Is Quentin Tarantino Compromising ‘Inglorious Bastards’?
When Quentin Tarantino made his bold statement at Cannes that he would be there in one year with Inglorious Bastards, everyone laughed and shook their heads saying “Ooh, Quentin, you rascal, you” and then continued about their business. Pretty much immediately after the amusing quote, Tarantino went and finished his script and then started casting and scouting locations like a mad man; this told us he was actually serious and was out to prove it.
So here we are. The movie is looking to start

Dark horizons reports that French actress Melanie Laurent has been cast as Tarantino’s Shoshanna a french Jewish girl who is in hiding from the Nazi’s and at the same time run a movie theater.
A source close to Laurent indicates the actress has already flown to Los Angeles to work with Tarantino.

Quentin Tarantino and the female bastard..
Mr Tarantino has been all over the place with his castings for ‘Inglorious Bastards’, and things are starting to come out about the female lead for the movie. Apparently he is in talks with Melanie Laurent to play Shoshana Dreyfus.
Melanie hasnt been in very many American movies, so her resume would look pretty foreign to you as she is from France. You can check her out on IMDB though..thanks to AICN for the heads up.

Is Melanie Laurent Tarantino’s Very Cute Bastard Female Lead?
Has Quentin Tarantino found his Jewish Princess for his World War II talky slaughterfest aka “Inglorious Bastards”? Maybe, maybe not. According to the blokes over at Dark Horizons, who quotes a French movie site called Monsieur Cinema, French actress Melanie Laurent has indeed won a leading role in the film. Which could only mean one thing: she’ll be playing Shoshanna Dreyfus, a Jewish girl who is the only survivor of a bloody Nazi manhunt that claims the lives of her entire family, a sequ
Indie Weekend Box Office: Snipped 'Sukiyaki Western Django' Draws First
Take one renegade Japanese director, set him to work on a Spaghetti Western, add a cameo by a talkative American filmmaker, and what do you get? First place in the indie four-day weekend box office race. Sukiyaki Western Django, directed by the prolific and extremely versatile Takashi Miike and featuring Quentin Tarantino in a small role, tore it up at the single Manhattan theatre where it opened, grossing $13,100, according to estimates compiled by Box Office Mojo. The version released in the US does not r
The 8 Foreign DVDs That Justify The Purchase of a Region-Free Player
The recent American release of Spaced may have earned the cult Britcom an entirely new legion of fans, but to owners of region-free DVD players—many of whom purchased their machines years ago just so they could check out the show—it was old hat. As Blu-ray, torrents and On-Demand programming slowly knock DVD off of its throne of dominance, true videophiles who prefer to own physical discs can still seek out plenty of rare offerings that have never been issued as NTSC Region 1 releases. There’s a num
Quentin Snags a Few More 'Bastards'
Bastards, bastards, bastards! The best part about Quentin Tarantino appropriating the title for his upcoming movie from Enzo Castellari's high-energy original is that I get to satisfy my inner 11-year-old and tell you all about the latest Inglorious Bastards withour fear of recrimination from parental figures. Diane Kruger is the highest-profile new bastard, according to Variety, joined by Christoph Waltz and writer / actor / comedian Paul Rust.

Review: Sukiyaki Western Django
Filed under: Action, New Releases, New in Theaters, Quentin Tarantino, Cinematical Indie, WesternBy chance, two Takashi Miike movies, Dead or Alive and Audition, opened in my town with in a week of one another in 2001. It was pretty eye opening seeing the huge difference between them, the speedy carnage of the former and the slow suspense of the latter, and I became an instant fan. Since then I've managed to track down just six more Miike movies, and in that same time he has made over forty (including video

Samuel L. Jackson says “Lose the Bikinis!”
Samuel L. Jackson has played some outstanding characters in the past: Shaft, Mace Windu and Nick Fury. Now he is trying on the voice of the people. In a recent interview with shobizspy, Jackson voiced his opinion on PG films containing strippers. Jackson said” Strippers who don’t strip..suck!” He was referencing a scene in his new film Lakeview Terrace that has a bachelor party with three ladies who dance but remain fully clothed. ‘Weeds’: How the Hell Are They Getting Out of This One?
Jenji Kohan has some serious moxie. This episode, the second to last this season, is nauseating. Lest we forget that this naughty, sunny drama is actually about one of the nastiest, dirtiest underground businesses in the world, Kohan brings it home. And once again, we're thinking, how — no, really, how — are they going to get out of this convincingly?
Nancy gives everything up: the tunnel, Guillermo, her lucrative income. We saw that coming, but we didn't see this: Cesar, the asymmetrically eare

Return of ‘Entourage’ is Can’t Miss TV
“Entourage,” the first-ever make-believe reality show, is back. (HBO, Sunday, 10 p.m.) Movies
In the 1960s, Italian director Sergio Leone crafted a series of spaghetti westerns that placed stoic heroes in the midst of harsh, grimy, violent, sometimes macabre conditions to create hyper-realistic conflict. So what happens when Japanese cult director Takashi Miike pays homage to Leone’s “A Fistful of Dollars” by mixing samurai elements with the American western, adding loads of gun play and bloodshed
Samuel L. Jackson is King of the Motherf*&$ing World
Sure, Leonardo DiCaprio was pretty decent in James Cameron’s “Avatar”, and frankly, it’s hard to picture anyone else in the role now that the movie has gone on to gross, what, a bazillion dollars? But what IF someone else had played Jack Dawson? Someone like, say … Samuel L. Mothereffin’ Jackson? Well shit, why not slap Sam’s head on an actor, do the same to Kate Winslet, and have them do a faux “lost” screen test for “Titanic”? Sounds like f
Corey Feldman An “Inglorious Bastard?”
Quentin Tarantino is beloved amongst fans of cult classics as the man with the Midas touch. Tarantino can take themes from older genres and reinvent them into new nostalgia money makers, can take older flagging careers and find the turn half forgotten stars into sought after celebrities all over again. So I was really excited when I heard a rumor floating around that the legendary director was thinking of adding one very special cast member to his latest project, “Inglorious Bastards.”
“We recently l
