Sarah Palin: Response to Vice President Biden's Comments Today About My Position On Energy Independence

Facebook - 2nd Nov 2009

Sarah Palin: As the vice president knows, I have always advocated an all-of-the-above approach to American Energy Independence. Among other things, my alternative Energy goal for Alaska sits at 50 percent because Alaska reached more than 20 percent during my term in office. The Obama-Biden administration, on the other hand, recently announced a renewable goal of only 25 percent. However, domestic drilling should remain a top priority in order to meet America's consumption and security needs. The vice... Read full story at Facebook

Palin Wanted to Campaign in Michigan
Sarah Palin was loath to cede Michigan to the Obama campaign last year and pressed McCain aides for weeks to let her go to the state, according to an excerpt of Sarah From Alaska . "If there's any time, Todd and I would love a quick return to Michigan—we'd tour the plants, etc.," she wrote in an email. "I hate to see us leave Michigan." According to the book, Palin's feelings about Michigan were so strong, in fact, that McCain campaign manager Rick Davis attempted to order Secret Service...

In a Terrifying Alternate Universe, Vice President Sarah Palin Claims Victory [Alternate History]
On election night, Sarah Palin threatened to "go Rogue" by delivering a speech someone else wrote for her, but John McCain refused so she didn't. Now you can read the addresses — both concession and victory — she would've given. The Daily Beast has an excerpt from Sarah from Alaska , a new Palin bio , with the speeches writer Matt Scully wrote for her on election night: A concession speech in which she lauded "black citizen" Barack Obama for winning, and a victory speech in which...

Robo-Palin Gets Into Va. Gov's Race
Virginia voters are getting recorded advice from Sarah Palin on how to vote in tomorrow’s gubernatorial election. The former Alaska Governor’s robocall doesn’t mention GOP candidate Bob McDonnell by name—he’s been loath to accept support from the polarizing figure—but the message appears clear, CNN reports. “Vote to share our principles,” the message goes. “Vote your values on Tuesday.”

Palin's Lost Concession Speech
'Twas a year ago tomorrow that John McCain’s team forbade Sarah Palin from delivering a concession speech, and a new book, Sarah From Alaska , gives you the chance to finally find out what she planned to say. Some highlights, from the Daily Beast :

NY-23: How Sarah Palin Stands to Win (and Charlie Crist Stands to Lose): PHOTO
Much has been made over the special election in New York's 23 rd Congressional District. For some, the attention might seem a bit much, given that it is merely one of 435 House seats. In reality, this race is about much more than one House seat. It is a proxy battle in the long-running war between establishment Republicans and grassroots conservatives. Although GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava endorsed the Democrat over Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, after quitting the race with three...

"Sarah Palin thinks the answer to energy is -Drill, baby, drill,' " Biden said at a rally this afternoon. Then he leaned in to the microphone: "It's a lot more complicated, Sarah." Biden...

Palin's GOP Brand: Exclusionary and Short-Sighted, But Who Will Stop It?: PHOTO
It's one thing when Sarah Palin "goes rogue" as a candidate campaigning for herself and her running-mate. It's another thing entirely when she does it as the charismatic, free-lance leader of a grassroots army. There's a direct line between Palin, the most famous Republican to endorse conservative third-party congressional candidate Doug Hoffman in Tuesday's special election in New York, and moderate Republican assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava's stunning decision Saturday to suspend her campaign....

CNN: Palin, Tea Party Protesters 'Driving Moderates Out of GOP': PHOTO
On Monday's AC360, CNN's Anderson Cooper forwarded the media's new talking point about the New York 23 congressional race, that “ Tea Party protesters and other conservative voices are...driving moderates out of the GOP .” Correspondent Tom Foreman continued on this note, stating that “ angry conservatives ...[are] forcing the party to choose between...its base and attracting more moderate Americans .” Cooper led the 10 pm Eastern hour of his program with the question, “Does the...

"If I Wanted To Crush 'Em, I Could": PHOTO
Levi keeps upping the ante on what he says he knows about Sarah Palin. At this point, it's obviously a way for him to get access to his son, Tripp. But he makes several insinuations: that whatever he knows, it implies abuse of power, and "maybe" could destroy someone's political career. He sticks by his claim that Sarah called Trig "the retarded baby," denies any Domestic Violence in the house, and continues to lobby for access to his son that he says Palin is...

Literary Vices, with Rudolph Delson: Edmund Muskie's -Journeys'
Literary Vices, with Rudolph Delson: Edmund Muskie's 'Journeys' To while away the days until the publication of Sarah Palin's 'Going Rogue' Memoir on November 17th, Rudolph Delson is reviewing the American vice presidential literary canon. Here is the quintessence of vice-presidential literature. It is 1972. It was four years ago that President Lyndon Johnson decided not to seek re-election. It was four years ago that Sirhan Sirhan shot Bobby Kennedy dead. It was four...

Palin book 'Rogue' expected to do well
WASHINGTON, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- The upcoming release of former Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin 's book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," should be met with impressive sales, an expert said. Mary Matalin , editor-in-chief of Threshold Editions, said the book that earned the former Republican vice presidential candidate an advance as much as $1.25 million is due for release on Nov. 17 in the wake of additional works about the political figure, McClatchy Newspapers reported Sunday. SPATWATCH: Biden vs. Palin
Attention: Saturday Night Live , time to hit the Tina Fey speed-dial because Sarah Palin and Joe Biden are at it again. Commentators were quick to recall the heavily parodied 2008 vice-presidential candidate debate as they reported on the latest volley of insults exchanged by the VP and the former Governor of Alaska. The spat flared up on Monday in the midst of the already wild, unpredictable Congressional race in New York District 23 . Speaking at a campaign rally for Democratic candidate Bill...

Limbaugh 'Handpicked' Hoffman: Biden
Joe Biden took aim at a variety of GOP and conservative opponents today at a rally for New York congressional candidate Bill Owens. The VP said Conservative candidate Douglas Hoffman was “handpicked” by Rush Limbaugh, adding that Hoffman is in line with conservatives like Sarah Palin who “will not tolerate” dissenting views, the Watertown Daily Times reports. Stand back!

Palin In New Jersey?: PHOTO
A reader writes: FYI, I received robocalls from both Palin and Steve Forbes (remember him?) in the last couple of days here in New Jersey. Palin, in her call, was careful not to name the Republican candidate, Chris Christie, by name (for whatever reason), but urged me to "vote my values" on Tuesday. These included traditional marriage and lower taxes. Whatever. I'm pulling the lever for Corzine, though I'm not a Democrat (I'm an Independent). Christie and the Palinites scare me. "Voting Sarah's...

The Sarah Palin Speeches: PHOTO
Comedy = Time + Distance. What if ridiculous idiot Sarah Palin was elected to the second most powerful position in America? What kind of victory speech would she have given? Would it have been classic Sarah? You betcha! Was their a last minute showdown between McCain and staffers to prevent her from delivering a babbling concession speech? You betcha!

What Happens In NY-23 Now? Ctd: PHOTO
A reader writes: The post from the North Country native was a wild oversimplification of the district.  I went to school in the district and worked the state Senate special election last year which put in a Democrat.  This area is not Palin country.  I live in Virginia now, "Real Virginia"...I know Palin country. There is an "us vs them" mentality in Upstate NY, but it's more about wanting to be represented by someone who is one of them--someone with...
