Johnny Depp Cast as The Mad Hatter (Amongst Other Roles)
Lots of casting news regarding daddy Johnny Depp. First of all, he's been cast as The Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland." I think it's a prerequisite for all Tim Burton films that Johnny Depp is somewhere in there, and I think they make a great pair. Depp will be joined by Australian actress Mia Wasikowska, who has been cast as Alice. Depp has also agreed to do a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film. I don't know why, the last one kind of blew, but Jack

Johnny Depp to Star in Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and The Lone Ranger
One of the other major announcements from yesterday’s Disney Showcase was actually three announcements in one… and they all involve Johnny Depp! Yep, it sure seems like Disney has hitched their wagon to Depp’s star, as they’ve got him lined up for not only another Pirates of the Carribean sequel, but also The Lone Ranger and an animated version of Alice in Wonderland! Alice in Wonderland will be a motion-capture animated film in the vein of Beowulf with Tim Burton at the helm. Depp

JOHNNY DEPP - DEPP IS DISNEY'S TRIPLE TREAT
Johnny Depp has been unveiled as Disney Studios' main man, after film bosses announced plans for a trio of movies all starring the Hollywood actor. Disney chairman DICk Cook revealed the news during a press conference at Los Angeles' Kodak Theatre on Wednesday (24Sep08), detailing plans for upcoming films that would tie Depp to the studio for the next few years. Cook confirmed that a third sequel to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was in the works, and that he would star as The Mad Hatter in direct

Johnny Depp Is Busy
Don't expect Johnny Depp to return your phone calls anytime soon, because he's going to be tied up for a while. And not tied up in the way you've fantasized about over and over again. The pimps at Disney have announced that Johnny will star in 3 films for them. Depp is officially a Disney whore! He's also the only Disney whore I want to see half-naked on MySpace. Johnny is currently shooting Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" for Tim Burton. He plays the Mad Hatter opposite Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Matt Luc

Johnny Depp to play in another Pirates sequel and in Lone Ranger Film
You know it’s a good day when you’re blessed with three stories about projects dreamboat Johnny Depp has signed on for. The news came out earlier today that Depp, 45, had signed on to play the Mad Hatter in a 3D live action animated adaption of Alice in Wonderland, to be directed by Tim Burton. Now there’s news that Depp has signed on for another Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, something that seemed to inevitably be coming based on the enormous box office take of the last three episodes.

Jonny Depp Gets More Work
The Sweeney Todd star is lining up for some new jobs. First, Johnny Depp is teaming back up with his long-time collaborator director Tim Burton. Johnny will be taking on the role of the Mad Hatter for Alice in Wonderland, which will be a live-action/CG animated feature and will star Australian actress Mia Wasikowska as Alice. In addition, Depp will be starring the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, taking on his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow once again. The busy actor wil

Johnny Depp Back as Captain Jack, Tonto & Mad Hatter
Looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more Johnny Depp. He’s signed to star in two new high-profile Disney projects, one of which is as Capt. Jack Sparrow in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie now in development. He’ll also play sidekick Tonto in a big-screen adaptation of The Lone Ranger and will team up again with frequent collaborator Tim Burton for Alice in Wonderland, where he will star as the Mad Hatter. Man, I am so sick of the Tim Burton and Johnny Depp live-fest. Stop humping e

Johnny Depp Confirmed as Mad Hatter in ‘Alice’
It’s official! Johnny Depp will play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland film. Not only that but the film will be shot in 3-D. Disney officially announced today that Johnny Depp will star as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. The film is based, naturally, on the Lewis Carroll classic “Alice in Wonderland,” and will combine performance-capture imagery, similar to Robert Zemeckis‘ Beowulf, with live-action footage. Good to hear, he’l

Johnny Depp is the Mad Hatter for Tim Burton
Depp and Burton — who first worked together in 1990’s “Edward Scissorhands” and most recently collaborated on “Sweeney Todd” — have formed one of the longest-running director-actor partnerships in modern Hollywood. When Burton committed to filming a new live-action/CG-animated version of “Alice,” Depp was touted as the most likely candidate to play the Mad Hatter — after all, having worked with Burton on “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,

Johnny Depp is Tim Burton’s Mad Hatter
The cast for the next Tim Burton movie, a 3-D live-action/CGI animated version of Alice In Wonderland, was announced today and in keeping with the perfect movie partnership they discovered 18 years ago, Johnny Depp will be playing the Mad Hatter.  If any story for a movie is appropriate to be filmed in 3-D, it would be Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.  The live-action/CGI is the method used in the recent Angelina Jolie movie Beowulf and it’s a good combination of animation and live acting

Johnny Depp Cast in Burton's Alice, The Lone Ranger and Pirates of the Caribbean 4
I just spent the last six and a half hours in the Kodak Theater in Hollywood watching Disney's big keynote event. So the next few stories will be about the big announcements that came out of the presentation. Johnny Depp has been cast in the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer produced adaptation of the classic old-time radio and early television show The Lone Ranger created by George W. Trendle. The series followed a masked Texas Ranger in the Old West who rights injustices with the aid of his native American as

Depp Pirates Up Again, Also Mad as a Hatter…and Tonto, Too
Johnny Depp undoubtedly excelled on International Talk Like a Pirate Day last week.  Oh, did I give away too much in that title? Well, let’s just clarify–according to Variety, Johnny Depp made an appearance at the Walt Disney Showcase today to announce he will return as Captain Jack Sparrow in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. He also will be playing Tonto in a new Lone Ranger movie and to no one’s surprise, will play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s upcoming adaptation of Ali

Johnny Depp Cast In Everything: “Pirates 4″, “The Lone Ranger”, “Alice In Wonderland”
Johnny Depp took center stage at Disney’s showcase for exhibitors Wednesday, as the studio announced three major casting deals for the Pirates star. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Depp’s agreed to reprise his role as Jack Sparrow for Pirates of the Caribbean 4 ($$$, y’all) and play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s 3D performance-capture Alice in Wonderland (Johnny Depp in a Tim Burton movie? you don’t say). But here’s the shocker of the bunch: he’s also going t

Johnny Depp Headed Back to the Caribbean
Johnny Depp is signing on to don his wig and eye liner yet again for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ part four. Depp has become famous for his portrayal of Jack Sparrow Captain of the Black Pearl for at least one more film. Lets face it you can not have a pirate movie without Johnny Depp. There is no confirmation on the script or even what it is about or if the rest of the cast will return. I guess if you have Captain Jack Sparrow who needs the rest. I would really miss Orlando Bloom but hey that is just me

Depp to Play Mad Hatter in 3-D Alice?
When I learned, via GreenCine Daily, that Johnny Depp might be playing the part of the Mad Hatter in a Tim Burton 3-D version of Alice in Wonderland (financed by the Disney Corp.) my first thought was - Why? Hadn’t Depp already played that part - or a visual simulacrum of it - in Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (above)? On second thought - Why not? If Depp could play Captain Jack in three Pirates films, why not revive his Willy Wonka characterization in the surreal context of a Lewis

Johnny Depp Back as Jack Sparrow in ‘Pirates 4′
Still no confirmation on what it’ll be about or even if any of the rest of the cast might return, but I suppose that doesn’t matter. As long as you have Captain Jack Sparrow, not only do you have the worst pirate you’ve ever seen, you also have a Pirates of the Caribbean movie.  He really has to be there. It’s a given.  Source: Variety POSTED BY: Nick Wolfwood Related Posts Johnny Depp To Present @ MTV Movie AwardsHappy Birthday Johnny DeppJohnny Depp is Hopelessly Romantic…Johnn

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Johnny Depp will preside over the manic tea party in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" as the Mad Hatter.

Johnny Depp to star in 'Pirates 4'
Disney is keeping Johnny Depp busy with a fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" film and co-starring turns in "The Lone Ranger" and "Alice in Wonderland." Since Depp's first three "Pirates of the Caribbean" films added $2.6 billion in worldwide box office to the Disney coffers, it was no surprise that the company made him its unofficial posterboy at its Wednesday (Sept. 24) presentation in Hollywood. Perhaps the most predictable piece of Depp-related casting announced at the event was that the Oscar nomin

10 Things You DON'T Know About Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp used to be a bit of a bad boy (well more like a very bad boy), some of his movies were not big hits (aka flops) and he's been known to have gotten down and dirty with a few Hollywood starlets.  However, the 45-year-old actor has tamed his wild ways, settled down with the love of his life, Vanessa Paradis, made two beautiful children with Vanessa - Lily Rose, 9, and son Jack, 6 - and his career is definitely hot (so is he).  Here are 10 things that you may not know about
