Taken from the January 2009 issue of the magazine by IESB, the first look picture displays "Friday Night Lights" actor Taylor Kitsch being portrayed as Remy LeBeau a.k.a. Gambit throwing a card on what seems to be a gambling table. The image itself can be seen via IESB.
Earlier, "Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman has teased off on what he hopes for the movie's sequel, suggesting that if "Wolverine" saga continues, it may take place in Japan. Of it, he expressed his excitement saying, "Can you just picture Wolverine in Japan with the triads and the samurai? It's just genius." Still, the 40-year-old also stated that if "Wolverine" flops upon its release, he is ready to walk away from the part.
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is a prequel to the "X-Men" trilogy. Its story focuses on chronicling the violent and romantic early life of the titular character, including his participation on the Weapon X program and his complex relationship with Victor Creed. Developed under the direction of "Rendition" helmer Gavin Hood, it sees Liev Schreiber and Ryan Reynol

Empire’s New Cover Will Tear Your Damn Head Off
"I'm going to tear your goddamn head off." That is how the several minute clip ended at Comic-Con, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) making a friendly gesture of war to his arch nemesis Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber). The film is X-Men Origins: Wolverine, from director Gavin Hood, and it is the cover story ...

Wolverine Empire Cover
On the front of January's Empire magazine cover we have a familiar face, in a familiar pose, wearing familiar clothes. Yep...it's Wolverine. Ideally we'd get a few shots of Liev Schreiber's Sabretooth or our first real look at Taylor Kitsch's Gambit, however it seems like we'll have to wait for the good stuff while they give us some new but not entirely unique shots of Wolverine… Continue reading Wolverine Empire Cover...

Hugh Jackman as ‘Wolverine’ on Empire Cover
Along with gracing the cover with claws and mutton chops, Jackman gives some insight as to what fans can expect from the X-Men prequel: “There’s a scene in the first X-Men movie, where Wolverine’s introduced in a bar, fighting in a cage, and you felt that he did this every night of his life. If this movie is successful, you should feel that this guy can walk straight off the end of this film and into that bar.”  Jackman isn’t the only one talking for the cover article. The magazine

First Look: Taylor Kitsch as Gambit in Wolverine
Attendees at Comic Con were lucky to see an early preview of the film which featured Gambit in action. I still think Lost star Josh Halloway would have been a better fit for the character. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artists Jim Lee and Mike Collins, Gambit is skilled in card throwing, hand-to-hand combat, the use of a b?, and possesses the ability to manipulate kinetic energy. Taylor Kitsch Talks Gambit
Taylor Kitsch recently spoke to MediaBlvd Magazine about playing Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He didn’t reveal anything interesting, which was probably due to the huge contract he had to sign promising not to reveal anything interesting. The questions weren’t that great either. Anyhow, here’s the interview: MediaBlvd> Who did you play in that? Taylor> I played a character called Gambit. He’s just another comic book character that has kinetic energy. It’s a fun ro

"Friday Night Lights" Leaves Me In the Dark
Last night was the third season premiere of "Friday Night Lights" - did ya see it? Yeah, I didn't either because instead of premiering on NBC per usual, the series is getting an initial run on DIRECTV and will air on NBC next year. Sure, on the one hand, I love that the show is getting one more chance to redeem itself - last year was one of the most disappointing sophomore seasons in TV history - but I also loathe waiting. I'm not nearly as patient as I might seem. Especially when everything I'm hearing

Kenneth Branagh In Talks To Direct “Thor”
Variety is reporting that Kenneth Branagh is in talks to direct Marvel’s live-action Thor, scheduled to hit theaters in 2010. The move by Marvel is a surprising one, considering Branagh is best known for his Shakespeare adaptations - and this is a whole different set of tights. Still, it continues a recent trend of putting arthouse directors behind the camera for superhero fare (Christopher Nolan, Wolverine’s Gavin Hood), and hopefully the results will be just as impressive. We all know ThorR

More Muscle From 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'
Well, Happy (Almost) Thanksgiving indeed. Between Australia and the flood of X-Men Origins: Wolverine news, you can't turn around without seeing Hugh Jackman's biceps somewhere this week ... not that I'm complaining. How did it take so long for him to be dubbed Sexiest Man Alive, anyway? The physique should have earned it twice over. Anyway, get a peek of Empire's new Wolverine cover, which will be on shelves in December. Click on him to get the whole thing, and tidbits like this from the magazine's tell-a

Branagh Could be Directing ‘Thor’
It’s not officially set in stone just yet, but Kenneth Branagh is in serious negotiations to direct the comic book adaptation of ‘Thor’.  He would be joining Christopher Nolan, Jon Favreau, and Gavin Hood in the class of directors who moved on from art house classics to comic book heroes. Written by Mark Protosevich (’I Am Legend’), ‘Thor’ is about a disabled medical student, Dr. Donald Blake, who discovers his heretofore unknown alter ego, the Norse warrior, Thor

Hugh Jackman Talks Wolverine Movie (Plus A New Pic!)
Things have been quiet on the Wolverine movie front since August, but today Empire Magazine was kind enough to send us a preview of their January issue and it includes a brand new image of a ripped and huge Hugh Jackman as Wolverine from the upcoming movie, plus some new info about how he approached the character, and director Gavin Hood comments about rumors of problems surrounding the film.
