Microsoft Says Bye Bye Jerry
NEW YORK (RUSHPRNEWS) 9/19/2008--New York Times’ Stuart Elliot article yesterday discussed Microsoft’s 300 million dollar campaign to re-image and reposition itself after being “stereotyped” by Apple ads. Apple ads have long been using “I’m a PC” to compare Microsoft products to Apple. Microsoft’s new ad uses an engineer who states “Hello, I’m a PC and I’ve been made into a stereotype.
” This counterattack ad is not only thing Mic
Microsoft has Eva and Pharrell take Jerry’s spot.
Producer Pharrell Williams and actress Eva Longoria are set to replace Jerry Seinfeld in the new Microsoft ads, less than two weeks after Jerry’s ad debuted.
The Seinfeld actor, who appears in the computer software giant’s latest promos alongside Microsoft founder Bill Gates, was paid an estimated $10 million to endorse the brand. Jerry had two spots that were filmed: one featuring the pair chatting while out shoe shopping, and another showing the two talking at a blue collar family’s dinner tabl
Jerry Seinfeld's Microsoft Ads Pulled
Microsoft announced today that their two commercials, featuring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld, will be pulled off the air due to intense criticism. They'll be replaced by what Microsoft is calling Plan B: a commercial featuring Gates, Eva Longoria, Pharrell Williams, and Deepak Chopra.
But rather than be offended by the anti-ad blogs and YouTube comments, rep for Microsoft Frank Shaw says, "All along we said we were having a teaser campaign. We're getting ready to start the second phase. This was the

SEATTLE (RUSHPRNEWS) 09/19/2008–N.E.R.D front man Pharrell Williams is set to join a list of celebrities involved in a new $300 million advertising campaign for Microsoft. According to reports, the change is due to consumer’s poor response to their previous campaign featuring comedian Jerry Seinfeld and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
In one of the poorly received ads, Seinfeld and Gates are shown chit chatting while shopping for shoes. The other ad featured the pair engaged in conversation at

Microsoft Dumps Jerry Seinfeld for Pharrell and Eva Longoria
Less than a month ago, Microsoft announced that it had tapped comedian Jerry Seinfeld for its "hip" new Windows Vista ads (also featuring Microsoft chairman Bill Gates) that were going to finally stand up to Apple's wildly popular "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" commercials. But now, the Wall Street Journal, which originally broke the story, reports that Windows is moving into "phase two" of their $300 million ad campaign—and the 54-year-old comic has gotten the boot.

With Jerry Seinfeld gone, Microsoft's new ad campaign will become an aggressive response to Apple's Mac vs. PC ads, with actress Eva Longoria, singer Pharrell Williams, author Deepak Chopra and a slew of what the New York Times calls "everyday PC users, from scientists and fashion designers to shark hunters and teachers," proudly proclaiming "I'm a PC." In one ad, a Microsoft engineer who looks like John Hodgman, the actor who plays PC in Apple's commercials, will the commercial: "Hello, I’m a PC, and I
Pharrell Set To Take Part In Microsoft’s New Marketing Campaign
After only two weeks Microsoft will stop teasing you as the company begins the next phase of an ambitious — and risky — $300 million campaign intended to make over its tarnished image.
Mr. Gates makes a cameo appearance in the new Microsoft spots, along with celebrities like the actress Eva Longoria, the author Deepak Chopra and the singer Pharrell Williams. (Mr. Seinfeld is gone, at least for now.)

I’m a PC (Microsoft Ad)
Microsoft are such tools. They spend hundreds of millions of dollars on ads and all that they can think of is trying to emulate the Apple - Get a Mac ads. No offense, but seeing that snatch, Eva Longoria or Pharrell -who’s a regular mac and iphone user, in a Microsoft commercial, doesn’t really have me rushing out for Vista and dumping my mac. Maybe I’m not the core demographic of typical ‘dimwit.’

Microsoft Launches Plan B, Er, Phase Two
A day after confirming the dumping of Mr. Seinfeld, Microsoft has rolled out phase two of their image-resuscitating campaign with a commercial dubbed "Pride," featuring avowed PC users attempting to reassert the self-esteem they lost through years of watching Apple's "I'm a Mac" ads.
Among those trying to make Microsoft cool: Tony and Eva Longoria Parker, a much-hyped John Hodgman lookalike, a pontificating Deepak Chopra, a stage-bound Pharrell Williams and, yes, Bill Gates.

Jerry Seinfeld’s terrible Microsoft Ad
Jerry Seinfeld is said to have been paid around $10 million to represent Microsoft in a campaign that will cost the company $300 million. There are surely more ridiculous douche-tastic commercials coming, but this one takes the cake. Pretty much literally, considering the ending, which people on The Huffington Post are saying basically means “let them eat cake.” This commercial makes no sense, isn’t funny, and just brings it home how out of touch Microsoft is. Microsoft announcement tomorrow: No more Seinfeld ads! [Breaking]
