Michael Vick: Looks like Michael Vick is a lot more disturbed than anyone could have imagined. In just released report, a person identified as confidential witness No. 1 says Vick actually placed family pets in the ring against pit bulls owned by "Bad Newz Kennels" and watched as the animals ruthlessly attacked the domesticated dogs causing "major injuries." The witness went on to say that Vick "thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs injure or kill the other dogs." A convicted co-defendant in the case said there were times he suggested dogs unwilling to fight be let go, but Vick insisted "they got to go," meaning they need to be killed. Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison in Dec. 2007, and is set to be released from the federal prison at Leavenworth, Kan., on July 20, 2009. See Also Vick's Dogs: You Want Fleas with That Wine? Michael Vick’s Abused Pit Bulls Are Given A New Leash On Life
If there’s anything that upsets me as much as the abuse of innocent children or the elderly, it is the abuse of innocent animals.  I’ve done many posts here dealing with the outrages of pet/animal abuse, and it is my opinion that anyone who treats a poor creature in this manner doesn’t deserve to walk the streets free. That is why it is nice to see an article such as the one I read this morning, on the pit bulls owned by former Atlanta Falcon Michael Vick.  Michael, if you recall, was t

Review: 'DogTown': 'The Michael Vick Dogs'
It has been a summer of awe-inspiring, thought-provoking spectacle on television. First the Summer Olympics, then the Democratic and Republican national conventions and now the return of "DogTown." If that sounds sarcastic or snarky, it isn't meant to. The two-hour season premiere of the popular National Geographic Channel show is titled "Saving the Michael Vick Dogs," and if there were such a thing as an Olympics for animal rescue and rehabilitation, this would be it. Last December, the Atlanta Falcons'

Blackface Is Not Okay… Even On Halloween
Ghouls and goblins, candy corn, jack-o-lanterns, and, yes, racial and ethnic insensitivity — they're all features of this unique, random holiday we call Halloween. The costumes and candy are all good, but that racist part is really ruining the fun. But doesn't it always? At this point, anyone who claims not to know that it's not okay to dress up in blackface is either lying to themselves or everyone else. That doesn't mean that we won't see tons of that sort of thing all ove
