'SNL' viewers drop; 'The View' ratings hit historic high
Just in from USA TODAY's Gary Levin: Having no Sarah Palin - real or impersonated - put a dent in Saturday Night Live's ratings last weekend. The Oct. 25 (with Maya Rudolph as Michelle Obama) episode drew 9.3 million viewers, down 38% from the 15.1 million who tuned in to see Palin on Oct. 18, setting a 14-year high. But the NBC series is still pacing well ahead of last fall's averages.
And in other ratings news, ABC's The View is enjoying some political momentum, scoring its most-watched week in history

Maya Rudolph Michelle Obama “Saturday Night Live” Skit
The hilarious Maya Rudolph, who spent years bringing in the laughs on the NBC sketch comedy series, is reportedly working on her impersonation of rising style icon and our nation’s potential next First Lady Michelle Obama.
Rumor has it that while there is “no official confirmation,” Maya’s appearance as Mrs. Obama is “likely.”

Celebrate Amy Poehler's Baby Boy With Her Finest Sketches [Snl]
As Maya Rudolph fan clubs weather another couple hours of suspense before her return to Saturday Night Live, TMZ is reporting that Amy Poehler just had a baby boy and will miss tonight's Jon Hamm-hosted spectacular. Hold your breath that she went with the name we suggested: Winston Jammer Poehler. I know, right? In some cultures (don't be insensitive) the birth of a child is best marked by four Amy Poehler sketches to rule them all. And if last week was your swan song at SNL, you earned it, Amy.

Welcome Back Maya! Please Don't Go
According to reports, Maya Rudolph is returning to "Saturday Night Live" this weekend to play Michelle Obama in addition to reprising her "Bronx Beat" character with Amy Poehler.
This is real good news for fans like me who think Maya was one of the strongest comedians -- male or female -- the show has ever had. Just take a quick trip to the old mental vault with me, m'kay? Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Donatella Versace, Oprah and Britannica from Gemini's Twin are just a few of my favorite characters and I th
Maya Rudolph to Solve SNL's Obama Problem
The ridiculously overworked Tina Fey may be MIA from Saturday Night Live this weekend, but in keeping with the recent returns of Chris Parnell and Will Ferrell, another familiar alumnus is expected to put in an appearance.
Though unconfirmed by NBC, sources tell TVGuide.com that Maya Rudolph will revisit her old stomping grounds this Saturday night, primarily to personify Barack Obama's wife, Michelle. Rudolph also is likely to surface in a "Bronx Beat' bit with Amy Poehler, it was reported earlier by
Live From Jezebel, It's Saturday Night! [Maya, Mad Men, And MacGruuuuberrr!]
With only two more episodes until the election, it's pretty safe to say that SNL will continue its run of hilarious political humor tonight, which will surely be helped along by the addition of guest star Maya Rudolph playing the role of Michelle Obama. Our host tonight is Jon Hamm from Mad Men, and our musical guest is Coldplay, the official band of all things GOOP. Will SNL deliver another solid week of skits? Will Maya make a great Michelle? Will Don Draper hang out with MacGruber? What will hap
Maya Rudolph to Play Michelle Obama
Photo: Getty ImagesThe special-guest parade continues on Saturday Night Live: TMZ reports that alum Maya Rudolph will return this weekend to play Michelle Obama — this should be interesting, particularly because we're just having a hard time imagining how a good parody of Michelle would look. Unfortunately, Tina Fey will not be around to resume her Palin-mocking duties (she put in her time last night), but give us Kristen Wiig as a glassy-eyed Cindy McCain and all is forgiven. [TMZ]
Maya Rudolph Returns To SNL Saturday
Yes, it's true. To play Michelle Obama. What a difference a year makes.

Scriptwriter and director George Orido complies with Kenyan preferences in his casting of Mr McCain, his running-mate Sarah Palin, and President George Bush.

Candidate Numerology Just In Time For Halloween!
We do the numbers. On this All Hallows Eve, we take a look at the candidates through the mystical practice of numerology. As team players, they are comfortable being modest and letting others take the limelight. Barack Obama: 9Giving, selfless, and compassionate, nines are often humanitarians. Sarah Palin Clearly Has No Idea What the First Amendment Is
Sarah Palin wants the media to shut up because if they don't stop calling her campaign negative, they are trampling on her right to say whatever she wants? What? God I will miss this lady when she's gone (nope).
"If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations," Palin told host Chris Plante, "then I don't know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability t

It's a Boy! (And a Scramble for Saturday Night Live)
Amy Poehler's baby boy was not quite ready for prime-time either, arriving on Saturday during the daylight hours, sources tell TVGuide.com.
As a result, NBC's Saturday Night Live is reportedly hustling to rewrite portions of tonight's show. In addition to coanchoring Weekend Update as usual with Seth Meyers, Poehler also was slated to revive the "Bronx Beat" sketch with SNL alumna Maya Rudolph (who is returning to her old stomping grounds this weekend primarily to play Michelle Obama).

Saturday Night Live Episode Recap: "John Hamm Hosts, Coldplay Performs"
Congrats to Amy Poehler who had her baby earlier on Saturday! While there wasn't an appearance by Tina Fey or Sarah Palin or Obama, we still had many a fun surprise this week. As previously reported, Maya Rudolph played Michelle Obama, and two Mad Men favorites appeared in a sketch as well. I have to admit, I thought this week was going to be a mess, but Jon Hamm really delivered! Now on to the show...Cold OpeningOne more SNL until the election and they open with this? "Saturday Night Live" gives us Barack Obama variety half-hour
Have you been missing Maya Rudolph? She's back -- in top form -- as Michelle Obama on "Saturday Night Live."
This weekend's show was the most consistent this season. There were actually good things after the opening sketch. Jon Hamm of "Mad Men" was a wonderful host, and the show giddily spoofed that AMC drama a couple of times.
Hamm did everything from play JFK to hawk "John Ham" (ham you eat in a john). Coldplay played three songs and started a fourth as the show went o
Maya Rudolph Goes Barack to "SNL"
Since they've had great success with Tina Fey and Will Ferrell, well placed sources tell us "SNL" is once again bringing back a former cast member ... Maya Rudolph Will play Michelle Obama this weekend.
Besides playing Mrs. O, we're told Maya -- who left the show last November -- Will once again co-star with Amy Poehler in their "Bronx Beat" skit. Oh my gawd!
Tragically, we're told Tina Will not be back playing Sarah Palin on Saturday.
It’s A Boy For Amy Poehler!
Although there has been no official confirmation from her rep, several sources are reporting that Amy Poehler has given birth to a baby boy!
SNL Presents: The Obama Variety Half-Hour [Solid, Solid As Barack]
Even though last's night's episode of SNL suffered a bit from the loss of both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on stage, the great Maya Rudolph returned to play Michelle Obama in a skit poking fun at Barack's upcoming 30 minute television special. With a lead in the polls, the Obamas decide to turn their special into a variety half-hour, complete with musical numbers from Nancy Pelosi, Bill Clinton, Rev. Wright, and the ghost of JFK (played by excellent host, Jon Hamm.) While it certainly wasn't the strongest
Amy Poehler delivers a baby boy
Congratulations to SNL’s Amy Poehler and her husband actor Will Arnett (above). Amy has had her baby, a baby boy, born earlier this evening (Saturday). According to TMZ, Amy Poehler had been in labor all day. Obviously, Amy will not perform on “Saturday Night Live” tonight. She last performed just two days ago on the special “SNL Thursday,” and was rehearsing for tonight right up until Friday, where she was supposed to do a recurring “Bronx Beat” sketch with Maya Ru
