Laila Ali announced Thursday the birth of her first son, Curtis Muhammad Conway. The “American Gladiator” host and her husband, retired NFL star Curtis Conway brought home a 6.8 lbs, 19″ long baby boy.
“Although mom and baby are both healthy and happy, there were some surprises during labor that altered Laila’s birth plan,” said in a statement. Surprises notwithstanding, everyone is healthy and resting.

Laila Ali and her husband Curtis Conway welcomed a baby boy on August 26th. The baby actually has a normal name, Curtis Muhammad Conway. He weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces and 19 inches long. Laila’s rep said, “Mom and baby are both healthy and happy.”
This is the first child for the couple who wed on July 23, 2007. Ali is also step-mother to Conways’, twelve-year-old twin sons Cameron and Kelton and eight-year-old Leilani.
