Stephenie Meyer: I never read the book but enjoyed the movie to an extent. I understand how all the hardcore Twilight fans are saying how the movie left out their favorite scenes and how the love between Bella and Edward seemed rushed… but hey, give them a break! Here is an awesome article that explains why the movie is better than the book. xhttp://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2008/11/slideshow_of_Twilight.html This entry was posted on November 26, 2008 at 1:52 pm and is filed under movies. Pattinson’s Twilight Bites Record $71 million at Box Office
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 11/23/08 — Sinking its fangs into 3419 blood banks, the new Vampire pic Twilight withdrew an estimated $70.5 million from teenage jugulars over the same weekend in which Bolt (3-D in selected opticians) barked up a decent if disappointing $27 million in 3651 kennels and Mr Bond extorted $27.4 million from rapidly diminishing quantums. After a record-breaking opening on Friday of $35.7 million (including midnight shows) - the 2nd biggest debut of the year after The Dark

MOVIE REVIEW: Twilight - Jed
I surprised myself when I read Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight. It’s probably one of the few times that I actually followed my sisters’ advice in terms of what books I should read. We never had similar tastes in books. While I can still hear the voice of Bella, it is actually Edward’s loneliness and sense of desperation that made me a loyal fan. I guess, we’re in the same ship, in more ways than one, and it is this sense of belongingness that kept me glued up to the last page.

Twilight's Box Office Doesn't Suck Ha Ha Do You See The Pun [Twilight]
Deal with it; more people wanted to see Twilight on its opening weekend than Wall-E. Or Hellboy II. Or, thankfully, High School Musical 3. The teen vamp romance grossed $70.5 million this weekend, making it the fourth biggest opening of the year, behind The Dark Knight, Iron Man and Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. Unsurprisingly, Summit greenlit the movie version of New Moon, the sequel, as a result. [Box Office Mojo] Read More: twilight,

‘Twilight’ Sequel in the Works, Says Studio
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 11/23/08 – “Twilight,” the big-screen adaptation of the Stephenie Meyer vampire novel of the same name, will get its sequel. Summit Entertainment announced Saturday that it would begin work on “New Moon,” the next chapter in the Bella Swan/Edward Cullen saga, which would also be based on its corresponding literary work. Despite a mediocre critical response, the book series’ devoted fan base of mostly (but not exclusively) teen and ‘tween girls came out in force

Whit spends the TWILIGHT with ridiculously good looking Vampires!
If someone asked, “What are the characteristics of a vampire?” there are certain things that would come to mind. They drink blood. They have sharp incisors. Perhaps they are fantastically good looking. If you are in a kitschy mood, you might say that they sleep in coffins or upside down, or that they live in castles or caves. Stakes, garlic, crosses, and holy water would undoubtedly come up. But you would miss the most critical characteristic of all: they all have ridiculously good hair. Or at least th

Twilight Writer Tries to Stay True to Book
"I didn't want to be that person who ruined Twilight," Melissa Rosenberg said one recent afternoon, days before the movie she scripted earned $70.6 million in its first weekend. That success has validated, at least financially, her decision to tread lightly on the Stephanie Meyer novel that provided the well-loved source material for the film. Rosenberg, an executive producer on Dexter whose writing credits include Step Up and The O.C., said she aimed to adapt the book rather than using it as a "jumping

What We're Thankful For ...
Here in the states it's Thanksgiving morning, a time to reflect back on the year, taking a moment to appreciate all the people and events that have made it special. I've been given an hour deadline to write this column, as evidently biscuits and gravy await my triumphant return ... so we haven't got much time to lose! A special thanks to Miley Cyrus. The catchy music, the YouTube videos, the Disney show, the felony dating record. She's got it all working right now. We can all look forward to decades of Mil

"Twilight" Review
I haven’t read the “Twilight” books yet, but I went into this movie expecting big things based on the massive fan frenzy. I wasn’t disappointed. “Twilight” is romantic and thrilling, whether you’re a teenager or a mom, and even though some of the content is dark, it’s still warm and uplifting. How does it manage to do that? More after the jump… Based on the books by Stephenie Meyer, Melissa Rosenberg has crafted a fine screenplay that digs deep int

Twilight Breaking Box Office Records
Stephenie Meyer’s literary smash, Twilight - making its first jump from paper onto the big screen - is breaking all kinds of records, taking in a whopping US$70.5 million in its opening weekend in the States. The film went straight to No. 1, knocking new Bond Quantum Of Solace off the top spot fairly spectacularly and beating such cinematic heavy-weights as Star Wars: Episode 1, Transformers and the Bourne Ultimatum in its first weekend of takings: a pretty mean feat, considering it only cost $37 mil

Twilight Cast and Crew Offer New Moon Insight
This Thanksgiving, Twilight fans have plenty to be thankful for. Their beloved world has crossed over into the mainstream as one of the year's most successful movies. The bigger news is that sequel New Moon is now a lock and it's very likely that Stephenie Meyer's entire series will eventually be adapted for the screen. The cast and crew should be thankful as well, as they now have job security within these uncertain economic times. Our friends over at MTV have compiled some of their Twilight coverage int

EW: Behind Twilight’s Success Plus Sequel Details
Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling Twilight saga just took a shocking bite out of the box office. Well, shocking to everyone but her fans. This week’s Entertainment Weekly has the story behind the smash—and the scoop on the sequel, New Moon. The first movie to be adapted from Meyer’s breakout hit—about the chaste romance between rebel vampire Edward and a shy high school girl named Bella—left many, if not all, of the author’s fans in a state of religious ecstasy. Made for under $40 million, Tw

Twilight Sequel Thoughts, Hopes
A Twilight sequel, based on Stephenie Meyer's book, New Moon, is already confirmed. Moreover, the movie's director and star have thoughts on what the next movie will feature."It's got werewolves, it's got visual effects that turn people into werewolves, it's got motorcycle stunts, you go to Italy. It's probably twice as much as this [to film]," director Catherine Hardwicke said when asked about a New Moon movie. And while the novel reduces Edward's presence, Robert Pattinson insists that New Moon is the insta

'Twilight' Beats Wednesday Opening of 'Four Christmases' To Lead Thanksgiving Box Office; 'Australia' Debuts Distant #7
THURSDAY EARLY AM: For this 5-day Thanksgiving holiday, it looks like Twilight and female tweens and teens will go together like turkey and pumpkin pie. It's too soon to call the weekend movie-wise based just on Wednesday's grosses. But the expected frontrunner, New Line/Warner Bros' sour Four Christmases, came in only No. 2 with $6M from 3,310 theaters behind $8M from 3,419 venues for Summit Entertainment's no-sex, no-violence, no-stars vampire romance that should spend another weekend No. 1. "All tho

Twilight (2008) Movie Review
The characters didn't fulfill my (a readers standpoint) thirst for the drama, love, and fatal attraction between Edward and Bella. The movie moved too quickly from scene to scene, and didn't emphazise on the parts that were emotionally significant in the books. I realize that the movie was on a small budget, yet the actors were paid $1 million EACH!? I think you should have invested your time and money into the film rather than your actors who honestly played the roles very poorly.

Twilight (2008) Movie Review
Sure the actors and actresses are hot, but lets not try and make a movie what its not. Its simply a teen romance soap, with a little mysticism thrown in so its not so generic. Come on he wants her body, but he is practicing abstinance, while she wants to sleep with him but can't. Its the same old story in a new package. Since teen girls (girl who wrote the review was the target audience) are obsessed with how hot the vampires are and all the romance, doesn't mean its a great movie. If you were to judge a

Robert Pattinson IS the Hot New Actor; according to Rolling Stone
“Twilight is a metaphor for the virtues of chastity, but it’s had the opposite effect,” the 22-year-old hunk told the magazine, which named him Hot Actor of the Year. “I get letters that say, ‘I’m going to kill myself if you don’t watch High School Musical 2 with me.’ ” Recalls Pattinson, “A mother recently gave me her baby and asked, ‘Can you please bite his head?’ ” Do you think Rob is the Hot Actor of the Year? { 0 comments… add one now }
