Warner Bros. and Fox are pursuing a settlement of their bitter dispute over "Watchmen."
Attorneys for the studios agreed Friday to delay a federal court hearing until Monday in order to continue settlement talks.
The hearing had been set to take place Friday before US District Court Judge Gary Feess in Los Angeles for the jurist to rule on Warner's request for an expedited hearing on the key issue -- whether to grant Fox's demand to block Warner's plans to release "Watchmen" on March 6.

'Watchmen' deal in works - Entertainment News, Watching the 'Watchmen', Media - Variety
Warner Bros.' plan to release "Watchmen" in March may proceed after all as the studio and 20th Century Fox are in the thick of talks to settle the bitter dispute over the rights to the superhero pic.
Attorneys for both studios disclosed Friday that they had achieved progress toward an accord and agreed to delay a federal court hearing until today in order to continue settlement talks. Reps for Fox and Warner had no comment about terms of a possible settlement, which would probably see Fox receive a stake in

The 'Watchmen' Legal Drama May Soon End
Update: The Hollywood Reporter is now saying that Fox and Warner are close to a settlement in the legal drama over embattled film, Watchmen. The two parties met behind closed doors in the chambers of presiding Judge Gary Allen Feess for about 30 minutes on Monday. While exact details of the meeting were not released, the fact remains that Warner has stopped its attempts to move up the Jan. 20 date on which Judge Feess was set to deliver his decision on Fox's power to delay the release of the film. This coul

If you decided to watch "24" instead of the Golden Globes, you probably already saw this...
The Week in Trailers: 'Watchmen' Turning Japanese, 'Hannah Montana,' and Zombies
Plenty of new trailers from this past week, more than I thought there were, actually. But we've got everything from incredible trailers for a film you've probably never heard of to bad trailers for movies that could probably use a good one to sell some more tickets.
Some of the biggest trailer news of the week came with no video at all: The number of films that will debut trailers during the Super Bowl is growing. We'll see new stuff from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek, Angels & Demons,
Scott Mendelson: New York Times Watchmen article just makes stuff up (for fun?).
Here is a brief article by Michael Ciepley detailing the possibility of a settlement with Fox and Warner Bros. over the rights issues of Watchmen (and, because I'm nice, here's the new Watchmen Japanese trailer). The final paragraph of said article is littered with conjecture and falsehoods.
"Given that Warner Brothers' big comic-book release of 2008, The Dark Knight, is getting lots of Oscar buzz, a movie with a similar pedigree in the world of comic books like Watchmen could be in the running next year.
Super Bowl push planned for film ads - Entertainment News, Film News, Media - Variety
The hefty pricetag to advertise during the Super Bowl may have scared off major marketers during a down economy, but it hasn’t forced Hollywood to sit on the sidelines.
Nearly every studio will push pics during the big game, airing on NBC Feb. 1, with the movie lineup naturally made up of summer tentpoles whose studios hope to appeal to the nearly 100 U.S. million viewers that tune in to the broadcast.
Confirmed for this year’s roster are high-profile titles like Paramount’s "Transformers:

My Life in RuinsNia Vardalos, writer and star of the My Big Fat Greek Wedding and its mercifully short-lived TV version My Big Fat Greek Life stars as an American working as a tour guide in Greece. Apparently she finds romance with a creepy bus driver who likes to be called "Poopy," which is one of the reasons something stinks so badly about this one. The ruination begins on May 8.Watchmen (Japanese trailer)I'm almost at the point where I think I should stop watching the new Watchmen trailers (yes, I know,

Tyler Bates Composing 'Halloween' Sequel
Writer/Director Rob Zombie updated his blog once again confirming the return of Tyler Bates, composer of HALLOWEEN. "
Tyler Bates has returned to begin work on

" Zombie writes, "
Fresh off his composer duties on DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and The Watchmen. The man himself will begin work immediately on the soundtrack to H2. Expect a bold new direction for the sounds to make you shiver.

Watchmen’s Malin Akerman
I find Malin Akerman super engaging on screen. She radiates sunshine even as she is playing the bratty, messed up girl in some of her films. She can play the girl next door type and she can also do the opposite. Either way, she remains lovable, doesn’t she?
In 2009, expect Malin to continue to shine [...]
H2: Halloween 2 news
Michael Myers' New MaskIt wasn’t long ago that FEARnet sat down with Halloween redux director Rob Zombie and got the skinny on H2 and Tyler Mane’s role reprisal as Michael Myers. But since then, Zombie has been a “Myspace update madman”! Amidst the oodles of goodies on Zombie’s official Myspace, he’s recently released early photos of a version of the Michael Myers mask he’s planning for H2.According to Zombie - “FX master Wayne Toth is back to work creating the latest and greatest version of
Sci-Fi Trailer: Franklyn
“Franklyn” looks like a cross between “Watchmen” and “V for Vendetta”. Coincidentally (or is it?) both movies are works of fiction by the increasingly nutso Alan Moore. Then again, you wouldn’t have to know the name Alan Moore if you’ve seen trailers for “Watchmen” and seen the actual movie version of “V for Vendetta”, as that’s exactly what “Franklyn” looks like. The fantasy scenarios set in Meanwhile City
