‘Twilight’ Sequel in the Works, Says Studio
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 11/23/08 – “Twilight,” the big-screen adaptation of the Stephenie Meyer vampire novel of the same name, will get its sequel. Summit Entertainment announced Saturday that it would begin work on “New Moon,” the next chapter in the Bella Swan/Edward Cullen saga, which would also be based on its corresponding literary work.
Despite a mediocre critical response, the book series’ devoted fan base of mostly (but not exclusively) teen and ‘tween girls came out in force
Inquirer.net interview with the weird ass Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart
LOS ANGELES, California—This is the hot young actor that girls are screaming their tonsils out for?
Some reporters couldn’t reconcile Robert Pattinson who looked like he just got out of bed, his hair a thick mess, with the buzz—screaming hysteria, to be more specific—proclaiming him as Hollywood’s new “It Guy.” But when we first interviewed him on the set of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” in the UK several years ago, we knew it was only a matter
‘Twilight’ Stars Pay Rise For ‘New Moon’
There’s now no doubting the fact that Twilight has been a massive success. The book-to-film translation brought a wealth of fans out of the woodwork and managed to secure $70 million of takings at the box U.S. box office on its opening weekend. With releases around the world, and the obvious profits still to come from the likely DVD and Blu-ray sales, the future of the series is looking bright.
This bright future has had a few effects, already being felt throughout Hollywood. For starters, the next
‘Twilight’ Stars Get Major Pay Raise for ‘New Moon’
stars Robert Pattinson, 22, and Kristin Stewart, 18, will get huge salary boosts from the $2 million each earned for “Twilight” — reportedly $10 million more, per film, plus a nice percentage of the future movies’ box-office take.
$12 million each!? Obviously New Moon will have a much larger budget than Twilight’s relatively low $37 million budget.

‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘New Moon’ Greenlit
It only took the confirmation of a massive opening weekend ($70 Million) to give Summit studios the confidence to officially greenlight the sequel to Twilight, New Moon.
Stephenie Meyer stated, “I don’t think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I’m thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on ‘New Moon.’”
Fans rejoice.

What’s next for ‘Twilight’?
The first movie to be adapted from Stephenie Meyer's breakout hit -- about the chaste romance between rebel vampire Edward and a shy high school girl named Bella -- left many, if not all, of the author's fans in a state of religious ecstasy. Plans for the next installment, "New Moon," are under way.

Link: 28 Reasons the ‘Twilight’ movie is better than the book
I never read the book but enjoyed the movie to an extent. I understand how all the hardcore Twilight fans are saying how the movie left out their favorite scenes and how the love between Bella and Edward seemed rushed… but hey, give them a break! Here is an awesome article that explains why the movie is better than the book.

'Twilight' Beats Wednesday Opening of 'Four Christmases' To Lead Thanksgiving Box Office; 'Australia' Debuts Distant #7
THURSDAY EARLY AM: For this 5-day Thanksgiving holiday, it looks like Twilight and female tweens and teens will go together like turkey and pumpkin pie. It's too soon to call the weekend movie-wise based just on Wednesday's grosses. But the expected frontrunner, New Line/Warner Bros' sour Four Christmases, came in only No. 2 with $6M from 3,310 theaters behind $8M from 3,419 venues for Summit Entertainment's no-sex, no-violence, no-stars vampire romance that should spend another weekend No. 1. 'Twilight' Stars to Suck $24 Million Payday For Sequel [Blood Money]
Twilight's record-breaking opening gross was downgraded to a measly $69.6 million on Monday, which nevertheless failed to deter Summit Entertainment from officially nudging the sequel, New Moon, into the pre-production queue. That was the easy part, though; paying its young stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart a reported $12 million apiece for the second film (and possibly a third) — and locking in director Catherine Hardwicke for millions more — is where the mess might arise.

Teen Heart Throb Robert Pattinson Loves Patricia Arquette
If you aren’t into the Twilight book series, you’re probably thinking, “Who?” Robert Pattinson plays the vampire Edward, who loves a human girl in this incredibly popular teen book series. The other librarians made me read the books and they aren’t bad, so I can see why the movie is doing so well. (They’d be a great gift for that teen girl on your shopping list if she’s somehow missed the whole Robert Pattinson is hot thing all the other girls are doing!)

We had tons of submissions, and at the end of the day we went with the one that didn't "suck". Heh. Get it? I'm lame. Congrats Jennifer!

How Stephenie Meyer took a shocking (except to her fans) bite of the box office; what's up for ''New Moon''
MOVIE REVIEW: Twilight - Jed
I surprised myself when I read Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight. It’s probably one of the few times that I actually followed my sisters’ advice in terms of what books I should read. We never had similar tastes in books. While I can still hear the voice of Bella, it is actually Edward’s loneliness and sense of desperation that made me a loyal fan. I guess, we’re in the same ship, in more ways than one, and it is this sense of belongingness that kept me glued up to the last page.
