How I Met Your Mother: One of this season's strongest episodes, “Bagpipes,” was all about different types of couples and how they deal with conflict. Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) thinks he and Robin (Cobie Smulders) are the best couple. They've had sex in 83 and a half beds (the half was a 19th century ottoman in an antique shop). They never fight, except about who's more awesome, which is understandable. I'm in a deadlock over that one too. As Ted (Josh Radnor) calls it, they have... Read full story at Los Angeles Times

Review: How I Met Your Mother - Bagpipes
(S05E06) The thing that always amazes me about this show is that how Old Ted is perfectly content to tell his kids about all the tawdry things he or Barney did back in those heady days of the mid-to-late-'00s, but every so often he realizes who he's talking to and substitutes a clean term for a dirty term. I'd imagine this inconsistency is done on purpose by Bays/Thomas and their writers; why have Old Ted pull back on his stories unless there's a laugh to be had? This is how we got the...

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS: PACKING ON POUNDS FOR -HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER'
The upcoming 11/9 episode of the hit CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, promises to lend some truth to the old relationship adage, “First you get fit, then you get comfortable”. Apparently, the pairing of Barney and Robin (Neil Patrick Harris, Cobie Smulders) hits a rocky road as the show looks at what might be. According to producer CARTER BAYS, Harris was not only game to do it but went to wardrobe and said, “Give me the biggest fat-suit you’ve got”.

SWEEPS PREVIEW & POLL: Enter to Win $1,000!: PHOTO
Holy union! Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) are getting engaged! HIMYM (Mondays, 8/7c, CBS) cocreator Carter Bays tells TV Guide Magazine exclusively, “It happens spontaneously. It's a pretty snap decision, but it has consequences for them and for the rest of the group.” We'll say. But it's not like these two lifelong commitment-phobes have been themselves lately. “We're seeing what basically boils down to a new Barney and a new Robin,” Bays says. “This...

The CBS Monday-night comedy block returns with fresh stuff on November 2 after a week off with repeats. How I Met Your Mother kicks off the two-hour period with its latest episode “ Bagpipes .” Marshall and Lily get into a big fight, thanks to… …Barney’s bad relationship advice while trying to prove he and Robin are a perfect couple. How I Met Your Mother - Marshall The Brave
Ted has new upstairs neighbors who haven't stopped having loud sex since the moment they moved in. It's driving him and Robin crazy. Saget!Ted doesn't want to get explicit with his kids (um... since when?), so he substitutes bagpipes for sex in his narration. And that's nearly all there really is to say about that, because it was a vapid B-plot. In the A-Plot, Barney has decided that since he was the perfect single, he's now one perfect half of a perfect couple, and starts giving unsolicited...

Future Ted talks about how the upstairs neighbors love to play the bagpipes loudly. Of course, bagpipes is a kid friendly way of referring to sex. Ted goes to the bar to not listen to bagpipe and Barney goes to say he is concerned about Marshall's relationship with Lily because Lily asked him to clean the dishes right away. Marshall comes up and Barney expresses his concern. Barney tells them how he handles fights - he just leaves. Robin handles conflict by getting naked. Marshall says that...

How I Met Your Mother - Dueling Dualities
Over a shot of Ted, Marshall, Lily and Barney bundling up to go ice skating, Saget!Ted reminds his (unseen in this episode) children that Aunt Robin grew up in Canada so sometimes, she did things a little differently. For example, she dressed a little differently. Robin, wearing a short sleeved shirt and miniskirt, comes out carrying her skates and yelling, "Let's DO this!" She takes off without even a jacket. Cut to MacLaren's, where Robin meets up with the gang. Saget!Ted says she sometimes...

How I Met Your Film Noir Mother: VIDEO
CBS’s sitcom How I Met Your Mother is notorious for playing around with structure and style. Over the past four years, we’ve seen slap bets, threesome belts, and the efficacy of “The Naked Man.” One thing we haven’t seen, however, is what the show would look like as a film noir. Thankfully, CBS has remedied that oversight with the below video promoting the upcoming fifth season. Starring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, and the incomparable Neil Patri

Now that Barney and Robin are out of the bag, it's time for the Emmy-nominated How I Met Your Mother (premieres Monday, 8/7c, CBS) to have even more fun this season. "We've kicked the door open on them together — I guess you can say together — and the floodgates of hilarious stories have opened up because there's nothing funnier than two people who are just terrible at being in relationships trying to be in a relationship," creator Carter Bays tells TVGuide.com. Of course, Barney and...

Who'll host the Oscars? The oddsmakers like Billy Crystal
Oscar roulette is usually played when it comes time to figure out the nominations. However, this year there seems to be a wheel of fortune spinning with the names of possible hosts for the show. Of course, the folks running the show have intimated that they might want to have a few stars sharing the duties. Historically, that hasn't worked out too well. The other day when Hugh Jackman removed his name from the running , I asked you for your ideas and told you that I like Kathy Griffin. Jimmy...
