Johnny has been cast as The Mad Hatter for Tim Burton’s remake of Alice in Wonderland. Which you can more than likely except to be a little dark and grim like all his other movies. The part of Alice is going to be played by Mia Wasikowska. And Matt Lucas will play both Tweedledee and Tweedledum. That’s a

Johnny Depp is going to be one busy, busy guy for the next few years, and he’s going to have to make more room on his shelf for all the hats (no pun intended) he’s going to have to wear. News is that he’s signed on to play both Tonto and the Mad Hatter in two Disney films:

Johnny Depp dons another hat for Burton
Johnny Depp will preside over the manic tea party in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" as the Mad Hatter.
Depp and Burton -- who first worked together in 1990's "Edward Scissorhands" and most recently collaborated on "Sweeney Todd" -- have formed one of the longest-running director-actor partnerships in modern Hollywood. And so when Burton committed to filming a new live-action/CG version of "Alice," Depp was touted as the most likely candidate to play the Mad Hatter -- after all, having worked with Bur
Johnny Depp to play in another Pirates sequel and in Lone Ranger Film
You know it’s a good day when you’re blessed with three stories about projects dreamboat Johnny Depp has signed on for. The news came out earlier today that Depp, 45, had signed on to play the Mad Hatter in a 3D live action animated adaption of Alice in Wonderland, to be directed by Tim Burton. Now there’s news that Depp has signed on for another Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, something that seemed to inevitably be coming based on the enormous box office take of the last three episodes.
Johnny Depp to Star in Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and The Lone Ranger
One of the other major announcements from yesterday’s Disney Showcase was actually three announcements in one… and they all involve Johnny Depp! Yep, it sure seems like Disney has hitched their wagon to Depp’s star, as they’ve got him lined up for not only another Pirates of the Carribean sequel, but also The Lone Ranger and an animated version of Alice in Wonderland!
Alice in Wonderland will be a motion-capture animated film in the vein of Beowulf with Tim Burton at the helm. Depp

Disney announces ‘boatload’ of new projects: Johnny Depp to star in 3 features!!
The Mickey Mouse empire had many exciting announcements but the Big Star, however, was Johnny Depp, who has proved to be Disney’s golden boy in the Pirates of the Carribean franchise that brought in a combined $2.6 billion at the box office.
And staying with a good thing, Johnny is coming back for a fourth Pirates installment. It was also announced Depp will also be playing Tonto in a film adaptation of The Lone Ranger, another Jerry Bruckheimer production (he did all the Pirate installments as well)
First Look! Disney Mule Johnny Depp Reviving Tonto For New, 'Lone Ranger'-Starved Generation [The End Of Ideas]
With infidel Mickey Mouse still in hiding after last week's death-sentence fatwa, Disney appears to be rolling the dice on a bold rebranding of sorts. Behold — Disney Depp (née Johnny), whose anchoring of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise yielded yesterday's news of not only Pirates 4, but also the star's attachment as Tim Burton's Mad Hatter in a live-action Alice in Wonderland and as Tonto in a revival of The Lone Ranger. The announcement was made Wednesday in Disney's marathon State of the Mo
Johnny Depp IS the Mad Hatter in ‘Alice’
Back in July, we found an article about the possibility of Johnny Depp appearing in Tim Burton’s upcoming version of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland,” and now it’s official: Depp will be a part of the project.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Depp will play the Mad Hatter. Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is set to play Alice, with Matt Lucas starring as Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
Although I usually ignore rumors, I figured Depp would make at least some sort of appearance in the film.
Johnny Depp Back as Jack Sparrow in ‘Pirates 4′
Still no confirmation on what it’ll be about or even if any of the rest of the cast might return, but I suppose that doesn’t matter. As long as you have Captain Jack Sparrow, not only do you have the worst pirate you’ve ever seen, you also have a Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
He really has to be there. It’s a given.

Sadly, Johnny Depp To Play Three More Silly Characters [Casting]
No one's asking Johnny Depp to pursue a boring, traditional Hollywood acting career, but this is just getting ridiculous. The Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas star has been cast in three new movies, all of which are silly, "quirky" character parts that will further obscure the man's innate talent behind a curious mask of ticks and inflections, jaunty gaits and syncopated eye blinks.
He'll once again Keith Richards it up in another, the fourth, Pirates of the Caribbean movie (to be titled Pirates of the Carib

The World Is About To End! Happy Weekend!
Unless you live in a cave, you know that things haven’t been going well for the United States during the past couple of weeks. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers and AIG crumbled under the weight of our own idiocy and greed (and are also being investigated by the FBI, yay!), Democrats and Republicans are harshly divided, no one can agree on Bush’s $700 billion bailout, and Washington Mutual was just sold off to JP Morgan.
