Michelle Obama Rings a Welcome to Biden's Wife
When Sen. Barack Obama told wife Michelle that he'd decided on a vice presidential candidate earlier this week, she gave him snaps – literally.
"I've stayed out of this process ... but when he told me his choice I said, 'That's the right choice.' I was like, 'Good!' " she told PEOPLE as she snapped her fingers in approval after her husband's announcement Saturday that Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware would be his running mate.

Barack Obama's Daughters on His Presidential Run: "Boring!"
Barack Obama has confessed to Usmagazine.com that his daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6, are obsessed with Miley Cyrus and Beyonce.
But when it comes to his presidential campaign... well, not so much.
"When I call them, they say, 'Daddy, what did you do today?' I say, 'Well, I spoke to 35,000 people,'" Obama told Rachael Ray in an interview that aired Tuesday.
"It's like, 'Boring!'" he added. "It's not interesting."

Carla Bruni Does First Lady Costumes Better Than Anyone [The Politics Of Fashion]
NPR today brings us a story on the sartorial "tightrope" that any potential first lady must walk: "a successful first lady profile is a delicate amalgam of not-too-bright, not-too-tight, not-too low-cut and not-too expensive...today's First Ladies have to look stylish, but not too stylish." The piece goes on to compliment both Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain for their efforts in this department, praising the "variety" of both women's wardrobes. Which just makes it funnier to see the Daily Mail's piece, "Th

Michelle Obama will be a guest host on "The View" on June 18. The popular ABC daytime talk show had invited her to be a guest this month, but she sent back word that she would like to be a host like Cindy McCain did in April, said Bill Geddie, the show's executive producer.
"Equal time — that's hard to argue with," he said Wednesday.
Being a guest host will allow Michelle Obama to help interview guests and participate in the opening "hot topics," or banter about what's in the news that day. It offer
New Yorker's 'terrorist' Obama cover under fire
In a campaign in which Senator Barack Obama touching fists with his wife sparked a "controversy", the New Yorker's latest cover was never going to slip onto newsstands unnoticed.
In a satirical swipe at the crazy rumours about the presidential candidate and his wife, Michelle, the liberal magazine depicts them as terrorists in the oval office. Obama is in Muslim clothing; Michelle, in an Afro and military garb, has an AK-47 slung over he shoulder.
Naturally, the fist bumping is there, along with a por

John McCain may have endorsement of Heidi Montag, but Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have the support of their spouses, who penned exclusive first-person pieces arguing for the candidates they know best in the latest issue of Us Weekly.
Their pieces are a little under 1,000 words apiece.

Michelle Obama's thesis goes public, gets analyzed
There are plenty senior theses with famous authors lining the shelves of Princeton University's library.
Actors Brooke Shields and Dean Cain used their senior papers to write about the film industry. Actor David Duchovny wrote about Samuel Beckett. Future politician Bill Bradley wrote about Harry Truman. Ralph Nader explored Lebanese agriculture.
But few senior theses have attracted as much attention as Michelle Obama's 1985 paper, "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community."

Earlier, we parsed the spurious infanticide ... [How To Win Friends And Influence People]
Earlier, we parsed the spurious infanticide charges leveled at Barack Obama by, among others, this woman — Jill Stanek. Jill's a big anti-abortion, anti-birth-control, pro-"purity" and anti-reality activist who got the infanticide ball rolling with the help of some people in the media that take her somewhat seriously despite her use of the word "baby-killer" to describe pro-choice lawmakers. Media Matters, however, points out that Stancek also promotes domestic violence as an acceptable reaction to a

Obama Chooses Biden as Running Mate, Guarantees Important Delaware Win [Horse Race]
So, sigh, it's New York Times official. In his increasingly promising race to become America's Next Top Presidential Also-Ran, Illinois senator Barack Obama has chosen foreign policy-hungry Delaware senator Joe Biden as his running mate. We entertained this idea and called it a bad one earlier this week, and I know close to nothing about politics compared to Pareene so I'll just leave this as news without comment. Other than to say that this is a bad, borderline esoteric choice that ought to leave Obama's l
