wearemoviegeeks.com - 9th Sep 2008

Quentin Tarantino: Mr Tarantino has been all over the place with his castings for ‘Inglorious Bastards’, and things are starting to come out about the female lead for the movie. Apparently he is in talks with Melanie Laurent to play Shoshana Dreyfus. Melanie hasnt been in very many American movies, so her resume would look pretty foreign to you as she is from France. You can check her out on IMDB though..thanks to AICN for the heads up. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Is Quentin Tarantino Compromising ‘Inglorious Bastards’?
When Quentin Tarantino made his bold statement at Cannes that he would be there in one year with Inglorious Bastards, everyone laughed and shook their heads saying “Ooh, Quentin, you rascal, you” and then continued about their business. Pretty much immediately after the amusing quote, Tarantino went and finished his script and then started casting and scouting locations like a mad man; this told us he was actually serious and was out to prove it. So here we are. The movie is looking to start

Looks Like Tarantino has found his Shoshanna for ‘Inglorious Bastards’

Has Quentin Tarantino found his Jewish Princess for his World War II talky slaughterfest aka “Inglorious Bastards”? Maybe, maybe not. According to the blokes over at Dark Horizons, who quotes a French movie site called Monsieur Cinema, French actress Melanie Laurent has indeed won a leading role in the film. Which could only mean one thing: she’ll be playing Shoshanna Dreyfus, a Jewish girl who is the only survivor of a bloody Nazi manhunt that claims the lives of her entire family, a sequ

Quentin Snags a Few More 'Bastards'
Bastards, bastards, bastards! The best part about Quentin Tarantino appropriating the title for his upcoming movie from Enzo Castellari's high-energy original is that I get to satisfy my inner 11-year-old and tell you all about the latest Inglorious Bastards withour fear of recrimination from parental figures. Tarantino got Another BASTARD Girl
I’m following the development on the movie INGLORIOUS BASTARD because it fascinates me how Quentin Tarantino chooses one heartthrob star, Brad Pitt in the main role and then cast some of the ultimate freaks and geeks in Hollywood (Eli Roth, Mike Myers, Samm Levine, BJ Novak) and then some German actors (Til Schweiger, Christoph Waltz and Michael Fassbender) and then took a ‘hot’ route when it comes to casting the women. Last month, Diane Kruger joined the cast of the story about a rogue b

Review: Sukiyaki Western Django
Filed under: Action, New Releases, New in Theaters, Quentin Tarantino, Cinematical Indie, WesternBy chance, two Takashi Miike movies, Dead or Alive and Audition, opened in my town with in a week of one another in 2001. It was pretty eye opening seeing the huge difference between them, the speedy carnage of the former and the slow suspense of the latter, and I became an instant fan. Since then I've managed to track down just six more Miike movies, and in that same time he has made over forty (including video

‘Weeds’: How the Hell Are They Getting Out of This One?
Jenji Kohan has some serious moxie. This episode, the second to last this season, is nauseating. Lest we forget that this naughty, sunny drama is actually about one of the nastiest, dirtiest underground businesses in the world, Kohan brings it home. And once again, we're thinking, how — no, really, how — are they going to get out of this convincingly? Nancy gives everything up: the tunnel, Guillermo, her lucrative income. We saw that coming, but we didn't see this: Cesar, the asymmetrically eare

Corey Feldman An “Inglorious Bastard?”
Quentin Tarantino is beloved amongst fans of cult classics as the man with the Midas touch. Tarantino can take themes from older genres and reinvent them into new nostalgia money makers, can take older flagging careers and find the turn half forgotten stars into sought after celebrities all over again. So I was really excited when I heard a rumor floating around that the legendary director was thinking of adding one very special cast member to his latest project, “Inglorious Bastards.” “We recently l

Vulture’s ‘Inglorious Bastards’ Casting Scorecard

After the jump, with the help of the screenplay, we break it down for all the film's major-ish speaking parts —

Return of ‘Entourage’ is Can’t Miss TV
“Entourage,” the first-ever make-believe reality show, is back. (HBO, Sunday, 10 p.m.) Movies In the 1960s, Italian director Sergio Leone crafted a series of spaghetti westerns that placed stoic heroes in the midst of harsh, grimy, violent, sometimes macabre conditions to create hyper-realistic conflict. So what happens when Japanese cult director Takashi Miike pays homage to Leone’s “A Fistful of Dollars” by mixing samurai elements with the American western, adding loads of gun play and bloodshed

We Predicted It - FASTER, BRITNEY! SPEAR! SPEAR!
On December 4, 2006, we (jokingly) prophesied that Britney Spears would co-star with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan in a remake of Russ Meyer’s exploitation classic, Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! Our prophecy now turns out to be at least one-third true. Britney apparently IS going to be starring in a Pussycat remake – directed by Quentin Tarantino, no less. You can read about it in the U.K. Telegraph, a story tastefully entitled Britney Spears to Play Lesbian Killer in Quentin Tarantino Film.
