Will Smith: The first trailer for Will Smith's new flick has just arrived online, and it's called Seven Pounds ... and it was directed by Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness) ... and it definitely looks like one of them tear-jerkers. (For those obsessive, need-it-right-now folks, you can watch the trailer after the jump.) In the film, Smith plays a guy who's feeling guilty about mistakes he's made over the years, and so he decides to help change the lives of seven total strangers. In doing so, he winds up falling in love with one of the aforementioned strangers, played by Rosario Dawson. So here we have a movie about giving to others, it comes out December 19 (right in time for Christmas), and it stars our most precious A-list actor. Movie Preview: Will Smith in Seven Pounds
It's cool that there's a new trailer out for Will Smith's upcoming heartwarming drama Seven Pounds, even if it doesn't offer much insight into what the movie is about, exactly. I turned to IMDB for a little help, so here's the plot description as found on the Seven Pounds page: "Ben (Will Smith) is an IRS agent who is depressed and guilt-ridden about mistakes from his past. He sets out to make amends by helping seven strangers. When he meets Emily (Rosario Dawson), a beautiful woman with a heart condition,

Seven Pounds Trailer Starring Will Smith and Rosario Dawson
The trailer for Will Smith’s next movie has leaked online, a project that finds him reteaming with Gabriele Muccino, the director of The Pursuit of Happyness. The plot for Seven Pounds seems kind of mysterious, stating only that Smith plays a guilt-ridden IRS agent who sets out to help seven strangers, and ends up falling in love with a woman who has a heart condition. If you ask me, it looks like the cheesiest Oscar-bait I’ve seen so far this season, but then again, I thought the same thing abo

'Seven Pounds' Trailer Helps Everyone It Touches (Up to Seven People)
Whoops, sorry for the late start. Here's the trailer for Seven Pounds, more aggressive melodrama from the Pursuit of Happyness team of director Gabriele Muccino and dramatic thespian Will Smith. Smith did some undefined wrong in the past, and now he's going to help some people in a unmentionable way. I can't take all the vagueness and touching, Pax Network-level drama! He's totally going to heal Rosario Dawson's heart condition and bring sight to Woody Harrelson's blind eyes, because Will Smith is a

Will Smith's Seven Pounds Gets a Trailer, Too
In addition to the fantastic trailer for Australia released earlier today, Sony has debuted the first trailer for the follow-up to Will Smith's Pursuit of Happyness. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, Seven Pounds stars Smith as an IRS agent who sets out to make amends by helping seven strangers. As touching and heartwarming as this trailer looks, I'm completely confused. Is Will Smith some sort of superhero who has the power to heal these strangers? Or is he giving them money? I really don't want to know wh

Will Smith is back with Seven Pounds
Just when you thought this winter is not going to have any surprises. Here comes a sneak preview from the towering new film starring Will Smith called Seven Pounds. I was totally not expecting anything after he did one of the worst movies of the year Hancock. But the trailer sort of brings us memories of his The Pursuit of Happyness days. So this is surely going to be something true fans of the star are going to check out. He reunites with the director and producer of The Pursuit of Happyness for a real em

Is Seven Pounds The New Pay It Forward?
We learned a long time ago to always, always take Will Smith seriously. The man can do anything - fight aliens or zombies, be Ali, love German shepherds, etc. Mr. Smith is on a winning streak: last year I Am Legend made a truckload of money. Ditto last summer's Hancock (which we maintain was secretly Jason Bateman's movie, but whatever). But now we've come upon the trailer for actor's next film, Seven Pounds. The story, as far as we can tell, is about a man who did something really bad (we'll guess murderou

“In 7 days God created the world… in 7 days, I shattered mine” - Will Smith’s SEVEN POUNDS trailer
Will Smith and director Gabriele Muccino’s last movie together THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS was one of the more uplifting Hollywood drama’s I have seen in years, possibly the best movie about work and survival since the much lauded Italian neo-realist movie BICYCLE THIEVES from the 1940’s. Not suprising I should say that I guess with Muccino being an Italian helmer himself. The movie almost brought me to tears, a wonderful Will Smith performance, he really looks to have found a director who k

Review: ‘Eagle Eye’
Jerry Shaw (Shia LaBeouf) is a Copy Cabana employee, he is struggling to make rent, and he has just found out his twin brother has died.  Rachel Hollman (Michelle Monaghan) is a divorced mom who has just sent her son on a school trip to play a show at the Library of Congress.  The two have never met and have no relation but are about to spend the next 48 hours on the run for their lives, and the lives of others.  Jerry becomes activated when he goes to the ATM to deposit a check from his parents only to

Eagle Eye: Absurd . . . ly Fun
The story of Big Brother watching and controlling all of the helpless citizens in Eagle Eye might be more effective if it weren't quite so preposterous. That said, this movie intends to thrill and entertain, and it succeeds on all counts. It holds your attention with all the plot twists and the bombardment of explosions, the kind of explosions that make a certain audience cheer. Eagle Eye will probably not be an award-winner, but it's great for when you want to totally escape with a loud, ridiculous, big ol

Rosario Dawson takes her cleavage to ‘Eagle Eye’ premiere
Rosario Dawson went tits-first onto the red carped last night. I’m surprised she didn’t topple over. On a related note, how do these premieres work with bad movies? I mean, all these celebs file into Eagle Eye which is a stillborn fetus of a movie, right? So what happens afterwords? Do they talk about it? Do they walk up to Shia LaBeouf and kick him in the crotch? I know I’m asking a lot of questions here but I want answers. I’m not finished with this… not by a long shot.

Rosario Dawson Gets Uncensored For “Eagle Eye”
Besides being the voice for the non-profit campaign “Voto Latino,” the actress is also starring in the eyeopening thriller “Eagle Eye.” The film breaks away from your typical (and cheesy) conspiracy theory and showcases the real dangers of being controlled by a technology crazed society. Rosario got to dish her uncensored thoughts on the Facebook and MySpace phenomenon, and her methods to demanding privacy from all of the celebrity frenzy. The New York native has been teaming up w

Rosario Dawson discusses Eagle Eye, Zack & Miri, and her general awesomeness
Rosario Dawson keeps mixing up her big-screen choices. She got kudos for last year's devastating portrayal of a revenge-seeking rape victim in the low budget film Descent, which she also produced. And now she's in the middle of the big-budget action thriller Eagle Eye, opposite Shia LaBeouf, as a government agent trying to unmask a mysterious female who's using technology to control her victims' every move.
