Politicker NY reports Gillibrand said, "I realize that for many New Yorkers, this is the first time you've heard my name and you don't know much about me. But I assure you that over the next few years, you will get to know me, and I will get to know you

Clinton, Paterson on Term Limits
While Governor David Paterson and Senator Hillary Clinton were on hand to honor ten fallen firefighters from across the state (including four from NYC) at a ceremony in Albany, naturally the two lawmakers were asked about term limits. According to the Times Union's Capitol Confidential, Paterson said, "I don't really have an opinion on term limits," (aside from loving the idea of a third Bloomberg term) but added, "What we've got to be in government is consistent." And Clinton "said she agrees with her g

Meet Your New (Homophobic, Gun-Loving) Senator, New York
One had to expect that Caroline Kennedy's resignation from the horse race for Hillary Clinton's Senate seat would closely precede word of New York Governor David Paterson's appointment of a winner. Given her recent tendency to behave like an entitled child , one who refuses to accept that she's not wanted at the party, there was no way Kennedy was dropping out until she was sure she'd lost. Today, less than 24 hours after the end of Kennedy's Senate bid, Kristen Gi
Sarah Palin Wants To Be On SNL?
Sarah Palin and the McCain staff are trying to figure out how to respond to the spot-on impersonation done by Tina Fey on SNL the last three weeks. Do you think that she should respond at all? The Chicago Sun-Times reports that a Palinesque tweak to Tina Fey's American Express commercials may be in the works.Sarah Palin may also appear on NBC's "Weekend Update" as early as Thursday night. I can't wait to see what the next SNL Palin skit will be. They have been pretty funny

The Importance of Being on Ellen
Credit Sarah Palin, or Hillary Clinton, or unprecedented excitement over the historic candidacy of Barack Obama and appreciation for his exceptionally appealing wife. Maybe it’s the panic about the financial crisis, outrage at the mishandling of the war, fury over gas prices, worries about the environment — all of which are so powerful that they’re causing the election to seep into unexpected cultural corners, like Us Weekly and porn. Whatever the reason, daytime talk shows have showcased some of the

After months of careful negotiations, Obama finally gets to keep his BlackBerry, but only a few senior staffers and close friends will have access to it—making the elite group the toast of the town. "It's a pretty small group of people," spokesman Robert Gibbs said of the list. The Star Report: Light reading - autobiographies from Sarah Palin and Britney spears?
One would think that wilderness governor Sarah Palin and resurgent pop tart Britney Spears probably don't have much in common, unless you count similar family planning strategies. But guess what? They're writers, too!
Word comes that massive book deals are in the works for both. Palin has reportedly enlisted the services of Robert Barnett, the Washington lawyer who represented President Obama, would-be President Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton in their multimillion-dollar book

La Pequeña has returned to us! I was beginning to think she fell down the toilet or was eaten by a house cat or something. Thankfully, none of those things happened, so she was able to give us this amazing video. La Pequena Hillary Clinton is back and this time she's pissed at America for not giving her the nomination! She's so fucking angry that she's turned into La Pequeña Hillary Hulk! She's like a cute, tiny, grouchy pickle person!

Year of the Comedienne
2008, the year of Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, has also been the year of the comic actress in television and film. It’s not that comic actresses haven’t always been around, but I cannot think of another year in which so many comediennes were so prominently leading the comedy pack.
Television has brought us Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, and Wanda Sykes, all of whom have also appeared successfully in films. (The opportunity to parody Palin and Clinton has been a godsend to Mss. Fey

Hillary Clinton Bests Sarah Palin (in Poll)
It doesn't really matter, since neither is running for President, but a poll of 600 women nationwide found that female voters think Hillary Clinton is a "better mom, role model and leader" than vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Some stats: 61% prefer Clinton to Palin (27%) if the two women ran against each other in 2012 and 35% think Clinton is a better mother than Palin (24%). Pollster Mickey Blum explains to the Daily News, "Palin appeals to a much smaller group."
