New Photos: Frank Miller’s The Spirit
/Film reader Christopher M sent over these new photos from Frank Miller’s The Spirit, which hits theaters on December 25th 2008. I’ll admit, some of these photos look really bad ass, but I’m still not convinced due to the horrible showing Lionsgate had at Comic Con.
Official Plot Synopsis: Adapted from the legendary comic strip, THE SPIRIT is a classic action-adventure-romance told by genre-twister Frank Miller (creator of 300 and SIN CITY). It is the story of a former rookie cop who returns myste
Christmas gets Frank Miller's 'Spirit'
Frank Miller is feeling the Christmas spirit.
A confident Lionsgate has moved up the release of Miller's directorial debut, "The Spirit" -- adapted from Will Eisner's comicstrip -- from Jan. 16 to Dec. 25, in the heart of holiday season.
The action-adventure romance toplines Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes. Miller ("300," "Sin City") penned the adapted script.

Makers Put As Much Effort Into The Spirit Toys As Frank Miller Put Into The Movie [The Spirit Toys]
Images have come out of a new gaggle of toys that I'm guessing are supposed to be from Frank Miller's movie adaptation of the comic The Spirit, but honestly if it wasn't for the mask, I wouldn't have known who any of these characters were. The whole Spirit gang appears in misshappen non-representational action figure form, which we've collected into a gallery for you, plus one ridiculously over dramatic Spirit bust and The Spirit car keys so when I steal your purse, I'll know you deserved it.

New ‘Spirit’ Movie Photos
Thanks to /Film we have some new pics from Frank Millers ‘Spirit’. I have to say these pics look pretty good, but everything I have see for this movie from the film clips and trailers just looks awful. In the end I think this movie is going to be pretty bad. I hoped that it would be good, but I don’t think anything can sell me on it being a good film now. Enjoy the pics.

More Photos from Frank Miller's The Spirit - Still Excited?
A couple of new photos from Frank Miller's upcoming film The Spirit have surfaced over on SlashFilm. We've already seen some trailers and plenty of other photos, but these are the newest ones. It's tough for me to even mention these because after seeing the footage that was shown at Comic-Con, I'm entirely unexcited for this. In fact, I think Comic-Con effectively killed all buzz that the movie had. I wish I could be sitting here telling you that Frank Miller is going to show us one hell of an awesome styli

Memorable Trailers #3 - 'Sin City'
Welcome back to another edition of our "Memorable Trailers" series. Today I picked Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez's spectacular "Sin City," which pulled audiences into a dark world full of brutal violence and gorgeous visuals. Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Alexis Bledel, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke and Benicio Del Toro were all on board.
The trailer for "Sin City" remains one of my favorite previews to date, primarily because it captures the spirit of the movie quite well and promises view
Rocky To Trade In Boxing Gloves For Batsuit? [Batman]
A crazy new rumor claims that Chris Nolan is done making Batman films forever. But don't panic: Frank Miller has a great idea for the next Batman movie, which has nothing to do with following up The Dark Knight. And Miller has an off-the-wall idea for the next Batman star.
Miller still wants to see a movie version of his groundbreaking graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns, and he thinks Sylvester Stallone should star. He told the LA Times:
"Just that mouth of his, the scowl and the way it would lo

Frank Miller Gives Batgirl Too Dirty A Mouth For DC Comics [All Star Batman And Robin The Boy Wonder]
Earlier this week, comic retailers were notified that all copies of All Star Batman And Robin that they receive in this week's shipments were to be destroyed instead of placed on sale. No futher explanation was forthcoming - until someone got a hold of a copy, and discovered that a problem with self-censorship had accidentally created a comic too dirty to be sold. But just how dirty can a Batman comic be?
Comic Book Resources' Rich Johnston explained the problem with the latest issue of Sin City c
First Official Look: Samuel L. Jackson in The Spirit
The latest issue of Comic-Con Magazine has the first official photo of Samuel L. Jackson as The Spirit arch-enemy the Octopus. They also have an interview with Frank Miller talking about the upcoming comic book adaptation.
Holy Crap, Batman! You have a filthy mouth.
If you are heading out to pick up Frank Miller and Jim Lee’s All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder series (#10), you’re in for a disappointment. The reason? Due to an unfortunate printing mistake that left all the comic book’s censored profanities visible through black bar. Previous issues of the series have included the same trick, like bits of lettering stick out from behind the bars, giving the reader a hint of what is actually being said the tactic backfired this time due to some un
New Full Trailer for The Spirit Gets Leaked
The first full trailer for Frank Miller’s The Spirit has been leaked our way and I’m not sure about you, but this thing just is not looking too great. I’m not sure, but it looks a little too hyper-stylized for my taste. I’m not saying that something based on Eisner’s work shouldn’t be chock full of style — I just get the feeling that this film is trying a little too hard. Then again, most of what we’ve seen legally online, including the first teaser trailer, has all been little bits and piec
Stallone as an older Batman?
The wait for news on the next Batman film has thrown up another gem of speculation. This time the source is Frank Miller, and he would like to see Sylvester Stallone as an older Batman.
Now that would be a big departure from the current films. Interesting idea, or madness?
Christopher Nolan, DC and Warner Bros, are still to confirm plans for the next Batman film. This has led to all kinds of rumours, mostly involving casting. Cher, Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp have all be
Frank Miller: Batman Could Be an Italian Stallion
Don't worry, Christian Bale isn't getting replaced, but the writer and artist of "The Dark Knight Returns" thinks Sylvester Stallone would kill it as an aged Caped Crusader.

Frank Miller Wants Sylvester Stallone To Be Batman In The Dark Knight Returns
Frank Miller recently told some LA Times Journo that if his classic graphic novel The Dark Knight returns was to be made into a film he would want Sly Stallone to play the Dark Knight!
Frank Miller said that he would love to cast the Italian Stallion as the battered and aging Batman in a film adaptation of "The Dark Knight Returns." "Just that mouth of his, the scowl and the way it would look in a mask," Miller said. "I loved 'Rocky Balboa.' This wounded warrior, that's what Batman is in 'Dark Knight Return
The Return of Buck Rogers
IGN Movies has learned from a longtime reliable source that classic science fiction hero Buck Rogers will return to theaters courtesy of Nu Image/Millennium Films, the outfit behind the recent revivals of Rambo and Conan.
Not only that but we were told that none other than comic book icon-turned-filmmaker Frank Miller will direct it! Miller co-directed Sin City with Robert Rodriguez and is currently making his solo directorial debut with a big-screen adaptation of another pulp hero, Will Eisner's The Spi

More Photos From Frank Miller’s ‘The Spirit’
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new about Frank Miller’s controversial take on beloved Will Eisner hero “The Spirit,” but with the film’s December 25 release date looming, a new batch of promo photos from the film have hit the ‘Net.
The photos feature much of the cast of the Lionsgate project in various stages of action, inaction and — in the photo posted after the jump of Sarah Paulson and Gabriel Macht as Ellen Dolan and Denny Colt/The Spirit,
Samuel L. Jackson, M. Night Shyamalan On The ‘Unbreakable’ Sequel That Never Was, But Might Be
Love his work or hate it, there’s no denying that M. Night Shyamalan always seems to be one step ahead of the curve with his films — from the twist no one saw coming in “The Sixth Sense,” to finding new ways to scare the crap outta moviegoers with “Signs” and “The Village.” And he was even years ahead of the current comic book movie boom (for better and for worse) when “Unbreakable” hit theaters back in 2000.
So that being said, is it time for Shy
Is A Visit To ‘Sin City 2′ In Angelina Jolie’s Future? She’s Curious
No doubt about it, Angelina Jolie is a dame to kill for, but could she literally be “A Dame to Kill For”? For over two years, the principal talent behind “Sin City” have been subtlety (and sometimes not so subtlety) dropping hints that they’d like Jolie for the title role of Ava Lord, the manipulative, conniving, fatally gorgeous force at the center of director Robert Rodriquez and Frank Miller’s “Sin City 2.”
In an interview two-years ago, actress Rosario Dawson even said that filming wa
Mickey Rourke Would Reprise Marv Role In ‘Sin City 2’…If The Script Is Right
While at this year’s Toronto Film Festival hyping up his highly buzzed-about performance in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Wrestler,” actor Mickey Rourke sat down with MTV News and spoke about reprising his role as the hulking, battle-damaged Marv in “Sin City 2.”
In July, helmer Robert Rodriguez told MTV News that writer Frank Miller had recently turned in a script for the sequel and that “we’re going to go reassess” where the project would sit on the director
