Recent cancer survivor Christina Applegate joined fellow survivors Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge along with a who's who of Hollywood Friday night at the star-studded TV fundraiser, "Stand Up to Cancer," as they raised big bucks for charity.

Celebrities touched by cancer in some way got together for “Stand Up to Cancer,” an hour-long, commercial-free fundraising show aired simultaneously on NBC, ABC and CBS. Tonight at 8pm EST, all three major broadcast networks — ABC, CBS, and NBC — will air a star-filled special called Stand Up to Cancer. The purpose of the one-hour program is to publicize the growing campaign to help make cancer a thing of the past in the future.

At 8pm EST tonight, the three major broadcast networks ABC, CBS, and NBC will do something different that they’ve also done in the last two weeks during the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. All will air the same star-filled special called Stand Up to Cancer, a one-hour program that aims to publicize the worldwide campaign to help make cancer history.

Stand Up to Cancer took over the network television airwaves for an hour on Friday to raise money for cancer research, and a star-studded crew was on hand to lend their support.
Cancer survivors Sharon Osbourne, Christina Applegate, Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge were among the superstars gathered.
Also spotted were Jennifer Garner sporting her baby bump, newlywed Ellen DeGeneres, and Latinolicious film star Salma Hayek.

Jennifer Garner Stands Up To Cancer
The stars showed up in force Friday night for the multi-network special "Stand Up To Cancer." The celebrity-studded fundraiser was all about raising awareness and money for cancer research. We've all lost someone we know to cancer. I made a donation in memory of my grandmother and stepfather. And while I was a tad disappointed that I didn't get to talk to Jennifer Garner and her baby bump on the phone bank, I suppose the bigger picture prevails.
