John McCain Reschedules With Letterman
Senator John McCain has agreed to appear on David Letterman’s “Late Show” on CBS this Thursday, according to the show’s Web site, lateshow.cbs.com. The appearance comes after Mr. McCain canceled a Sept. 24 appearance, saying he was suspending his campaign and heading to Washington to give the economic crisis his immediate attention. When Mr. Letterman, above right, learned that Mr. McCain was staying in New York for another day and sitting for an interview with Katie Couric, he ripped into the candi
Letterman/McCain Smackdown is ON, Definitely Maybe
Riff is going to the dance to make nice with Bernardo, so this Thursday America will be able to witness the ultimate mambo as John McCain makes his long-awaited appearance (probably) on The Late Show with David Letterman. Unless he backs out again, of course.
The question is: Will Letterman take the Bill O'Reilly route and go all soft and sweet once he has his opponent in the chair? Or will he continue to berate McCain and hope the audience he's already lost during the debacle is less than the n
McCain to Rectify Letterman Rejection
In what was a costly PR error in someone’s strategy judgment John McCain ditched the David Letterman show last minute a few weeks ago claiming that he was on his way to sort out the country’s financial crisis. This advice had to have come from a rookie strategist because anyone with any sense would know the outcome given that David Letterman is a very sharp comedian who isn’t that fond of the Republican party, especially its current President, as it is. Surely someone in the McCain camp has been w

John McCain Now Throwing More Than Dirty Looks At Obama [Strategy And Tactics]
In the waning hours of the political campaign, with his political star already eclipsed by the popularity of his own running mate and his insistence on abandoning most of the principles he used to swear he stood for, John McCain has gotten a little desperate. Or, rather, his campaign staff has, since John McCain himself still has a job to go back to on November 5th. Well, except for that his campaign is fully staffed with highly paid corporate lobbyists "on leave" so most of them do, too, except that they w

John McCain’s Awesome Do-Over Speech
Walnuts is re-launching his campaign for the millionth time, hurrah! Today he unveils a new speech, full of humor and zest and “my friends” and transparent falsehoods like, “we’ve got them just where we want them,” because yes, six months ago if you had asked John McCain where he wanted to be 21 days from the election, he would have said, “Down 10 points nationally and fighting to keep Virginia and North Carolina in the red column.”

McCain on Letterman Show: McCain Letterman Oct 16 2008
John McCain wants to make it up to David Letterman. McCain had bailed out of Letterman’s show on Sept. 24. McCain told Letterman he was rushing to leave for Washington to battle the economy crisis. Letterman’s studio jacked the live feed from neighboring Katie Couric’s news program and showed McCain about to go on air. The credibility of McCain fell. Letterman used that incident as his talking point for many days and is still using it now.

Snoozetown: John McCain To Appear On Letterman After All
Remember a couple of weeks ago when John McCain didn't show up to the Late Show with David Letterman and Letterman spent all that time on the air making fun of him? Shrug. From the New York Post:

Showdown Set for McCain and Letterman
After canceling an appearance last month and causing some bruised feelings on David Letterman's part, McCain is coming back to the Late Show this Thursday, Oct. 16, to face the music, courtesy of Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.
Considering McCain has appeared on the show 12 times, it's probably safe to assume the senator and the talk show host will make amends.
