New York Fugshion Week: The Penutimate Day

Go Fug Yourself - 12th Sep 2008

Calvin Klein: How sad am I that security wouldn't let us get anywhere near the front rows at Calvin Klein? For that reason I missed the sassy anecdote that I'm SURE should accompany this photo of Lauren Hutton: I hope she's saying, "What the hell is with these jumpsuit cuffs? Am I on death row? I DON'T THINK SO." -- Also at Thursday's Calvin Klein show: Miss Tyra totally stole all the thunder and a paparazzo yelled at Rachel Zoe. I never thought I'd feel bad for her, but lo and behold, my heart grew three sizes that day. -- We were very concerned that Anna Wintour's longtime boyfriend's daughter might go into labor in the middle of the Vera Wang show. That would make one hell of a review: "So good, my water broke!" Also, does that make Anna a step-g

New York Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Peter Som
Versatility was the name of the game at Peter Som. The designer really made an effort to cater to all types of customers — with prints, solids, glitz, and minimalism. Women who aren't afraid to experiment with bold colors and prints will fall in love with the slew of flowy maxi dresses (I know Rachel Zoe, who was in the front row, did) as well as some mini ones in fuchsias and bright blues. Solid-loving fans may appreciate the oversize blazers with short shorts and strapless rompers.Som also presented poc

New York Fashion Week Gallery: Halston S/S 2009
The revived Halston label is enjoying nothing but infamy at the moment. With the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Rachel Zoe and Tamara Mellon turning the cogs in the background, you'd expect the label to be delivering something very special. But following the departure of designer Marco Zanini (and the fact Zoe doesn't seem to care any more) the future seems uncertain despite the fact previous collections sold well. This Fashion Week, instead of a traditional runway show, models lounged around in pieces that har

Tyra Banks' Hair Is Yanking The Eyes Off Her Face
Here's ratings-challenged Tyra Banks at the Calvin Klein show during New York Fashion Week. Tyra's bun is so tight that her face is literally going to detach from her skull. You do not have that big of a forehead and then mess around with tight hair. Something is going to give. Her eyeballs are going to be whipped out of her skull and strike Michael Musto in the face in the 16th row behind her. It's going to be like Evil Dead 2 except a face full of fashion. Fashion Designers Design Garments for Barack Obama
The Washington Post reported that an array of fashion designers have joined forces to design a new clothing line for the Barack Obama campaign. Designers like Tracy Reese, Derek Lam, Isaac Mizrahi, Charles Nolan and Diane von Furstenberg have created pieces that will be on sale at Barack’s official website. Other names that have been dished out but not confirmed include Russell Simmons, Beyonce, Michael Bastian and Vera Wang. Top that McCain. If an Obama tee is on your mind, theres a few to chose from

Stacking Up for Spring
Little was left bare on the wrists of models this season. Designers piled arms high with bracelets in a motley, super-hip assortment of colors, shapes, textures and widths. Any combination will do, as the bracelets shown at Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs, Malo, Alyssa Norton for VPL and Janis by Janis Savitt for Vera Wang proved that all shapes and sizes are up for consideration. We prefer a mix of widths and texture to personalize the look. So start collecting and keep stacking. Photos by George Ch

New York Spring 2009: Doo.Ri, Anna Sui, Vera Wang

Thursday, September 11
Fashion Week clomps to a close with zee big hitters: Vera Wang, Zac Posen, and Calvin Klein—fresh off the brand’s celeb-stuffed bash under the High Line—and look, what’s this, now someone’s trying to co-opt Fashion Week for their own charitable purposes? Denim label G-Star throws a party with wee sprite actor Alan Cumming and kind-of actress Heather Graham to pump the United Nations Millennium Campaign, which aims to, bless its heart, eliminate world poverty by 2015. Well, we will do our part by e

Fashion Rocks
The one-name brigade (Rihanna, Fergie, Beyoncé, Valentino, etc.) descended on Radio City Music Hall last night for Condé Nast's fifth-annual Fashion Rocks concert. And not surprisingly, the paparazzi were at the ready. When Miley Cyrus breezed down the red carpet without stopping to pose or even cough up a sound bite, they let out a roar so loud it nearly knocked poor Elizabeth Banks off her feet. New York's best-known designers, on the other hand, were happy to give us some face time. Vera Wa

Rachel seems to be a really nice person with relatable anxiety issues. Also, she's so fucking catch phrase-y. Her faves seem to be the violent 'kills it,' 'I die," and "shut it down," which she at times softens with "loves it," with a slice of "bananas" in between." CLICK for a montage of Zoe-isms. Hot or Not: Rachel Zoe @ Marc Jacobs Spring 2009
Rachel Zoe (born 1 September 1971[1]), born Rachel Zoe Rosenzweig, is an American professional fashion stylist notable for having worked with numerous high-profile female celebrities. Zoe's influence on her clients' weight has been questioned by the media; in response, Zoe said, "I don't think it's fair to say that I'm responsible because I'm a thin person, that because I'm influencing their style I'm influencing what they eat. There was this crazy rumour that I was getting diet pills from Mexico and d

Did You Watch The Rachel Zoe Project?
After an exciting countdown, the season premiere of The Rachel Zoe Project finally took place last night. Did you watch? As the trailers revealed, there was no shortage of insanity. In a nutshell, Rachel searched far and wide for a red carpet dress for celeb client Joy Bryant, flew to NYC for a business meeting, met up with Michael Kors for brand expanding advice, styled Joy, attended the Art of Elysium Ball, oh and dropped major moolah on a Birkin bag, a Balmain dress, and a Chanel necklace. Rachel Zoe, Stop Trying to Make 'I Die' Happen [So Why Don't You?]
newVideoPlayer("/zoedie_def.flv", 506, 423,""); In the annals of Bravo catchphrases, there are those that hit ("Make it work!") and those that miss (like Jonathan Adler's sheepish, "See you later, decorator" from Top Design). Still, an oft-repeated turn of phrase is the one accessory no Bravo star can be without, and so it goes for stylist Rachel Zoe, whose docu-series The Rachel Zoe Project premiered on the channel last night. Whether faced with a beautiful pair of shoes or the terrifying orange head of t
