Elvis Costello: A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All is funny and stuffed with music, featuring tuneful visits from Feist, Elvis Costello, Toby Keith, John Legend, Willie Nelson and Jon Stewart. And don't miss Stephen Colbert's duet near the end with his eternal nemesis. (Comedy at 10) Jam session: The awards themselves have little credibility, but the American Music Awards are always star-studded. Jimmy Kimmel hosts and performers include Coldplay, The Jonas Brothers and a host of one-name stars: Beyoncé, Kanye, Mariah, Miley, Christina and Rihanna. (8 p.m. on A) Doesn't suck: Fans still in Twilight fever can catch the season finale of the vampire series True Blood, in which Sookie finds a link to the string of killings and ends up being a target herself. (The Movie Network, HBO Canada, Movie Central at 9) Field day: In its first year strictly on cable, the Grey Cup sees Calgary battle Montreal, with Theory of a Deadman and Suzie McNeil rocking halftime. (TSN at 6) Bringing up the rear: Failing to eat a Kazakh delicacy made mostly of a sheep's backside eliminated Terence and Sarah last week on The Amazing Race; who knows what humiliation awaits globetrotters this week, but here's hoping those pokey frat boys Dan and Andrew get theirs. Stephen Colbert gives thanks for 'Greatest Gift'
Stephen Colbert is happy the election is over so he now can get down to the important work: singing for his first Christmas special, “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All,” airing tomorrow at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central. “I’m pretty damn excited about this Christmas special,” Colbert said. And who wouldn’t be? The hourlong show is not “The Colbert Report” with a Christmas tree and carols. Far from it. The storyline sets a sweater-clad Colber

Colbert Christmas Special To Benefit Charity, Involve Willie Nelson
Only Stephen Colbert could put together a Christmas special I’m remotely interested in watching. (Besides A Charlie Brown Christmas — that will never get old.) It’s either going to be an instant classic, or become as forgettable as that Election Night Special he had with Jon Stewart. Either way, you should consider tuning in for this one reason: There’s going to be a duet between Colbert and Willie Nelson. Called “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” — th

Following the tradition of Andy Williams and Bing Crosby, Colbert hosts his own holiday special in "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All." The hour-long special airs Sunday at 9 p.m. EST and will on Tuesday be released as a DVD, complete with a Yule log of burning books. Clearly in the Christmas spirit, at the first mention of old holiday specials, Colbert launches into renditions of Williams' "Little Altar Boy" and Crosby and D

STEPHEN COLBERT COULD ACTUALLY BE THE PRESIDENT!!
If you lived in the Marvel Universe. :(Here's the good news: Stephen Colbert is running for president in the Marvel Universe. Always looking for the next big thing in television news media — Katie Couric, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Anderson Cooper, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, and Mike Huckabee have all received the treatment — it appears we're ready to move on to our next nominee: Campbell Brown. The NBC veteran who left the network just a couple months after losing the Today show vacancy Couric left to Meredith Vieira, Brown signed with CNN and became a respectable, albeit benign and forgettable, asset. Elvis Costello, Jenny Lewis, Kris Kristofferson, Lou Reed, Rufus Wainwright, She & Him: The Elvis Costello show
Elvis Costello cannot be stopped in his sinister plot to take over the planet. It's apparently not enough that the New Wave pioneer (yes kids, before he earned his thick veneer of respectability he was once a rock & roll enfant terrible) can be seen just about everywhere you look -- here's Elvis duetting with Lucinda Williams on her new album, there he is performing on late-night TV with Jenny Lewis, hey, wait a minute...I've got Elvis in my breakfast cereal!
