What About the Veeps?
So after the first presidential debate, where did the vice presidential candidates end up? On the Republican side, Gov. Sarah Palin was not on any network. But Sen. Joe Biden made the rounds. He began with NBC before 11pmET and the end of the network broadcasts. His next stop — an interview with Chris Wallace on FNC. He also appeared on MSNBC with Keith Olbermann:

The Debate That Changed Earth (Not Really)
John McCain actually showed up! And, well, he did a bit better than we expected, if only because we expected that Obama would greet him with, “Nice of you to finally show up, pussy.” But that wouldn’t really win over the special people who just started watching the teevee to find out who is going to be the president next time around. And yet, Obama won!
Well, whatever, Joe Biden is on the Keith Olbermann show on MSNBC. Biden is laughing and, who knows, drunk? Ah they are still doing spin.

Drunk On Hope, Pat O’Brien Dials The Whole ‘ET’/'Insider’ Company [Priorities]
Duck-voiced veteran showbiz reporter Pat O'Brien will never fully escape the looming shadow of the Let's Get Crazy Get Some Coke voice mail, the shocking nasty-talk contained therein forever tarnishing the integrity of his fine work on countless fawning Jamie Foxx profiles and Anna Nicole Smith C-section video narrations. He entered rehab shortly after, then again in 2008, at which point Donny Osmond was pulled in to replace him—but after Osmond refused the position, O'Brien returned to his post. He's

Pat O’Brien is no longer an ‘Insider’.
When we told you that Pat O’Brien from the ‘Insider’ sent out a controversial e-mail at the beginning of the week, we were pretty sure this would be the end result. Pat O’Brien has been fired. He pretty much predicted his own fate when he wrote it, saying he would most likely “get killed for this”.”
In case you missed it…..

Joe Biden Encourages Man In Wheelchair To ‘Stand Up’
Oh God Joe Biden is hilarious. He cannot go more than 45 minutes without saying something incredibly awkward. Fortunately, he is so used to making embarrassing remarks that he’s like, “Enh, well, start the clock again people!” and just moves on to the next GAFFE. His Secret Service code name is Gaffey McGaffesalot, because he makes so many gaffes, even in his dreams where he makes rude remarks to articulate wheelchair-bound Indian operators of 7/11s while plagiarizing the Constitution. "Stand Up For Chuck!" [Awkward]
At a campaign event Joe Biden calls on a Missouri state senator to stand up and be recognized. And then the Democratic vice-presidential candidate realizes that local pol Chuck Graham is wheelchair-bound. Worse, Obama's running mate compounds the embarrassment by urging the crowd to stand up instead: "Stand up for Chuck!" Awkward. [via Daily Intel]

Sarah Palin: Obama Is "Regretting" Not Picking Hillary Clinton for VP
Sarah Palin says Barack Obama might be having second thoughts about selecting Joe Biden as his running mate over Hillary Clinton.
"I think he's regretting not picking her now, I do," the Alaska governor told ABC News anchor Charles Gibson in the third part of their interview.
"What, what determination, and grit, and even grace through some tough shots that were fired her way -- she handled those...
Pat O'Brien: Only I Can Save Iowans From Vomiting [Gossip]
It turns out that frequently rehabbed former Insider host and overall smarmy dude Pat O'Brien is an underminer. And one remarkably lacking in self-awareness, at that! We really expect more from men with mustaches. See, Pat just got back from Iowa—he's "a little bit of a favorite son there"—and met the real people. To help them (somehow?), he decided to email this undermine-spirational message to everyone at The Insider and Entertainment Tonight:
"Hi, folks, I just spent a couple of days in Io
Greta, Charlie, Katie, Sean, Reporting Live From Inside the Palin Bubble
On Saturday, Sept. 6, Drew Griffin, a correspondent for CNN, arrived with his camera crew at the home of Chuck Heath, the father of Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin.
Mr. Griffin was there for an interview. He had landed in Wasilla, Alaska, three days earlier, fresh off the Hurricane Gustav story, and was now charged with reporting on the life of the charismatic Alaska governor for a CNN documentary to be called Sarah Palin Revealed. There, alongside the driveway of Alaska’s first dad, Mr. Griffin saw somethin
McCain, Obama ad-war: 'Zero, Not Ready'
Barack Obama apparently likes his debate performance enough to be putting some of it up on the air himself - OK, snippets from a 90-minute face-off, sort of like the snippets of Joe Biden that John McCain's campaign is playing against Obama in its own new ad.
How many times did John McCain mention the middle class in those 90 minutes? Zero, says the typescript of a new TV ad that Obama's campaign rolled out today.
"Number of minutes in debate: 90,'' says the announcer. "Number of times John McCain men

Joe Biden’s Strange Quote of the Day
In New Hampshire, Joe Biden was talking about Hillary Clinton and said that “she is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States.”
He added, “It [she] might have been a better pick than me.”
There’s truth in Joe Biden’s “humor!”

Joe Biden Televises Roosevelt’s Great Depression
“When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed,” Biden told Couric. “He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’”
As Reason’s Jesse Walker footnotes offer:
“And if you owned an experimental TV set in 1929, you would have seen him. And you would have said to yourself, ‘Who is that guy? What happened to President Hoover?’”

Biden: 'Need more than a brave soldier'
by James Oliphant
GREENSBORO, N.C.--Well, somebody thinks Barack Obama showed his commander-in-chief bona fides at last night's presidential debate.
But if that person is Joe Biden, does it still count?
"This was supposed to be John McCain's turf and Barck Obama owned it last night," Biden told the crowd gathered here Saturday afternoon.
Biden, introducing Obama, to the rally was in full attack-dog mode, hammering McCain in foreign policy and economic issues. He repeatedly yelled...
The Insider’s Pat O’Brien Fired
Pat O’Brien, who was demoted from host of “The Insider,” after several stints in rehab, has been fired after an email sent Monday to his staff stating that middle class Americans “want to vomit” watching his replacement, Lara Spencer, picking out accessories.
The e-mail read:
“Hi, folks, I just spent a couple of days in Iowa - I’m a little bit of a favorite son there - and I spoke with maybe a thousand people and was very hands-on. Even Joe Biden said, ‘Y

Clinton, McCain, Biden Dying Of Mystery Illnesses
Every white male in politics over the age of 50 has some awful illness, according to various rumors on the Internet. Joe Biden had two aneurysms operated on 20 years ago, so obviously he is due for another so that he can step down and Hillary Clinton can be Barack Obama’s vice president. Meanwhile, Bill Clinton’s thumb was shaking on various evening talk shows this week, so he’s about dead. Probably Parkinson’s.
And then John McCain…well, we all know he’s just a reanimat

Michelle Obama: 'The greatest gift'
Access Hollywood, that arbiter of all things political, as long as celebrities are involved - and these days political spouses count -- grabbed an interview with the wives of the Democratic presidential ticket, Michelle Obama and Jill Biden.
"You know,'' Michelle Obama said, offering a little personal investment advice about the time she is investing away from the family in the campaign, "there is no investment more important than making sure that Barack and Joe (Biden) get to the White House. That is
Obama to Biden: Please quit talking!
You just have to wonder when the day of campaigning is done and Barack Obama nervously reviews what his running mate, Joe Biden, had to say on the campaign trail if he doesn’t call him and do his best impersonation of Chris Farley saying, “I wish you could just shut your big YAPPER!”
With Joe Biden on the road, the hits just keep on coming.

Chris Rock, politically incorrect, again
OK, so I'm late to the party on Chris Rock's appearance on David Letterman Monday night in which the comedian took out after former President Bill Clinton for not doing enough to promote Sen. Barack Obama's presidential candidacy. I only caught up with it today.
But I'm sure others haven't seen it, so that's my excuse for putting up today.
Anyway, the former president spent many minutes lauding Sen. Joe Biden and, of course, threw his wife's name in the conversation fairly frequently. He did say he su
McCain camp proposes pushing debate back a week to St. Louis
McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there's no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, Oct. 2, in St. Louis.
In this scenario, the vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin would be rescheduled for a date yet to be determined, and take place in Oxford, Miss., currently slated to be the
