Sen. Barack Obama to be a guest on Thursday's "O'Reilly Factor"
Orlando Sentinel - 3rd Sep 2008
Barack Obama: Obama and
O'Reilly -- how does that sound?
Yes, I realize
Bill would like first billing, but
Barack is a presidential candidate, after all.
You'll see the two together on Thursday's "O'Reilly Factor." Sen.
Barack Obama will make his first appearance on cable news' most-watched program at 8 that evening on Fox News Channel.
The interview will be conducted earlier Thursday in York, Pa. The first part airs Thursday, with more to come on later shows. Fox News says
O'Reilly will ask about domestic issues, Iran, Iraq and
Obama's political career. It seems like a smart move by
Obama to appear on
O'Reilly's show on the night
John McCain will accept the Republican nomination.
Fox News is usually seen as the favorite stop for Republicans. If you doubt that, look at the ratings for Friday, the day
McCain announced Gov.
Sarah Palin as his running mate. In prime time that night, Fox easily won with 3.5 million viewers. CNN ran second with 1.7 million. MSNBC was third with 1.1 million.
MSNBC's
Keith Olbermann will have
Obama next week. The Democratic presidential candidate visits "Countdown" at 8 p.m. Monday. It will be
Obama's first "Countdown" interview since March.

Ron Fournier's Brand of Associated Press Coverage: Bash Obama, Praise McCain
'An Associated Press analysis of Barack Obama's widely praised (across the political spectrum) speech last Thursday drew much criticism from liberals and media critics last week for its dour tone. Would the AP offer the same kind of muted response to Sarah Palin's big address on Wednesday night? Not exactly. The article by Tom Raum and Liz Sidoti opened: "Sarah Palin delivered. An embattled vice presidential candidate, a novice on the national stage, the head of a family suffering its

The Obama/O'Reilly Smackdown is ON
Barack Obama acquiesced and agreed to appear on The O'Reilly Factor, after much taunting and mashing of teeth from Billbo himself — and a little intervention with Roger Ailes.
Trap? Perhaps. But Obama's visit to the Fox newsroom for the first time will happen tonight, as O'Reilly teased during much of last night's show.
That's tonight, as in the final night of the RNC, when John McCain will be making his nomination speech. Watching beady-eyed Bill lob cheap shots at Obama is
"Sarah Palin calls John McCain 'McDreamy'..." [Fantasies]
Yesterday we described some of our 2008 campaign fantasies and asked you to do the same. And many of you did! We got stories that ranged from the terrifyingly (and depressingly) believable to the so out-there that only someone who doesn't believe in science could, uh, believe them. Our favorites are after the jump.

Ben Stein Repulsed By Sarah Palin, Thinks Henry Kissinger Should ‘Babysit’ Her
Here’s teevee’s Ben Stein, the funny conservative author and Nixon/Ford speechwriter best known for that game show and yelling at Matthew Broderick in the 1980s. He is not impressed with Sarah Palin. No matter what weird causes Ben Stein supports, he has never been very forgiving of total idiots.

Obama's lead on McCain 'undented'
ST. PAUL - Barack Obama's apparent advantage over John McCain is "undented'' near the conclusion of the Republican National Convention, Gallup reports.
Obama continues to lead McCain by 49 to 42 percent in the latest Gallup Poll daily tracking survey.
The results are based on interviewing Sept. 1-3. The daily track carries a possible margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent.
"The vast majority of interviews on Wednesday evening were conducted before Sarah Palin gave her much-anticipated conve
Will Sarah Palin Scare the Jews? [Campaigns]
We think the conventional wisdom, now, is that Sarah Palin is a cynical appeal not to Hillary voters but to the Republican "base," which means religious white people. It's a last-ditch effort to win just one more with George W. Bush's coalition, not to bring in those moderates John McCain supposedly appeals to most. But here's the risk: the old, conservative Jewish vote McCain's had in the bag since day one? They might not like this lady so much. As you can see in this clip (attached below), even Ben Stein&
McCain, Obama to Appear at Columbia on 9/11
Columbia University president Lee Bollinger confirmed that presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama will appear together at the university for a forum sponsored by ServiceNation. The Columbia Spectator describes ServiceNation as a "non-partisan coalition devoted to increasing the commitment of citizens to public service to 100 million people by 2010."
The forum will be on September 11 evening (it is not a debate), and the candidates agreed not to campaign that day out of respect for 9/11 vict

Sarah Palin's Speech: Full Of LIES!
The Associated Press closely watched Governor Sarah Palin, the GOP's VP pick, at last night's RNC convention and has outlined the many ways she exaggerated and lied.
Right or Left, a lie is a lie. It doesn't matter where on the political spectrum you are, right?
These are not 'personal' digs, mind you.
She's lying on the 'professional' stage, y'all.

Pundits Agree: Sarah Palin is a Freakin' Supernova
Sarah Palin bashed Barack Obama, which most pundits didn't expect, or advise. She also lobbed some decent punchlines at the talking head class, and for that, we appreciate her. But how did the folks who are paid to over-analyze these type of things, and who were on The Receiving End of her taunts, respond to her words?
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann: "People who like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like."
MSNBC's Chris Matthews: "At no time, during her entir

Sarah Palin Questions Obama's Experience At Republican National Convention
ST. PAUL, Minnesota — A week ago, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was barely a blip on the national political map. But with one biting address to the Republican National Convention Wednesday night, Palin rose above the din surrounding her low profile and emerged as one of the new stars of the Republican Party.
On Tuesday night, President Bush praised presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain as a maverick unafraid to go his own way and who makes decisions that don't toe any part
