Exclusive Stream: Listen to Don the Reader’s Entire New Album ‘Humanesque’ Right Here
Lately, there’s been so much technical death metal, deathcore and experimental hardcore that it’s getting hard to keep track of it all. Los Angeles noisecore outfit Don the Reader understand this and are doing everything in their power to win over audiences honestly, without subjecting them to impulse purchases they might later regret.
First, they made their debut self-titled EP available for free download, and now Don the Reader have decided to stream their new album, Humanesque (which came o
Interview: Sam Rockwell Masters Addiction, Redemption in ‘Choke’
CHICAGO– Interviewing actor Sam Rockwell is like experiencing him in one of his many excellent characters. He has been Chuck Barris in “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,” “Wild Bill” Wharton in “The Green Mile” and even Guy Fleegman in “Galaxy Quest”. He’s a true performer with a passion that bleeds through in “Choke,” which is his latest film.Standing and pacing during the Q&A with HollywoodChicago.com, Rockwell made a hilarious theatrical moment out of his frustration while ligh
Seriously, Why Not A Operation Ivy Reunion? [The Return Of Hedgecore?]
The L.A. Times music blog Soundboard, inspired by Rancid's take on "Knowledge" during their show at the Henry Fonda Theatre, looks at the prospects of an Operation Ivy reunion. While Operation Ivy went nowhere fast when they were actually together in the late '80s, the group's popularity has risen significantly. Sure, it's probably not cool to consider such an event, but the band's members are all still alive (a significant plus) and performing music and a short Op Ivy tour would be a license to print mone
TRUE BLOOD “Sparks Fly Out” (Season 1 Episode 5) Early Review
It seems I always start out my TRUE BLOOD reviews the same way, but what can I say so far True Blood has not disappointed, and so the new episode “Sparks Fly Out,” which airs on Sunday, October 5, at 9pm on HBO, is another great one.
While we don’t get that much Sookie and Bill interaction, we do learn a whole lot about Bill’s past and how he became a vampire (so yeah, you probably shouldn’t miss that one). I don’t know if it’s possible, but I love him even more no
Songs: You Downloaded 'Em, Now Tell Us About 'Em [Tell Me Something Good]
Hi! So. Having spent half the year in a "no blog" zone, I've kind of lost track of that beast known as (semi-)popular music. (Seriously, I think the last new album I bought in a real live record store was the Portishead CD.) (Also I'm broke, like everyone else.) With that in mind, I've jacked Dan's audience participation bit in order to ask you, the Idolator readership, to tell me one (newish) song I should check out to make the work day go faster. There are no restrictions on genre (tho I'm cool on contemp
‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Winner Joshua Allen Wants to be a Singer
Turns out that Joshua Allen (the hip-hop dancer who won this season of So You Think You Can Dance) really dreams of being a singer. Why didn’t he audition for American Idol then?
Allen told The Fresno Bee this week that his dream profession might be behind a microphone, as opposed to on the dance floor.
“Overall, I want to be a recording artist. I want to be a singer,” Allen said. “I still want to push my dancing career. And I believe if you want to be a good dancer, you have to be well-rounded.

Jim Cramer Begs America To Abandon Hope [Television]
newVideoPlayer("/Cramer_didnt_want_to_say.flv", 506, 423,""); Whoa, Jim Cramer has fully turned around as much as a man can possibly turn around! The shouty CNBC (poor) stock picker—who as recently as last November was trumpeting "10 Reasons to Be Bullish" ("1. The stock market is cheap")—went on the Today show this morning to virtually beg Americans to pull all the money they might need in the next five years out of the stock market, no matter what the cost. He looks like he's about to cry. Th
The Jolie-Pitts land in France (update: more photos)
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their six children landed at the airport in Nice, France yesterday. The family has certainly been around the globe this summer. They settled in an enormous estate in southern France around late May, headed to Berlin two weeks ago while Brad was filming Inglorious Bastards, jetted off to NY for the weekend for Angelina’s premiere and were most recently in New Orleans checking over Brad’s work with the Make It Right Project. It was thought that they might return to Be

SYTYCD winner Joshua: "I want to be a recording artist"
So You Think You Can Dance 4 winner Joshua Allen may have won the Fox dance competition, but he also has aspirations better suited to those who appear on American Idol.
“Overall, I want to be a recording artist. I want to be singer,” he told the Fresno Bee. But he won’t give up dancing. “I still want to push my dancing career. And I believe if you want to be a good dancer, you have to be well-rounded. You really have to know your stuff. At an audition, they might want a hip-hop dan
Thank You For Smoking [Big Tobacco]
In a revelation that would have shocked and appalled absolutely no one of the time, it seems that "secret contracts" exist proving that Old Hollywood took money from Big Tobacco to Smoke Cigarettes onscreen. "Researchers at the Tobacco Control journal reveal that many of the biggest names of Hollywood's golden age - including Clark Gable, Henry Fonda, and Lauren Bacall - took money to endorse tobacco products." Guess they figured they might as well get paid for it! [NY Daily News]

The cruise is open to the public. Tickets: 615-458-3900 or www.generaljackson.com.

Reese Witherspoon & Jake Gyllenhaal Splitting?!
After Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe split up, I really hoped Reese would find someone who would be good to her and her two kids. I like her - have enjoyed a lot of her movies and she seems like a down to earth sort of person. When she began seeing Jake Gyllenhaal, they seemed like a match made in heaven - both not much into the limelight, but more into living a 'normal' life. Now, sadly, they might be breaking up....The pair began dating almost 2 years ago a
"Defiance" - Trailer
You know, I almost wonder if people will be looking for more light-hearted films to ease the pressures of everyday life in the coming months. If so, they might want to avoid Defiance, which looks pretty heavy-duty.
Directed by Edward Zwick, it’s based on the true story of three Jewish brothers (Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell), who, in WWII Russia, escape from Nazi-occupied Poland into the Belarussian forest. There, they join Russian resistance fighters and attempt to build a village in
Fearless Forecast - Leo and Crowe Will Outmuscle 'Chihuahua'
You can't blame
Body of Lies for being released this week, but
the new
Leonardo DiCaprio-Russell
Crowe film may have a little trouble at the box office because of its
political nature. Obviously, the economy continues to plummet; the Dow was
around 13,000 in mid-May and today it fell below 9,000 for the first time
in five years. That could trigger a down weekend overall at the box office, and
the most visible victim of that would be a movie about the war on terror.
It could happen that way
Lesbians, sperm donors, and incest in Australia!
With the growth of lesbianism and, apparently, less guys jizzing into cups for their procreation benefits, regulators in Australia are concerned that there might be incest going on down under.
UNREGULATED sperm donation is leading to unusual situations in which the children of lesbians in Adelaide are mixing socially - creating a risk of incest.
One of South Australia’s foremost experts in reproductive technology - Reverend Dr Andrew Dutney - says that in one reported case, about 30 lesbians were
Planet Hollywood… 17 Years Later
Last night, following a friend's birthday party in midtown Manhattan and 4,000 concoctions known as "Berry Cosmos", a friend and I thoght it would be a fabulous idea to head over to Planet Hollywood in Times Square. As a quick reminder, Planet Hollywood (or "The PH", as us insiders refer to it) was opened in 1991 by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis. Today, it remains a leopard-carpeted maze of movie props and costumes, where tourists happily shell out $4 per popper to snap a phot
Sunday Discussion: The Mighty Hollywood Reboot Trend
I thought I'd throw out this idea that's been swirling around in my head for a while. It seems like every week we see an announcement for another old franchise that's being rebooted, re-imagined, or remade. On one hand, some reboots turn out great (need I mention The Dark Knight?), on the other, some turn out worse than the original (like Dukes of Hazard). However, I'm interested in idea that Hollywood seems to be relying on these reboots to keep them floating in the black. And to be clear, this isn't about

Jamie Lynn Spears "Everything is just completely fabricated"
In an exclusive interview for OK! the new parents Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge defend themselves and their relationship against all of rumor that has nagged them since the birth of their baby daughter, Maddie Briann. A recent series of scandalous tabloid stories have alleged that not only has 19-year-old Casey been unfaithful to Jamie Lynn, but that he's also gotten another woman pregnant. The stories insist that the couple's relationship is a sham, that he is still seeing other girls and that Jamie
Eric Wareheim's Music Video For Flying Lotus Beats Around The Bush
Yesterday, a video made the rounds in which a montage of porno clips were partially covered up with cute animations, so that suddenly it looked like people were riding ponies and eating delicious sundaes instead of raw dogging it, and cetra. It was deemed safe for work, but the truth is that it was not at all SFW. I don't know where you work, but I work in my home, by myself, and that video was not safe for my work. Thumbs down, viral marketing executives at Diesel.
I say, if you're going to cover up exp
Would you like to take a sip off Pamela Anderson?
The great brains at the famous ice cream brand Ben & Jerry remain busy in evolving new ideas for their fresh products, but probably they never even thought of this one.
What a brilliant idea to make ice cream with breast milk. It is indeed a great “service” to the cows.
The idea was presented by PETA (the People for the Ethical Treatments of Animals).
The PETA Executive VP Tracy Reiman disclosed the idea in a letter to Ben & Jerry’s to make ice cream from human breast milk.

Chihuahua's Bark Is Loud at the Box Office
You know, the reviews for Disney's Beverly Hills Chihuahua were not as bad as I thought they might be, so that coupled with the fact that it's a family film meant that the movie about little talking dogs took the No. 1 spot at the box office over the weekend. The top dogs brought in a seriously impressive $29 million. That's about the same amount that Eagle Eye earned last weekend. This weekend, the Shia LaBeouf action-thriller came in second place.
Meanwhile, some smaller movies (a.k.a. "specialty films
Lisa Kudrow in Psychotherapy, 2.0
Goofy Phoebe from Friends is not the only role multi-talented actress Lisa Kudrow is known for. What about the ditzzy Michelle from Romy and Michele's High School Reunion? Or the spacey self-parody Kudrow deftly inhabited for the short-lived HBO series The Comeback? Oh hai, and Marcy X.
Okay, so maybe versatile isn't the word that comes to mind when thinking of Kudrow, but at least she knows her niche (*achem* Courtney Cox). Now Lisa is delving into Quarterlife territory with an online series called Web T
