Alfonso Cuaron, Guillermo del Toro and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu will produce writer/director Rodrigo Garcia's next feature, the ensemble drama Mother and Child.
The $4.5 million project follows the intersecting lives of a 50-year-old woman, the daughter she gave up for adoption 35 years ago and a black woman looking to adopt a baby.

Remaking "The Witches"
Remember that classic film, The Witches, where the little boy who gets turned into a mouse must stop the Witches of England?
Well they're remaking it eighteen years after the original. Guillermo del Toro directs and Alfonso Cuaron produces the Ronald Dahl classic. There still isn't much news on it, but it is slated for a 2008/2009 release date.

From BBC: Director Guillermo del Toro has announced plans to write a trilogy of vampire novels with crime author Chuck Hogan. The 43-year-old, best known for making Pans Labyrinth, Hellboy and The Devil’s Backbone, said the trilogy would advance in “unexpected ways”. The first book, The Strain, will be released next summer.
