Hugh Jackman: Not by me of course. Producer Laurewn Shuler of X-Men Origins: Wolverine recently spoke with comingsoon.net about the film, in process she tries to tease the fans about Wolverine and Deadpool. I’m not falling for it because I know the truth! Here is what she had to say: May 1st, 2009! I guess it’s closer to the first “X-Men” in tone because it’s a little darker, but there’s a lot of action. It’s his origin story. It’s really good. I’ve been in the editing room the last couple of weeks and I think that it’s good and that audiences are going to like it. But it’s a little darker. Darker is the key word these day for superhero movies, and guess what? Anyone can say it! It̵ Read full story at www.geektyrant.com

'Wolverine' Producer Teases 'Deadpool' Film
In a red carpet interview with ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype!, Lauren Shuler Donner producer for the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine had nothing particularly new to say about the prequel in which Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine. However, her comment on the job Ryan Reynolds does with his role as Deadpool in the film opened up an intriguing possibility. When asked about a possible spin-off for Reynold’s character, Schuler Donner responded: "I hope so. I really hope so. He'

Hats Off To Hugh - Pants, Too, While You're At It
Let's call a spade a spade - there is no legitimate reason for posting these pics of Hugh Jackman beyond the fact that "he's so pretty." So, that's what I'm doing. Deal with it. For those of you who need to rationalize ogling the gorgeous actor -- try this on for size: Hugh will grace the cover of October's Men's Health where he talks all about getting in shape to play Wolverine in next May's prequel, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." And f'reals, the casting director of that movie should be my new BFF -- ju

Wolverine Cage Fight Cake! - Geeky Cake of the Week
For the birthday of her friend Roslee (a “BIG Hugh Jackman fan”), it occurred to confectionery artisan Kathy to combine three of every man’s favorite things: double-layer cake, Wolverine from the X-Men, and cage matches. If this is what Kathy does for her girlfriends, what do her guy friends get for their birthdays? Steroids and a jack-hammer? Whatever. I’m just glad that a cake featuring bladed weapons and a ring-cage have finally graced the pages of this here blog. Took long

It has been a little while since we've talked about X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In fact, not much has been said since Hugh Jackman showed up at Comic-Con and knocked 6,000 people out of their seats with an explosive surprise clip. In fact, it actually seems a bit odd that we ...

Strike a light ... it's Kidman and Jackman in the new trailer for Australia
Whether you enjoy them or not, and personally I'm not a fan, Baz Luhrmann's films always make an impact when they land, not least because he's made so few of them in a directing career stretching back to 1992's Strictly Ballroom. Since then, only 1996's Romeo + Juliet and 2001's Moulin Rouge have made it into cinemas, though there has been at least one misfire. Luhrmann was reportedly working on his own biopic of Alexander the Great before Oliver Stone came along and ruined everything with 2004's Alexander.

New 'Australia' Trailer: A Romantic Adventure with Wolverine and The Others
If Crocodile Dundee II were a big-budget Lifetime Original Movie based loosely on Pearl Harbor, this is what it would look like. Except this is directed by Moulin Rouge's Baz Luhrmann, stars Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, and will surely be nominated for several Oscars, whereas the Lifetime version would be called Danielle Steel's Down Under, and would be watched by only sad housewives. It looks pretty good if you're into that whole sweeping, epic romance sort of thing (no one is judging you): Co

Nicole Kidman Conceives In Fertile Waters
Nicole Kidman’s miracle is called Sunday Rose, more commanding than Old Mr Anorak’s latest progeny, the rosy-fingered Dawn Rose, and blessed with a ray of life-giving light. But how did this gift occur? Nicole Kidman reveals all: “I never thought that I would get pregnant and give birth to a child, but it happened on this movie.” Was the moment of conception caught on camera? Is this Kidman’s break-out film, a foray into the adult film business? The film is called Australia, and the nationâ

New TV trailer for Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman’s Australia
MSN has just revealed a new trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s Australia, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. In the film that opens on November 26 th, an English Aristocrat travels to far away continent, where she meets a scruffy local played by Hugh Jackman and reluctantly agrees to join forces to save the land she inherited. They embark upon a transforming journey across hundreds of miles of the world’s most beautiful yet unforgiving terrain, only to still face the bombing of the city of Darwin by the J

Australia Ramp-up
Here's last summer's trailer for Baz Luhrman's Australia (20th Century Fox, 11.26), and a newer, just-released version. Luhrman is a fever-pitch, headstrong, first-rate director -- one of the dependable visionaries in this business. The finely crafted script tells a rousing, big-canvas, primary-colors story that's set in the World War II era. And the movie is clearly looking to deliver an eye-filling, epic-sized experience with a mostly realistic (i.e., not too much CG) brush. The only unce

Interview: Writer, Director Neil Burger Follows Iraq Soldiers on Leave in ‘The Lucky Ones’
CHICAGO– In his short career as a writer and director, Neil Burger has taken on the John F. Kennedy assassination in “Interview with the Assassin” and the mysteries of magic in “The Illusionist,” which starred Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti and Jessica Biel. The latter came out the same year as the similar film “The Prestige” with Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson and Michael Caine. With his new film “The Lucky Ones,” Burger tackles the dichotomy between the fighting soldier

Everyday Hero, your fanboy news round-up
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" film with Hugh Jackman: "It's darker and sadder and it's kick-ass."

I am not a Baz Luhrman fan and I am not usually a Nicole fan but Australia looks amazing!!
Hugh and NicoleThere are two kinds of people in this world. People who loved Moulin Rouge and people who didn't. I was in the latter category. I don't like movies where I feel like I am tripping on drugs unless I am actually tripping on drugs. However, I think Baz may have calmed down a bit for his newest film, "Australia." Yeah apparently they were affected by World War II also so this is a story about that. Nicole Kidman plays her usual character: rich, gorgeous woman who has to take care of a farm and fa

Nicole has Fertility Waters to Thank for Pregnancy
The “Moulin Rouge” star, who gave birth to daughter Sunday Rose last July, claims that she and six other women who swam in Kununurra waters during production of upcoming Baz Luhrmann romance “Australia” later miraculously conceived. “I never thought that I would get pregnant and give birth to a child, but it happened on this movie,” Kidman says in today’s The Australian Women’s Weekly. “Seven babies were conceived out of this film and only one was a boy

Must Watch: Second Full Trailer for Baz Luhrmann's Australia
Welcome to Australia. An epic and exciting new trailer for Baz Luhrmann's Australia has debuted this morning. At long last we finally get to see what this movie is really all about - the "rule breaking" romance between Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. I've said it before when the first trailer hit and I'll say it again - this movie looks absolutely amazing. I definitely think Baz Luhrmann has pulled off another huge success and I really can't wait to see it. At least it'll be enough of a love letter to A

New TV Spot for ‘Australia’ Should Defy Expectations
I'm not good with being subtle, so I will just come right out with it. The TV spot below, which is for Baz Luhrmann's next film Australia, is titled "Defy," thus the clever play on words in the title. Get it? Good. The film, which stars Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman ...

Deception Blu-ray Review
Deception starring Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor and  Michelle Williams is an interesting look into the life of Jonathan McQuarry (McGregor), a lonely accountant whose life is turned upside down after meeting Wyatt Bose (Jackman).  Bose introduces McQuarry to a life he’s never known and one he’s not sure he can handle.  It starts innocently enough with a joint and good conversation, but as the obsession builds his life goes the other way. Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor play well off of each other.  B

Be Still My Heart -- New 'Australia' Trailer!
The release date of Australia is a mere month away, yet there's been little in the way of promotion for it. A few posters, a new release date, a few interviews with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman -- that's it. While this could spell a lack of confidence, I think it's largely due to the fact that Baz Luhrmann was still tinkering with the film as of August. But at last, there is a new trailer, courtesy of MSN, but sans embed code. It's an odd trailer. It starts off in a style that's quite contemporary, both
