Surprising celebrity gets the boot on "Dancing With the Stars"

Orlando Sentinel - 25th Sep 2008

Cloris Leachman: Cloris Leachman stands to dance another week. The 82-year-old Oscar-winner passed the first week's two-dance test. So, too, did reality star Kim Kardashian, who was wooden Tuesday night. She should have been ejected. But on Wednesday, the show divorced itself from Ted McGinley, a star of "Married ... With Children." He was the second star given the boot; comedian Jeffrey Ross was the first to go Tuesday night. ABC devoted five hours to the dance contest this week. Monday's opener attracted 21.3 million viewers, and Tuesday's edition drew 18.3 million. The one-hour Wednesday results show probably did well, too, with Jonas Brothers and Jesse McCartney performing. Beyond the numbers, the seventh season is of Read full story at Orlando Sentinel

Dancing With The Stars: Brooke Burke's Amazing Bod (Video)
The new season of Dancing With The Stars has started and although I'm not a regular watcher, I did catch the first show.  Brooke Burke is one of the 'stars' on the show, and I think she danced well - I was slightly preoccupied with her abs, so I'm not 100% sure of her dancing abilities.  The woman is a mom of four and the youngest is only 6 months old!  Watch the video and you too, will hate her.  Ha.Video after the jump!Lotsa cleavage going on too.

Dancing With the Stars: See Who Flopped on Last Night's Premiere
Cloris Leachman received a lousy 16. (Her reaction to her low score had to be censored. "They can't even add up the numbers, they're so stupid here," she seethed. She later told Usmagazine.com: "I just get caught up in the moment! What a dumb score!") See what the new DWTS cast looked like years ago. Soap legend Susan Lucci nabbed a 15, which celeb chef Rocco DiSpirito took home a pathetic 14. But the lowest score - 12 - went to comedian Jeffrey Ross, who suffered a scratched cornea after his partner Ed

Dancing With the Stars 7: A Surprise Elimination!
Tonight was a big surprise to me. I thought Ted McGinley did a very nice job of learning the steps and bringing a masculine grace to the dance floor. I thought he underestimated how well he really did do. That’s a shame. And I guess America wasn’t as impressed as they could be either. I was totally expecting to see either Cloris or Kim go home this week instead. Before the elimination, though, we got to see Jeff Ross & Edyta Sliwinska perform the dance they practiced but didn’t get

Dancing With The Stars: Week 1 Results
Filed under: Celebrities, Dancing With The Stars, Episode Recaps(S07E03) We're really getting back into the swing of things now. After the whirlwind of 25 performances in two nights, it was time for a proper results show. As usual, that's both good and bad. Results shows always hold the prospect of musical guests, and professional numbers. Unfortunately, they also have a tendency to bring iffy comedy bits, and dull taped packages. It's a bit of a crapshoot, but usually worth tuning in. Because, as we all

Dancing with the Stars 7: Top 12 Results
Dancing with the Stars picked off a huge week with two consecutive nights of exciting performances. There were standard dances, flashy Latin dances, good dances, bad dances and more than one inappropriate sexual or monetary bribe (I'm looking at you, Cloris Leachman!). And tonight, the fun continued with the first Dancing with the Stars results show of the season. The first elimination of the season actually occurred last night when Jeffrey Ross and Edyta Sliwinska were shown the door. However, they were

Ted McGinley leaves Dancing; even its judges don't understand elimination show order
At the end of its fifth hour of the week, Dancing with the Stars 7 eliminated its second celebrity: Ted McGinley. In part because it featured The Jonas Brothers and very little Cloris Leachman, it was long, drawn-out, and relatively boring. To maintain drama, those who’d received the lowest scores from the judges were saved early on, while apparently favorites such as Lance Bass were kept around until the end. And they were kept around, because the show’s eliminations remove contestants from

Another One Bites the Dust on DWTS
It was my favorite mambo Kind Ted McGinley, better known as Jefferson from Married with Children. I could sense the Latino heat from his Latino/Irish roots, but it wasn’t enough. It came down to him and Tony Braxton, but we all know that Toni is one of the favorites for the show. I was rooting for the guy. He strikes my as an “Everyman” kind of guy. He said it himself, “”I was looking forward to dancing more,” McGinley went on to say: “I know there’s a lot of guys at home s

‘Married with Children’ Star Ted McGinley Kicked off ‘Dancing with the Stars’
When his third-lowest score of 19/30 was combined with viewer votes, Married with Children star Ted McGinley was sent home from Dancing with the Stars. The actor and his professional partner, Inna Brayer, were eliminated Wednesday from ABC’s dancing competition. “It’s been a lot of fun,” McGinley said after the announcement of his departure. “You know, I know there’s a lot of guys sitting at home with a beer in their hand having a little chuckle at me. You know what? Than

An Open Letter To Lance Bass, Inspired By His Performance On Last Night’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’
I will be honest. Until recently Dancing With the Stars was nothing more to me than another reality show where sports stars I wouldn’t otherwise be able to identify went to breathe one last breath into their dying careers. But with the inimitable Cloris Leachman, Kim Kardashian’s rear, and, of course, you, Lance Bass, starring on this season’s show, I knew I had to give it a shot. And Lance Bass, after your performance last night, Tom Bergeron read my mind when he said why couldn’t

Jeffrey Ross Sent Packing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
No big shocker here… Comedian Jeffrey Ross and partner Edyta Sliwinska were the first couple to get kicked off this season of Dancing with the Stars. I was pretty surprised with his graciousness and humility throughout the whole thing. Unlike Cloris Leachman, he was never rude or inappropriate. On Good Morning America this morning, Edyta publicly apologized for hurting his eye and he wanted no part of the apology. He was just happy to get to be part of the show. And the producers are even going to let

Jeffrey Ross Cha-Cha-Cha’s out the door on Dancing with the Stars.
Comedian Jeffrey Ross didn’t get a second chance to quick step on “Dancing with the Stars.” The comedian and his professional partner Edyta Sliwinska were the first couple eliminated Tuesday from the seventh season of ABC’s DWTS. Jefferey could always blame his injury on the low score and elimination. He had to wear an eye patch because during practice his partner poked him in the eye. “What a nightmare,” he joked, waiting most of the two-hour show Tuesday night to get

ET’s backstage with Helio Castroneves at ‘DWTS’
ET’s special correspondent Helio Castroneves was backstage on night three of ABC’s "Dancing With The Stars" premiere week, where he spoke with Ted McGinley moments after he got the news that he was eliminated from the show! "I feel really bad for Inna," Ted tells Helio. "My partner’s been carrying me, this huge bag of bricks, and I’ve been asking for eight-hour days every day because I know I need a lot of time." Watch Helio get more backstage scoop

Cloris Leachman On Carrie Ann Inaba: 'Oh, You Bitch' [Old People Swearing]
newVideoPlayer("/cloris5_def.flv", 506, 423,"");Hollywood may be a youth-obsessed industry, but that doesn't mean we can't find it in our hearts to celebrate a salty old battle axe like Cloris Leachman. In fact, now that the Oscar-winning octogenarian has been added to the cast of Dancing with the Stars, we may have to start watching with regularity — especially if she continues to curse up a storm on the family show, as she did last night. Presented with what she felt was a low score by judge Carrie

Cloris Leachman steals the show on ‘Dancing’
The glitter, the glitz and the all-important cheese factor were back in full force Monday, as “Dancing with the Stars” kicked off night one of a three-night premiere event. Tom “the host with the most” Bergeron was once again joined by his sidekick, Samantha “at least she tries” Harris, to welcome the biggest selection of ballroom wannabes the show has ever seen. By the end of the evening, all 13 stars had strutted their stuff for the judges, and as always, the ballroom divide was evident from t
