooting their new comedy The Love Guru (out June 20).
"I will confirm that," Myers told Usmagazine.com at the Hollywood premiere on Wednesday.
His take on Timberlake in speedo?
"What is amazing about the speedo is that they have to do a lot of special effects to reduce the size," he joked. "Oh, yeah ... you heard it here first, folks!"
Co-star Verne Troyer wasn't as enthused about the scene.
"I didn't actually have to see it,
Hindu groups seek ban of Myers film "Guru" in India
"The Love Guru" has not received a warm welcome from some Hindu groups, who reportedly have requested that India's Central Board of Film Certification and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ban screenings of the Mike Myers comedy in India.
In March, U.S.-based Universal Society of Hinduism president Rajan Zed was one of the first to protest the film when he said it "appears to be lampooning Hinduism."
Media reports Tuesday quoted Bhavna Shinde, a representative of Mumbai-based Hindu organiz
Coldplay, Pussycat Dolls Set To Perform At MTV Movie Awards
From Jason Bourne to Juno MacGuff, the 2008 MTV Movie Awards are about celebrating the best names in film — but it wouldn't be MTV if some of the biggest names in music didn't get their chance to shine as well.
Set your "Clocks" for June 1, when Coldplay will take the stage live at the Gibson Amphitheater to perform the single "Violet Hill" from their first new album in three years, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. Released April 29, the song was downloaded more than 2 million times from the
New Line Panting For 'Austin Powers 4'
I'm told that Mike Myers has started writing Austin Powers 4 which will be an homage to his father. "It's very personal with a father and son theme loosely based on his own life," an insider tells me. As Myers has previously said, this fourth installment of the super spy spoof movie series will focus on Austin's arch-villain Dr. Evil, who was based on Blofeld of the Bond films.
But what hasn't been known is that the AP4 plot is really about Dr. Evil and his son (introduced already as Scott Evil, played
Diane Kruger Joins Pitt, Myers in 'Inglorious Bastards'
The cast of Quentin Tarantino's WWII action-drama, 'Inglorious Bastards,' just got even more star-studded. 'National Treasure' leading lady Diane Kruger has signed on to join the likes of Brad Pitt and Mike Myers in the film, says the Hollywood Reporter.
Kruger will play Bridget Von Hammersmark, a German actress who allies with Pitt and Myers' plot to take down the Nazis. Kruger was born in Germany and will speak both German and English in the movie, says the Reporter.
Pitt will play a Tennessee hillbill
Michael Fassbender Cast in Inglorious Bastards
Michael Fassbender, who played Stelios in 300, is now in talks for Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming World War II film Inglorious Bastards. Fassbander is German and speaks the language fluently. So lets recap: Brad Pitt is signed on to star. Mike Myers and Eli Roth are also on board, and Nastassja Kinski, David Krumholtz and B.J. Novak are still in talks to join the cast.

Tarantino recruits actor to play British general
Mike Myers has been recruited by Quentin Tarantino to join the ensemble cast of "Inglorious Bastards," the Tarantino-scripted pic that the Weinstein Co. and Universal will put into production Oct. 13 in Germany.
Myers will play British Gen. Ed Fenech, a military mastermind who takes part in hatching a plot to wipe out Nazi leaders.
Brad Pitt recently committed to star in the film, along with Eli Roth, and Tarantino is also courting Simon Pegg, Nastassj
Prominent Hindu leaders urge Mike Myers to apologize for "Love Guru"
Hindu leaders have called on Mike Myers to issue an apology for his portrayal of Hinduism in his movie "The Love Guru".
Hindu leader Rajan Zed said that the movie "lampoons Hinduism" and that, while the apology would not undo the damage caused by the film, it would "heal the wounds somewhat of a disturbed Hindu populace".
He added: "Ksama, or forgiveness, is one of the main virtues of Hindu ethics. If Mike Myers offers a genuine public apology, Hindus would not only absolve him but might also pray for
Is ‘Austin Powers 4’ A Good Idea Or THE WORST IDEA EVER?
Perhaps my choice of hitting the caps lock key when I did gave away my thoughts on this matter? The truth is I like Austin Powers. I laughed like everyone else when the first one came out and yes I may have quoted the film once or twice (but not since 1999, I swear). But I laughed a little less during “The Spy Who Shagged Me” and by the time of “Goldmember” I felt, I think like most of you, that this series had run its course.
Funny what a huge flop will do though. According to Nikki Finke over a
Eddie Murphy’s Head Entertains L.A. Commuters. Meet Dave to Out-Suck Love Guru?
Doc’s De Lorean. KITT. Tony Stark’s Audi R8. Eddie Murphy’s Head. Dream Vehicles. In a Hail Mary for the ages, 20th Century Fox has that thing above cruising around the West Coast in hopes that it will make people pay to see Murphy in next month’s mini-alien bonanza, Meet Dave.
I saw the trailer for this $100 million movie a couple nights ago while sunburnt/drunk, and convinced myself without any trouble that it was the sequel to The Adventures of Pluto Nash. Potential Epic FAIL brewing: Love Gu
Beverly Hills Cop 4 shuns Beverly Hills Cop 3
First, the crappy sequel gods came for John McClane, and Eddie Murphy said nothing because he was not John McClane. Then they came for Indiana Jones, and Eddie Murphy said nothing because he was not Indiana Jones. Then they came for Axel Foley, and who was left to speak? Eddie friggin Murphy, that’s who!
You can read all about how and why “Beverly Hills Cop 4” is soon coming to a theater near you here, including Eddie’s thoughts on profanity, but in the meantime Mr. Murphy wants you to know one v
Biggest Box Office Disasters and Flops in History (Photos)
If you haven’t blown the price of a movie ticket on a box office disaster, consider yourself lucky. Some actors are developing a reputation for helping to bring a movie down. Eddie Murphy, Warren Beatty and Andie MacDowell have had more than one.
Even some of Hollywood’s finest have been involved in [...]
‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ May Be Geared Towards Kids, Says Brett Ratner
With the recent announcement that Brett Ratner would be directing a fourth “Beverly Hills Cop” movie 15 years after his last big-screen adventure, we wanted to know, where exactly is Axel Foley these days?
“Probably in Detroit,” laughed Ratner, who is currently working with star Eddie Murphy on Foley’s fourth big-screen adventure, where he will no doubt once again find himself improbably making his way back to the California coast.
And why not? Rambo did it. So did John McClane. Indiana Jo
Is Eddie Murphy's career over?
What happened
Eddie Murphy’s latest comedy Meet Dave, which cost $60 million to make, took in just $5.3 million at the box office over its opening weekend and came in at seventh place. (Reuters)
What the commentators said
After Dave’s “brutal” box office opening, said Dan Kois and Lane Brown New York magazine’s Vulture blog, “what remains for the career of Eddie Murphy?” Even though some reviewers “charitably” called Murphy’s latest the best of his worst, still hardly anyone went to
Mel B to launch her own fashion line

The 32-year-old former ‘Dancing With the Stars’ contestant - famous for her love of leopard print outfits and outrageous dress sense - reckons she can set up a label of her own - which is likely to leave Posh Spice furious.
A spokesman for Melanie, who has previously dated actor Eddie Murphy, said: “It’s early stages, but she wants to set up her own company.
Eddie Murphy back in 'Beverly Hills'
On the heels of the successful revival of the "Indiana Jones" franchise, Paramount has set in motion a fourth installment of "Beverly Hills Cop."

Brett Ratner in talks for 'Shrinking Man'
Brett Ratner is in negotiations to direct Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment's remake of "The Incredible Shrinking Man." Brian Grazer is producing the project, which has Eddie Murphy attached to star.
An updated version of the best-selling novel and 1957 sci-fi classic starring Grant Williams, "Man" is taking the comedic approach to the fantastical material, telling the story of a famous Las Vegas magician who is put under a spell that causes him to shrink. He must find a way to reverse the spe
