Sarah Palin: Bill Maher says Free Levi @ www.FreeLevi.org

celebgalz.com - 20th Sep 2008

Sarah Palin: Sarah Palin said that Bristol Palin, 17, and Levi Johnston, 18, had always intended to get married. So their parenthood fell in line with their intentions. However, many major media, quoting anonymous sources, said Levi Johnston bawked at the idea of getting married at such a young age. Bill Maher has read all about this and he took his own initiative to do something. The story gets better. Don’t go away… Sources said Bristol Palin absolutely refused to get married before her baby was born. The sources stopped short at saying she refused to get married at all. We have all read Levi Johnston was repulsed at the idea of getting married and he did not want kids. Read Bill Maher and his argument on why people should free Levi. Read full story at celebgalz.com

Bill Maher honored to be 'Emmy's biggest loser'
He's had 19 past defeats at the Emmys, but you can tell from watching our discussion of this topic with "Religulous" director Larry Charles (a two-time Emmy winner for "Seinfeld") that Maher is, underneath it all, at least a bit irked. Note that he mentions that his Emmy losing streak might not matter if he wins an Oscar for "Religulous" as best documentary. That's possible, by the way. We huddled up at the Toronto Film Festival to discuss "Religulous" actually —

Tom-O chats up Larry Charles and “gangsta” Bill Maher
It’s awesome to hear Maher talk about his infamous streak of Emmy losses here. It’s doubtful he’ll break the streak this year, but dammit, give this man the award. I’d say he’s probably deserved it year in and year out, with the exception of a few Jon Stewart victories: Related posts Ridiculous ‘Religulous’: Variety is a believer Vacancy New Toronto films announced Tags: Bill Maher, Larry Charles, Religulous | Filed in: Daily

TIFF Interview: Bill Maher of 'Religulous'
Even after debuting Religulous, his new docu-comedy about faith in the modern world directed by Larry Charles (Borat), Bill Maher still has plenty of questions of his own: "I was saying to Larry in the car on the way over here: I suddenly realized that I don't know the relationship between the Devil and the Antichrist. Do you? I mean, we both know those terms, but they're not the same guy, I don't think. I'm not sure if the Devil works for the Antichrist? Or the Antichrist for the Devil? Or is it like the J

Loose Lips [Heidi Montag]
Today was Heidi Montag's 22nd birthday. Apparently she received a cake that said "Happy Birthday Princess Heidi" and remarked on Ryan Seacrest's radio show recently, "I want, like, four [kids]. Maybe I'll adopt 10. I want to have my own orphanage like Mother Teresa." 22? She sounds closer to 12 with this princess, Mother Teresa nonsense. • Comedic superstars unite! Iraqi Ayatollah’s Website Hacked By Bill Maher Loyalist Militia
While FBI and Secret Service agents continue to investigate how Sarah Palin could be so retarded as to choose “Wasilla high” as the answer to her “Forgot your password?” question on Yahoo! e-mail, another (less important) “hacking” has rocked America’s most placid colony, Iraq. The website of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, the most powerful ever Shia cleric, has been pillaged by a gang of rascally Internet teenagers called “Group XP,” named to honor the

Newly ascendant MSNBC host Rachel Maddow's show actually beat shouty colleague Keith Olbermann's in the ratings on Tuesday night, 1.8 million viewers to 1.64 million. This proves that our earlier prediction of her success was totally correct, and also that America's love affair with lesbians just keeps getting hotter. Bill Maher anti-pontiff rant fuels outrage
Angry Catholics and politicians want HBO comedian Bill Maher to apologize for linking the Pope to the Nazis and calling him the head of "a child-abusing religious cult." Rep. Vito Fossella (R-S.I.) and five other Republicans dispatched a letter yesterday to HBO President Sue Naegle griping that Maher "crossed the line of decency." "On behalf of the millions of Catholics in the United States and throughout the world, we are appalled by Mr. Maher's statements," the lawmakers wrote. "We are also dis

Bill Maher's Religulous Moves to October
Lionsgate's world religions doc Religulous, helmed by Larry Charles ("Borat") and starring Bill Maher, has been moved from an early summer release to October 3rd, according to Variety. Described as "the nonfiction film about the greatest fiction ever told," doc was initially set for a dual release in Los Angeles and Gotham on June 20 and nationwide on July 2. Explaining his impetus to make the film, Maher said: "I wanted to make a documentary, and I wanted it to be funny. In fact, since there is nothi

Andrew Sullivan takes Bill Maher to task on religion
As much as I love and respect every perspective Bill Maher has on current events, I have been and remain skeptical that his upcoming film “Religulous” will represent any effort on his part to open up a bit from his skewed, incredibly insulting and borderline ignorant stance on the subject of faith and religion. As a believer in faith if not the organization of same, I’ve expressed these concerns before, but I was so happy to see someone really try to go toe-to-toe with Maher on his show,

STFU, Pose And Pout
I was a Kerry Washington fan until about 2-3 weeks ago when she appeared on Real Time With Bill Maher and she came across as a snobby, arrogant, know-it-all who kept talking over the guests. It was like, her opinion was the only opinion that should have been heard. She also had the never to say that pregnancy/abortion is NOT A CHOICE!!! WTF? Ummm, perhaps Kerry didn’t get the memo alerting her to the fact that we’re in 2008 not 1914, women have choices today. Kerry girl, you’re super

Video Blog: Religulous Protest
On Saturday night, a group of protesters picketed the premiere of Larry Charles‘ Religulous, the Bill Maher anti-religion documentary. I caught some footage of the protesters in action (above). I was initally told that they were trying to have the screening shut down. So when I went over to interview them, I’ll admit that I was probably a little aggressive in my questioning. But it turned out that the protesters weren’t anti-free speech after all. And while I might not agree, I respect the

TIFF Review: Religulous
I contend we are both atheists; I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours. -- Stephen F. Roberts In Religulous, stand-up social commentator Bill Maher doesn't just assert how he believes in one less god than many of us, and he doesn't just craft bold, bizarre and hilarious moments of comedy and discussion with the help of director Larry Charles (Borat). More importantly, and more intriguingly, Maher

Good One
A stirring discussion -- lively, blunt, rousing -- happened last night on Real Time with Bill Maher. Here's one of the better portions, which dealt with Sarah Palin. The polls have returned to pre-convention levels, but Palin "is still doing well with white women...the people that Democrats need," Maher noted, "Obama [right now] is now getting less women that John Kerry did." Here's the opening portion, which isn't as interesting -- a discussion of the Wall Street situation of the last few days.
