DOLLY PARTON - “I can relate to Sarah Palin…Both Small town girls…We both carry an AK- 47.”
In “Extra’s” exclusive interview with Dolly Parton today in Nashville, the country legend declared, “I can relate to Sarah Palin. I always say we’re very much alike. Both small town girls. Both a Pentecostalism and we both carry an AK-47.”
Parton kicks off another leg of her “Backwoods Barbie World Tour” on October 17th in Florida and continues through the middle of November.
“Extra’s” full interview with Dolly Parton airs tomorrow, Friday, October 3rd.

Dolly Parton's "Jolene": A Popular Cover Choice For Musicians Ages 9-99 [More Dolly, I Say]
NPR's All Things Consideredtook a look at Dolly Parton's "Jolene" this week, which is not only the lone song my wife will sing at karaoke, but a popular target for actual musicians as well. (It was also performed by an unnamed fifth grader at my son's elementary school talent show last week. When a song hits the talent show playlist, you know it's moved into "classic" territory.) "It's a great chord progression—people love that 'Jolene' lick," Parton told NPR. "It's as much a part of the song almost as t
Dolly Parton is heading for the big screen….
The singer/actress, who is receiving rave reviews in Los Angeles for writing the stage version of her hit movie 9 To 5, is hoping to follow up that project with her life story.
Dolly said that three actresses will portray her at different points in her life onstage - and she’d play the current Dolly if the musical is picked up as a movie.
She says, “I’m writing my own life story as a musical. I won’t even probably be in it, but, if I do it as a movie, I would play the later part. It would be d
9 to 5 - the musical - take two!
hey kids! i'm heading downtown again this evening...after seeing 9 to 5 - the musical a few weeks ago (read my glowing review) i decided that i simply had to go one more time (especially being a huge Dolly Parton fan) before it closes here in los angeles on october 19th (the show will then head east to NYC's broadway where it will play at the marriott's marquis theatre next spring) last time i was in the 2nd row orchestra but on the left side - tonight i'm in the 2nd row again but smack dab in the center...
Dolly Parton opens up…..maybe too much.
Dolly Parton has revealed something that we probably all wondered about. Well, not really, but now that I think about it, I should have. She goes to bed fully made-up and with her wig by her bed whenever she’s staying in New York or Los Angeles, so she’ll always look good if there’s a hotel evacuation.
The country queen fears a fire or an earthquake will force her out of her hotel room whenever she’s in Los Angeles and New York, and she worries she’ll have to run out in the street.
She says,

Dolly Parton's latest: Broadway-bound musical
Dolly Parton is at her most delightful when she's laughing at her own jokes. Perched on a leather chair in the den of producer Bob Greenblatt's gorgeous Craftsman home in the Hollywood Hills on a mild September day, the 62-year-old country music queen punctuated an interview about her work in "9 to 5: The Musical," which just opened at the Ahmanson Theatre, with zingers she admittedly has used a hundred times before. She would let forth a line - "People always ask me if I'm offended by all the dumb-blond jo

Is Eminem Dead?
Has rapper Eminem died in a car crash or is this another sick rumor started by someone online? And if it's a rumor, why do people start a story like that?Apparently blogs are a blaze with reports of the singer dying in a car crash Sunday night. However, there are no credible news sources that are confirming such a story. This isn't the first time that Slim Shady was reported dead - the same sort of story appeared back in 2000. The website Urban Legends had issued a state
