Maya Rudolph to Appear on Kath & Kim
Kath & Kim & Maya?On the heels of her well-received turn as a lounge-singing Michelle Obama on Saturday Night Live ("Solid... solid as Barack!"), Maya Rudolph will guest-star on an upcoming episode of the NBC sitcom Kath & Kim, alongside fellow SNL alum Molly Shannon, according to executive producer Michelle Nader. Rudolph plays a spiritual guide who helps Phil (John Michael Higgins) lose weight, and then becomes a bit of a "girl crush" to Shannon's Kath. See which big-name diva may be hanging w
The Top 8 Women Who Changed the Face of 'SNL' [Defamer Lists]
newVideoPlayer("/snl8_def.flv", 506, 423,""); In honor of Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon, whose poorly-received sitcom Kath & Kim premieres tonight on NBC, we thought it was time to pay tribute to the women who've made the biggest mark on SNL over the years. Whether it's Tina Fey, whose profile has surged since her Sarah Palin guest appearances, or an underrated player like Jan Hooks who shines in late-night SNL reruns, we have a soft spot for the women who've succeeded despite being greatly outnum
Kristen Wiig is everywhere (and I like it) (2 articles)
EVERYONE knows someone like Penelope, the hair-tugging, chronically fibbing one-upper (Speeding ticket? “I have 99 speeding tickets. I was speeding so fast I broke the sound barrier.”) that Kristen Wiig plays on “Saturday Night Live,” or so she’s beginning to hear. Or maybe they’ve — you’ve — had a run-in with the gum-popping, eye-rolling, demanding megajerks; the chatty, bargain-hungry Target cashier; or an irritated armchair film critic like Aunt Linda, who mispronounces Scorsese but lov
Mark Wahlberg isn’t a fan of Saturday Night Live.
Mark Wahlberg is not so happy with the “Saturday Night Live” sketch from October 4th called “Mark Wahlberg Talks To Animals”. In Sunday’s NY Post, Mark Wahlberg has a Q&A to help promote his upcoming movie “Max Payne,” towards the end is asked what he thought of the skit. Andy Samberg plays Mark Wahlberg as he talks to a dog, a goat, a chicken and a donkey. It’s described on NBC’s website as “Barky Bark and the Donkey Bunch.” Sample dialo
Mark Wahlberg Does Not Want to Be the Next Christopher Walken
Besides the Tina Fey as Sarah Palin run, the funniest thing on SNL this season was last week's "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals" sketch, where Andy Samberg hams up the Boston actors mannerisms for a deceptively simple plot of…talking to farm animals. It's already become a meme, in part because the impression of Wahlberg is not a dead likeness: in fact, it would be hard-pressed for someone before this sketch to nail down exactly what Marky Mark sounds like. But now with the ultimate
"Mama Grizzly" Palin is Coming for Caroline and Tina Fey
A new interview with Sarah Palin just released has us wishing that we were whisked back to the fall where we knew we could count on Tina Fey and SNL to send it up the following Saturday. The interview features Palin given the opportunity to watch the clip of Tina playing her in the VP debate and firing off what some said was the best line of the election year: "Marriage is a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers." It turns out that Palin had not seen the clip before the interview a few days ago
MSN produces surpringly somewhat accurate list on the year 2008
Maybe 2007 left us spoiled. With future classics like "Zodiac," "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" gracing our screens, 2008, so far, feels a little less ... significant. But that was on first glimpse; now that we've dug in and really looked back through the entire year, we can safely say (and the year's not over yet) that 2008 has been interesting, unexpected -- especially when it comes to performers.Comedians who are usually funny, like Mike Myers and Will Ferrell, were outshined by actors
Tina Fey & Sarah Silverman: Comedy Catfight? [Dirt Bag]
A stupid psychic has made some predictions for 2009: Michelle Williams will wed Neil Patrick Harris, Jen and Angelina will co-star in a movie and Tina Fey will fight Sarah Silverman. Sarah Palin “How Obama Got Elected” Video
Sarah Palin is back!! We admit we have missed her! The Alaska Governor is the star of John Ziegler’s upcoming documentary “Media Malpractice - How Obama Got Elected” and guess what? Sarah blames it all on the media and unnamed bloggers who scrutinized her life. Not even John McCain escaped her tirade - she blames him and his handlers for the famous disastrous interview with Katie Couric (see SNL’s spoof with Tina Fey here>>).

Chez Pazienza: One Last Look Back: The 10 Most Ridiculous, Shameful, or Generally Unfortunate People and Events of 2008 (and What They Mean for 2009)
Well, it could've been worse. As 2008 mercifully ends, we're left to ponder a year in which the real and the surreal were pretty much indistinguishable, where insanity actually became tedium, and where every silver lining was eclipsed by a brand new dark cloud. Sure, O.J.'s going to prison, but think about the absurdist comedy-of-errors it took to finally put him there. Yeah, gas is technically affordable again, but who has money to make car payments -- and for that matter, will anyone in Detroit still be in

Rob Pattinson: 'Tina Fey Is the Sexiest Woman'
Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson likes smart, strong women. Pattinson, 22, has become an international sex symbol, thanks to his delicate portrayal of the dreamy vampire Edward Cullen in the blockbuster Twilight.
Rob, who is single, has been traveling a lot recently to promote the popular vampire romance. And at every stop, he is mobbed by hordes of screaming teenage fans.
But while his fan base is largely comprised of young girls, it sounds like Rob prefers older women, saying he used to have crushes o
A Little Defensive and Insecure, Marky Mark?

Mark Wahlberg slammed Saturday Night Live when he was asked how he felt about the show's October sketch entitled Mark Wahlberg Talks To Animals.

Caroline gittin' an easy ride, moans Palin
Forget moose - Sarah Palin is back in Alaska and training her sights on other big game, from Caroline Kennedy to Tina Fey and Katie Couric.
In an interview posted Thursday on the Web, the former Republican veep nominee complains that Kennedy's blue-blood pedigree will get her softball treatment from the press as she chases Hillary Clinton's U.S. Senate seat.
"I've been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such

SNL SPOOFS PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
It’s no Tina Fey creation us laugh/cry as Sarah Palin - in actuality, you’d be tough pulpy to find the Barack Obama sense that’s less droll than Saturday Night Live’s.
But if the indicate of the blueprint next was to prominence the ludicrous format as great as complete pettiness of this week’s presidential discuss, afterwards great finished, SNL!
This mistake discuss aired during the show’s special, precipitated Thursday prime-time book final night . It’s flatteri
SNL Spoofs Presidential Debate
It's no Tina Fey making us laugh/cry as Sarah Palin - in fact, you'd be hard pressed to find a Barack Obama impression that's less funny than Saturday Night Live's.But if the point of the sketch below was to highlight the absurd format and utter worthlessness of this week's presidential debate, then well done, SNL!This faux debate aired during the show's special, condensed Thursday prime-time edition last night. It's pretty good, and even includes a Bill Murray cameo.
'Kath & Kim' no laughing matter, say critics
"'Kath' manages to waste the talents of Molly Shannon while exposing the limits of Selma Blair's comedy range."
Review: 'Kath & Kim'
The international markets plunge, the presidential campaign sinks to mudslinging lows and "Kath & Kim” premieres tonight at 8:30 on NBC. Is that the sound of the Seventh Seal cracking in an ancient desert somewhere?
One of a fistful of international remakes flung against this television season, "Kath & Kim" opens with the first of its titular characters working out in clothes that haven't been popular since Jane Fonda was bulimic. Seriously, purple spandex and a colored sweatband? What did Mol

Also, wow, didn’t see this coming. But I’d have NEVER GUESSED Britney and Kevin weren’t going to make it either, so I should probably give up my side job as a fortune teller. (AM NY)

“The View” hits it’s highest numbers.
ABC’s The View is enjoying some political push right now. The show had it’s most-watched week in history last week with an average of 4.2 million viewers.
Unfortunately for Saturday Night Live, the Maya Rudolph as Michelle Obama episode only drew 9.3 million viewers, down 38% from the 15.1 million who tuned in to see Sarah Palin on October 18th, setting a 14-year high.

NBC Gives ‘Kath & Kim’ Back-Nine Order
NBC has decided to show some patience with low-rated new comedy “Kath & Kim,” giving the series a full-season order.
The network late Friday ordered nine additional episodes of the Universal Media Studios/Reveille-produced half-hour, which stars Molly Shannon and Selma Blair. NBC had previously ordered a full season of freshman drama “Knight Rider.”
“Kath & Kim” has averaged a weak 2.6 rating/7 share among adults 18-49 and just 6 million viewers. However, NBC is taking heart from the fact that
