DAME Shirley Bassey has been released from hospital, just days after undergoing an emergency stomach operation. The 71-year-old Welsh star was admitted to a hospital in Monaco, France - where she now resides - with abdominal pains last week (ends23May08). But Bassey's spokesman Paul Carey says she is now at home "resting up and on the road to a full recovery".
