McCain, Obama fight for title of ‘most qualified’
In their first head-to-head debate, Sen. John McCain criticized Sen. Barack Obama as a candidate who “doesn’t understand” the key issues the country faces, and Obama linked McCain to President Bush on several issues.

John McCain Curses at Debate! [McRage]
John McCain, the angriest Presidential candidate ever, has such a total lack of impulse control that he uttered "Horseshit" live onstage at last night's debate. For real! Barack Obama was discussing McCain's seething hatred of the Spanish prime minister when McCain's seething hatred took over his body and caused him to curse Obama out. Or the whole thing could've been an elaborate ploy to showcase his bitter-millionaire-anger to blue collar types bitter over losing jobs and homes, in the hope that they woul
Last Night's Presidential Debate - Daffy vs. Bugs
One candidate was cool and collected. The other appeared to be seething with unexpressed rage and frustration:

Who won debate? TV pundits don't agree on a winner
It was hard to tell if there were more disagreements voiced during the presidential debate between John McCain and Barack Obama or after it on television.
The networks' pundits moved quickly Friday to put into perspective a debate seen by tens of millions of Americans, although a clear winner didn't emerge. It was a reflection of cautiousness, the closeness of the race and the influence of furious spinning by both campaigns.
"There was no knockout, and maybe no knockdown, but McCain was on the offensive
Round One Goes To Obama!
In an evening of high expectations and over 100 million viewers presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama faced off. While both men had shining moments, according to numerous polls at the debate’s conclusion, it was Obama made the best impression taking round one.
The 90-minute debate at the University of Ole Miss was the culmination of a wild, wacky political week which included McCain supposedly suspending his campaign and both him and Obama found themselves in the middle of the discussion
Debate-watch: One-third in top markets
The debate goes on about who won the debate, but the answers are starting to roll in about who was watching John McCain debate Barack Obama last night: One third of all households in the nation's top TV-viewing markets.
In some places, interest was more intense: Missouri is a critical state in this election, and more than half the TVs in St. Louis were tuned in: 52 percent.
Oddly enough, in a contest in which the Republican nominee hails from Phoenix, Arizona, the Phoenix market registered the lowest h

Coward McCain Will (Maybe?) Show Up Tonight, So Here’s Your Debate Drinking Game!
Whew, that was close. Goofy old national joke John “Walnuts!” McCain had threatened to skip tonight’s debate unless he, uh, solved the Financial Crisis. Luckily for us, the 500-year-old clown can’t “keep his word” for more than a few minutes, so of course he’ll be at the debate tonight, unless he changes his mind again, which happens often when you can’t remember what you just said and have no idea what you’re talking about, anyway. So, huzzah, we will g

Chuck Norris Doesn’t Vote In The Election - Chuck Norris IS The Election
”My choice would be John McCain and Sarah Palin mainly because, with Sarah, I think she’d make a good president because she’s a no-nonsense gal and she has much more experience than Barack Obama. Europe now is not infatuated with (Democrat candidate) Barack Obama anymore. They are infatuated with Sarah Palin.”
He is also urging those keen to vote for Obama to look beyond the politician’s charisma.
He tells TV show Extra:

McCain, Obama ad-war: 'Zero, Not Ready'
Barack Obama apparently likes his debate performance enough to be putting some of it up on the air himself - OK, snippets from a 90-minute face-off, sort of like the snippets of Joe Biden that John McCain's campaign is playing against Obama in its own new ad.
How many times did John McCain mention the middle class in those 90 minutes? Zero, says the typescript of a new TV ad that Obama's campaign rolled out today.
"Number of minutes in debate: 90,'' says the announcer. "Number of times John McCain men
Today in Odd McCain Ad Buys [Advertising]
So maybe you've seen this, right? The McCain campaign already bought some ads (we thought they suspended their campaign!) announcing that John McCain won the debate, which happens tonight, and which McCain had not yet even said he'd attend until late today. Great work, guys. Really nice, really professional. But what is more funny is this ad in today's Wall Street Journal (supposedly!). Do you want to buy one of John and Cindy McCain's 500 houses? You are in luck!
Are they being foreclosed on? No wonder

News From The Future: McCain Wins Debate!
The ad to your right appeared today on a Wall Street Journal website. You may not have known this, but the injuries John McCain sustained in ‘Nam while being Tortured For America left him with a curious side-effect: the ability to jump back and forth in time, like a much older version of that guy from Quantum Leap. That’s really the only way I can explain his campaign paying to run ads declaring victory in a debate that hasn’t even occurred yet. In fact, it wasn’t clear until only
Obama, McCain: All things even, Obama
Without a significant gaffe from either debater and with an absence of "memorable lines,'' the debate between Barack Obama and John McCain "did not alter a political landscape that has grown more favorable to Barack Obama this month.''
In that light, says Darrell West, the new director of the Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution, "Obama won the debate.''
West, who recently left Brown University as a professor of political science to take up the study of politics in the capital of politics, wr
Sarah Silverman: The Great Schlep Video
Sarah Silverman used to grace these pages a bit more when she was the subject of pregnancy speculation by one Jimmy Kimmel (or Matt Damon). Then she and Kimmel broke-up and the speculation ended. Then she and Damon stopped f*@%ing, and Silverman rode off into the FameCrawler sunset. Or so we thought. She has a new video and it doesn't involve her being a celebrity parent. It involves her being a celebrity grandkid. Sure, we'll roll with it (because it's funny).
Press Circus: Schmidt Declares Absolute Victory, But Democrats Spin Spain
OXFORD, Miss.—It was hours before Friday night’s debate at the University of Mississippi on the night of September 26 and rows of reporters in a hangar-size white press tent were typing the background and context graphs of their stories. University volunteers circulated, making sure each desk space had free Anheuser Busch notepads (“About one in seven Anheuser-B

What's At Stake For Obama And McCain In Debate Over Foreign Policy, National Security?
Republican Senator John McCain decided Friday morning (September 26) to reverse his earlier request to postpone the first presidential debate with Democratic Senator Barack Obama in order to focus on the current financial crisis. But the dark economic cloud is still looming over the faceoff and will almost surely color whatever issues the two men discuss in Friday's 90-minute debate, which airs live at 9 p.m. ET from the University of Mississippi in Oxford.
Though the agreed-upon main topics will be foreig

The Debate Is ON!
With the White House embroiled in deeply divided dissent over an urgent economic fix, Senator McCain has decided to resume his suspended campaign and take the stage for tonight's nationally televised debate.
With the failed bailout talks still fresh in the public's mind, the debate will probably prove to be yet another battleground for the economic crisis.
As it should!
We need to know what our future leader is going to do about this dreary situation!
Yesterday, things got so heated that President Bush

Sarah Palin: Miss Alaska Pageant Video
Sarah Palin, long before she was the GOP candidate for vice-president, long before she was the governor of Alaska, long before she was the mayor of whatever that town is called, long before she was a TV sports reporter, long before she was a mother or married, she was a beauty queen. She was in the Miss Alaska Pageant, and this is that pageant. Swimsuit edition.Mind you, this is not a post of judgment. I'm not a hater of the beauty pageant. I can't say I've ever wa
