Oliver Stone: The final trailer for Oliver Stone’s W. is a beauty, the best cut of the lot and the one that really gets me jazzed up to see it the most. I never, ever, thought I would be this interested in a piece of propaganda from Oliver Stone, especially when I was disappointed by much of his [...] Read full story at www.obsessedwithfilm.com

New trailer for Oliver Stone’s ‘W’ …
Whatever your opinion of President Bush, or of Oliver Stone for that matter, this movie actually looks funny… if not sort of sad. It goes without saying that the film will be heavily biased, politically speaking, but all that aside… I can’t help but find myself a little intrigued having seen three distinctly different trailers for the film, leading me to actually look forward [out of curiosity] to an Oliver Stone film. This is an anomaly, trust me. I do not like Oliver Stone. Here a link

First Look: Photos Of Bush's White House Cabinet From Oliver Stone's 'W'
Vanity Fair has gotten their hands on the first look of Bush's entire cabinet circa 2003 from Oliver Stone's upcoming Presidential biopic, "W." From left to right we have Jeffrey Wright as former Secretary of State General Colin Powell, Toby Jones as snake in the grass Karl Rove, Dennis Boutsikaris as then-Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Dreyfuss as VP Dick Cheney and, of course, Josh Brolin as the decider, George W. Oliver Stone: President Bush is a 'good salesman'
Oliver Stone has made three movies about presidents -- JFK, Nixon and the upcoming W., about the current occupant of the White House -- and though he doesn't see much to admire in President George W. Bush, the Oscar-winning director says he came to understand why the politician was able to connect with voters. "He was a cheerleader," Stone says, noting his his fellow Yalie's extra-curricular activity during college. "A cheerleader is a salesman. He was a helluva good salesman. He’s a good

'W' Trailer Makes Commentary on Bush's Funny Face and Post-Punk Policies
Alright, Oliver Stone, if you want to make your W trailer into an abbreviated Talking Heads video, that's fine, but at least make Josh Brolin do the appropriate dance moves for it. As it stands, he's just doing a lot of funny faces and spitting pretzel out of his mouth, which doesn't make for that entertaining of a movie. Still though: take that, Bush! W. Movie Trailer
Lionsgate has released a final trailer for Oliver Stone’s W, which is basically an extended version of the recent tv spots. I think this is a vast improvement over the teaser trailer, because you get a much better understanding of the comedic/dramtic tone of the film. The juxtaposition of the war images with Bush’s stupidity is pure Stone. I also love how they call George Bush Sr. “Poppy”. Share your thoughts in the comments below. Stone: 'Bush Movie Is Not A Hatchet-job'
Filmmaker Oliver Stone insists his biopic of GEORGE W. BUSH is not a "hatchet job" - and he wants viewers to see both sides of the U.S. president. The director's upcoming movie W is widely expected to show the president in a negative light because Stone has made no secret of his dislike of the current American administration. But he is adamant the flick is a "fair" portrait of the outgoing president - and admits he put his own beliefs to one side when making it. Stone tells USA Today newspaper, "(I) trie

Interesting News on the MPAA ratings front.
W, Oliver Stone’s allegedly comic biopic of George W. Bush (mainly dealing with his life pre-presidential run), has been awarded a surprising PG-13 (for language including sexual references, some alcohol abuse, smoking and brief disturbing war images). I presume this means that we won’t see Bush allegedly using cocaine in his youth. On the other hand, this is Oliver Stone’s second PG-13 movie in a row, and his second PG-13 movie ever, following the terrible World Trade Center. Stone used

Can 2008 Be Saved as a Movie Year?
Let’s be honest: It hasn’t been a great year for movies so far. (And not just because any year that brings “The Love Guru” automatically seems like a loser.) Fortunately for everyone the fall movie season is here to save the day! At least, we hope so. At first glance, the season doesn’t have a lot of sure things (besides, maybe, James Bond), but there are plenty of films that at least capture our curiosity (an Oliver Stone movie about a sitting President??; Kevin Smith’s “Zack and Miri Make a

Stone 'wants to show both sides of Bush'

How Dubya Met Laura, Stone-Style
There are girls swinging on a red swingset and piles of potluck food piled high on the tables, all nestled into a wood-fence-lined back yard. According to Oliver Stone's W., this is how George W. Bush met Laura Welch -- the girl who says: "I read. I smoke. I admire." No wonder the two ended up together! The above is a clip about their meeting, which has popped up over at CNN. Now I know that the big question surrounding this film is whether people will go to see it, or ignore it, kind of like the prolifer

Oliver Stone, Comedian
A USA Today writer who has seen 1/3 of Oliver Stone’s George W. Bush movie “W.” says…..it’s a comedy. Color me skeptical that a self-righteous 62-year-old polemicist is suddenly going to be revealed as a great wit. Far down, the story quotes me, which reminds me: Journos, I am available to spew colorful commentary on nearly any subject! Meanwhile, the New York Observer is predicting “W.” will be the funniest movie of the season. Nah. Surely that title will go to

‘W.’ Trailer: Oliver Stone’s Bush Movie Still Looking Hilarious
Tagline: Based on a true story.Translation: Yep, they include the part with the pretzel. The Verdict: The new, second trailer for Oliver Stone's Bush biopic, W., has a lot going for it — the (obvious-in-retrospect) choice of the Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime" for the soundtrack, Josh Brolin's hilarious, spot-on Bush impersonation, and Elizabeth Banks playing a mean Laura, straight man to George. This clip may be slightly less madcap than the first one, but its jokes are better. We bet this is goin
