For Just $10 Million, Jerry Seinfeld Gave Microsoft This Shoegazing Stumper [Jerry Seinfeld]
newVideoPlayer("/jsmicro_def.flv", 506, 423,""); In its bid to top the deceptively simple "I"m a Mac/I'm a PC" ad campaign of its rival, Microsoft went big, hiring auteur Michel Gondry to direct a commercial featuring Jerry Seinfeld alongside Bill Gates. For his involvement, Seinfeld was handsomely compensated to the tune of $10 million — a big number, but small potatoes compared to the whole ad campaign's rumored $300 million budget. For that kind of cash, you might expect the end result to be an or
The new Jerry Seinfeld ad for Microsoft - love it? Hate it?
Jerry Seinfeld is the new shill for Microsoft, in an attempt for them to be as hip and cool as the Justin Long Mac ads. Look, I love PC’s, and I run Windows, but let’s face it - Microsoft is just never going to be the hipness. It just isn’t happening. Even with Jerry Seinfeld. Watch this ad and see if you agree with me:
Yeah…..and Jerry got $30 million for this. Hmm.

Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates Microsoft Ad
Microsoft released their first ad co-starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. It’s not funny. It’s not entertaining. It’s a waste of money. Jerry got paid $10, and Microsoft plans to spend $300 million on the campaign. Jerry’s fine, but Microsoft really need to fire their ad agency and hire a new one.

Jerry Seinfeld’s terrible Microsoft Ad
Jerry Seinfeld is said to have been paid around $10 million to represent Microsoft in a campaign that will cost the company $300 million. There are surely more ridiculous douche-tastic commercials coming, but this one takes the cake. Pretty much literally, considering the ending, which people on The Huffington Post are saying basically means “let them eat cake.” This commercial makes no sense, isn’t funny, and just brings it home how out of touch Microsoft is. Seinfeld isn’t funny or

Jerry Seinfeld saves Microsoft?
This new advertising campaign will spearhead and will attempt to take on the famous Mac vs. PC advertisements. As we all know Windows, the company’s most important brand, has suffered a lot because of the Mac vs. PC ad campaign. Rumored slogans include, “Windows, not walls”. According to news reports, Jerry will appear alongside the new retiree Bill Gates.
But can Jerry and the rest of Microsoft really undo the damage the Mac vs. PC campaign? Time can only tell.
And here’s a bit of pretty interes

Seinfeld, Gates make Microsoft ad debut
Microsoft's first spot in its $US300 million ($A370.14 million) advertising campaign to revamp its stodgy image features comedian Jerry Seinfeld and company founder Bill Gates in a quirky attempt to buy shoes at a discount store.
The bizarre ad debuted during the season opening game of the National Football League, and by its effect was being heatedly debated on the Internet.
The ad shows Seinfeld advising the world's richest man on how to stretch cheap new shoes that are a little too small.

Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld Walk Into a Shoe Store
Though Bill Gates doesn't much work for them anymore, and Jerry Seinfeld is mostly associated with American Express these days, Microsoft enlisted the pair of them to convince America that despite its troubles getting documents to print or iTunes to function, Windows is the cat's growl. The spot they put together is, sigh, pretty clever, as you would expect from the Seinfeldian school of thought. And Gates, despite his billions, comes across as relatable, cute, and our dad. Will it make us ditch X
Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld go to Shoe Circus - VIDEO

We talked about this when they announced that Jerry Seinfeld had signed on to promote Windows for Microsoft. If you were watching the big NFL kickoff Thursday night, you might have seen what that looked like. If you missed it, it's embedded after the jump. I've watched the commercial a few times now, and I'm torn. I agreed with Brad's take in the original post, that Seinfeld may be a few years past the point of ideal pitchman.
That being said, the
Seinfeld, Bill Gates Waste 90 Seconds Not Talking About Microsoft [Advertising]
Less than two weeks after Microsoft confirmed that it had picked the Mac-loving Jerry Seinfeld as its new endorser, this ad with Seinfeld and Bill Gates is everywhere. And it is awful. I mean, it's kind of engaging to see this half-billionaire comedian kicking it in a shoe store with the many-billionaire Microsoft nerd-in-chief; but up until the final seconds, I was convinced this was an ad for Payless. And I may be stupid, but I'm still your target audience, Microsoft. Surely Sarah Silverman and Willie Nel
Bill Gates And Jerry Seinfeld Go To Shoe Circus
Gabe probably doesn't think it's funny, but the first of the Microsoft ads starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld and directed by Michel Gondry aired last night. It's one of those little short film vignette commercials that seem to have nothing to do with the product being advertised. I think it's funny:
It's as if Michel Gondry directed part of a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode.
