Kristen Wiig: SNL's New Female Veteran
With the departure of Amy Poehler last month, Ms. Wiig has become, during only her fourth season, the most veteran female cast member on the show. Aside from standouts like Gilda Radner, "SNL" has not been known for developing female comedy brands until the Tina Fey era. In the last live broadcast, in December, Ms. Wiig appeared in every sketch but one. Though she may pop up as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi or the financial adviser Suze Orman when the show returns live next Saturday, she will most likely, at s
Top 100 interview: 'SNL' star Kristen Wiig (No. 25)
Comedian Kristen Wiig -- No. 25 on Pop Candy's list of the Top 100 People of 2008 -- is becoming one of the most popular faces of Saturday Night Live. This year, she continued to perfect her library of original characters (Aunt Linda, the Target Lady, Judy "just kidding" Grimes) while impersonating celebrities like Suze Orman and Nancy Pelosi.
Saturday Night Live: Hugh Laurie/Kanye West - VIDEOS
(S34E11) Can you hear the ladies and British comedy fans screaming? It's Hugh Laurie! The writing this week was stronger than usual, but I could not help but feel like they didn't use Hugh Laurie enough. When you get someone like that on the show, you better make sure the audience is sick of seeing him by the end of the episode. That said, Mr. Laurie did beautifully with what he was given and he's well on his way to becoming a regular host. Check out these video highlights from the episode.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Opening Ceremony Minutes before the 2008 Summer Olympics kicked off in Beijing, many Americans about to watch the coverage on NBC were probably thinking "Cammannnn, what kind of backward pony-show are these pinko Commie bastards gonna put on for the entire world." SNL, Please Hire Some More Comedians of Color
Saturday Night Live has been the launching pad for the careers of Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, and Tim Meadows. But for the past several seasons, the only reoccurring African-American member in the cast is Keenan Thompson. And as talented as Keenan is, he's a little too hefty to play Barack Obama.
So last January, when the cast needed an Obama impersonator to play against Amy Poehler's Hillary Clinton, they sent out a casting notice for an African-American male, but ultimately ended up putting the

See A Paul Thomas Anderson Production This Saturday!
A couple months ago Paul Thomas Anderson directed a stageplay in LA (which many described as a radioplay), which featured Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen, and John C Reilly. There were only a few performances, so if you were there, you were there, but if you missed it - YOU MISSED IT.
Well it appears that PTA is back at it again. And if you’re in Los Angeles, you’re not going to want to miss this event. It’s basically a revised version of the show that PTA put on earlier this Summer. J

First Look: Greg Mottola’s Adventureland
One of the movies I’ve been looking forward to is Superbad director Greg Mottola’s Adventureland coming of age film based on his own experiences at the Long Island amusement park. Set in 1987, the film follows James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg), an uptight recent college grad forced to take a minimum wage job at an amusement park when he realizes he can’t afford his dream tour of Europe. Writer/director Greg Mottola – best known as the director of the hit comedy Superbad – channeled his own e
Blazin’ Trailer: Adventureland
The first trailer for Superbad director Greg Mottola’s new pic, Adventureland, has gone up, and you can see it here. Adventureland, partly based on Mottola’s own life experiences, follows college graduate Jesse Eisenberg forced to take a summer job at a low-rent amusement park to help fund his travels.
The pic co-stars Twilight’s Kristen Stewart, Ryan Reynolds, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig and – in a bonus for Freaks & Geeks-loving Apatow fans – Martin Starr. It looks like a solid comedy (Hade
What's Next For Twilight's Kristen Stewart?
Fans won't have to wait until Twilight sequel New Moon debuts to see Kristen Stewart on the big screen. Up next for the young star is Adventureland, a romantic comedy set in an amusement park in the 1980s, from writer/director Greg Mottola (Superbad). The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg as a college student who takes a job at Adventureland and falls for fellow co-worker Stewart. Sounds like a perfect match, considering Stewart seems to fall for men with dark secrets and Eisenberg certainly has one.

Adventureland Trailer Now Online
The trailer for Greg Mottola’s Adventureland, his first movie since Superbad and his last movie before directing Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Paul, has just gone online over at Variety – and we likes, we likes a lot.A semi-autobiographical tale about a young man forced to spend a summer in 1987 working at his local theme park, Adventureland seems like a sweet, idiosyncratic coming-of-age comedy with what looks like a solid lead turn from relative newcomer Jesse Eisenberg, and some quality s
Adventureland
SUPERBAD's Greg Mottola directs this comedy about a floundering college grad (Jesse Eisenberg) who decides to work at an amusement park when his post-graduation plans fall through. ADVENTURELAND's talented cast includes Kristen Stewart (INTO THE WILD), Ryan Reynolds (DEFINITELY, MAYBE), and KNOCKED UP cast members Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, and Martin Starr.
Adventureland trailer
ADVENTURELAND is director Greg Mottola's follow-up to SUPERBAD, about a college grad in the 80s working a summer job at a theme park. The new trailer is throwing off a definite vibe of CADDYSHACK and FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH, and the movie is apparently a bit more serious than slapstick, although it's difficult to take Bill Hader with a big 'stache too seriously.
The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg, TWILIGHT cupcake Kristen Stewart, Ryan Reynolds, Hader and fellow SNLer Kristen Wiig. Click the prize below
Greg Mottola’s Adventureland
One of the films people have been talking about. The film is directed by Greg Mottola. It is based on his own experiences at the Long Island amusement park. Set in 1987, the film follows James Brennan, an uptight recent college grad forced to take a minimum wage job at an amusement park when he realizes he can’t afford his dream tour of Europe. Greg is also writing the film. The best part of the movie is the fact the director has channeled his own experiences as a low paid amusement park employee while ma
Trailer radar: 'Adventureland'
Kristen Stewart, Ryan Reynolds, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig co-star. Mottola also wrote the script. While the trailer doesn't exactly look as funny as "Superbad," it will be interesting to see what kind of adventures Eisenberg's character will come across in the film.
"Adventureland" is currently set for release March 27, 2009. Watch the trailer after the jump, and check out the official one-sheet below.

Saturday Night Live: John Malkovich/T.I. - VIDEOS
Filed under: OpEd, Saturday Night Live, Episode Reviews, Reality-Free(S34E10) The majority of this episode was pretty good. John Malkovich didn't contain the same contagious energy as other hosts this season, like Anne Hathaway or Tim McGraw, but infused the episode with his own... Malkovich-ness. Anyone that has seen his work knows what I'm talking about. I especially liked it when he introduced the musical guest(s), because it was hilariously obvious that he's never heard of any of these guys. Speaking of
