Roger Ebert give Notorious three and a half stars
A basically good-hearted guy, just getting it turned aroundby Roger EbertHe was known as the Notorious B.I.G., a man-mountain of rap, but behind the image was Christopher Wallace, an overgrown kid who was trying to grow up and do the right thing. The image we know about. The film "Notorious" is more interested in the kid. He was born in Brooklyn, loved his mother (a teacher who was studying for a master's degree), got into street-corner drug dealing because he liked the money, performed rap on the street and

Sara Vilkomerson's Guide To This Week's Movies: Hip-Hop Hooray! And, Woof!
During Sunday night’s Golden Globe telecast, one of the (many) things that mystified us was the sight of Beyoncé and Jay-Z at a table with The Reader director Stephen Daldry and Cameron Diaz. Just who on earth does the seating charts for these events? We need to know. Anyway, everyone gave gracious speeches and was tastefully dressed; Beyoncé clapped delicately and Jay-Z looked on with approval. It’s funny because 1997, that heyday of hip-hop, doesn’t really feel all that far away. … But if you co
First Look: Notorious
There's a teaser trailer for the Notorious B.I.G. biopic making the rounds lately, and I kinda like it. The music is great, there's a grandly dramatic, dangerous tone to the whole thing, appropriately. It starts out soft and low and builds to a flashy finish.
After an exhaustive search, the filmmakers and Biggie's mother Voletta Wallace cast Brooklyn rapper Jamal "Gravy" Woolard for the title role last March. Other cast members include Angela Bassett as Biggie's mother, Derek Luke as Sean Combs, and Antho

Latest on the ‘Notorious’ Beef: Lil Kim Vs. Screenwriters
As we’ve been reporting pretty regularly, Lil Kim recently told Hip-Hop Weekly although she has not seen the film she believes that Faith Evans, and Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, were in cahoots to not only push her out of the project but also misrepresent her on screen. (Once again she’s never seen the film.)
Tuesday Kim released a statement further clarifiying her stance.
“The film studio and producers involved were more concerned about painting me as a ‘character’

The Notorious B.I.G. Movie Looks Sure To Hypnotize [Juicy]
newVideoPlayer("/bigmovie_def.flv", 506, 423,""); Grab your 40 and roll a blunt: The trailer for Notorious has finally hit the interweb. With Brooklyn rapper Gravy (née Jamal Woolard) playing Biggie and Derek Luke as P. Diddy, we can’t wait for this one. But will the film be a fitting legacy to one of the greatest rappers of all time? It’s hard to say from this teaser, which offers only a few glimpses of actual footage. Still, those glimpses are pretty awesome: Biggie as a little kid counting money? T
‘Notorious’ Trailer
Notorious is about the life of rapper Christopher Wallace a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. In just a few short years, The Notorious B.I.G. rose from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time. B.I.G. was a gifted storyteller; his narratives about violent life on the streets were told with a gritty, objective realism that won him enormous respect and credibility. His stories were universal and gave a voice to his generation.
To bad this movie wont do him any justice
