Zach Snyder Set for Star Wars Reboot!
Jaw-dropping news hit the convention floors at this year's Showest as attendees of the Lucasfilm panel witnessed Watchmen director, Zack Snyder and George Lucas himself announce to the world that Snyder has been tapped to reboot the Star Wars franchise. Snyder is apparently writing and directing a new version of the seminal George Lucas opus, with plans to "re-imagine" Lucas's original fan-beloved trilogy, with episodes 4, 5 and 6 of the franchise.

Zack Snyder To Direct Star Wars Reboot? Or April Fools Joke!?
At this year’s ShoWest, Zack Snyder and George Lucas announce to the world that Snyder has been tapped to reboot the “Star Wars” franchise!? April fools joke?
Maybe but here’s the word from MovieWeb.com:“To be honest, Zack wasn’t always my first choice,” Lucas told a crowd of skeptical journalists and fans. “But I feel he [...]
Use The Force... Zac??
"High School Musical" Star Zac Efron had the chance to visit George Lucas' museum-like home, Skywalker Ranch, during the filming of his "17 Again" film. And
Efron
was so inspired by Lucas' collection that he is now requesting to be considered for the lead role in the "Star Wars" TV series.
" There were real stormtrooper outfits, real memorabilia from the movie. There were a lot of valuable things we were wrecking in that house. That element, that nerd...
George Lucas film 'Red Tails' gets green light
George Lucas has turned his attentions from "Star Wars" to World War II and an all-star cast for his next film project, "Red Tails."
Star Wars: A Musical Journey - rated U for extreme violins
Given their history of visiting unusual places, Luke Skywalker and Frodo
Baggins shouldn’t be too put off their stride this Easter. For the pair are
taking up brief London residencies, not in the grand, custom-built cinemas
they usually frequent, but in the circular vastness of the O2 Arena and the
Albert Hall.
Zac Efron wants to be Luke Skywalker.
Zac Efron says he wants to bring Luke Skywalker to TV after playing with some of the “Star Wars” props at George Lucas’ California mansion.
Zac filmed scenes for his new movie “17 Again” at Lucas’ home, Skywalker Ranch, and now he’s begging George for a leading role in his Star Wars TV series.

Have Sweet Dreams Resting In The Innards Of Your Own Tauntaun [Star Wars]
Zip open the carcass of your very own Tauntaun sleeping bag, and rest inside its warm gooey organs, for a snowy sleep. The brilliant minds over at Think Geek cooked up this Tauntaun bag, complete with light saber zipper, how else were you going to get inside?Sadly, it's an April Fools' joke but wouldn't it be amazing if someone actually made these sleeping bags, hell I'd still sleep in it today. This is by far the best, and cruelest joke we've seen all day. Well done, geeks.

The Worst Homemade Star Wars Costumes
If you haven't already noticed, we're big into costumes here at Cinematical. Not only do we have a category for Fan Made items, but we also host an annual Halloween Costume Contest that's arguably one of the best costume contests ever created in the history of man. But while it's always a good time to congratulate those hard-working, talented fans out there on a job well done, sometimes it's amusing to snicker at those costumes that ... um, didn't quite live up to expectations. That's where...
When 'Twilight' Fans Attack
Look, I'm all for being a hardcore fan of a particular piece of entertainment. Growing up I had G.I. Joe action figures and really enjoyed the Star Wars movies, but one thing I never did was attempt to slit the throat of someone who wasn't as keen on Luke Skywalker as I was. But we didn't have internet back in those days, and perhaps that's part of what's created this new breed of fandom -- this obsessive, violent behavior between kids who like love Twilight and kids who don't. Apparently...

Harrison Ford says George Lucas in ‘think mode’ on another ‘Indiana Jones’ film
Harrison Ford said Friday that momentum is building for a fifth movie in the “Indiana Jones” franchise and that George Lucas is already cooking up a suitable plot for a heroic senior citizen with a penchant for whips and fedoras.
“It’s crazy but great,” the 66-year-old Ford said. “George is in think mode right now.”
“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” grossed $318 million in the U.S. alone and $770 million worldwide and is expected to
Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard Lead Way in Lucasfilm’s ‘Red Tails’
The only bad thing about daytime screenings is occasionally missing news when it breaks as I was unfortunately out when a press release arrived announcing the cast and upcoming production start for Red Tails , a fictional story inspired by the historic and heroic exploits of America’s first all black aerial combat unit to be directed by Anthony Hemingway (”The Wire”) and written by John Ridley ( Three Kings ) from a story by executive producer George Lucas.

Cuba Gooding Jr. Joining Method Man For George Lucas WWII Epic ‘Red Tails’
George Lucas is finally realizing his decades-long dream of producing a film about the Tuskegee Airmen, and the wildly unique cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr. and Method Man. The Anthony Hemingway -directed flick “ Red Tails ” has popped up from time to time for Lucas in interviews, but an announcement today indicates that he has his actors and they’re ready to suit up and start production.
“I’ve been wanting to do ‘Red Tails’ for 20 years, and we’ve...
George Lucas WWII Movie ‘Red Tails’ Gathers A Cast
In case you've never heard of it, George Lucas has had a movie called Red Tails that he's wanted to make for Many, Many years now. Excited by tonight's opener for the Clone Wars animated series? If you're not hosting your own Clone Wars house party in celebration, you might want to check out some of our previous coverage of the show's creation and the movie that, more than anything else, made us want to see the series. We've talked to George Lucas and series director Dave Filoni about the show, as well as looked at some of the fashion secrets of the clone warriors themselves and watched our own Annalee Newitz get turned into a droid. Sean Connery Reviews ‘Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull’
When “ Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ” hit theaters last year, there was one person very clearly absent from the film.
Sure, George Lucas was able to bring back Harrison Ford to play the whip-slinging, womanizing archaeologist. He was even able to find a place for Indy’s old flame, Marion Ravenswood, played by Karen Allen. And yes, Lucas even brought in some new blood, with Cate Blanchett as a cold-blooded Soviet and Shia LaBeouf as Indy’s...
Harrison Ford says George Lucas in “think mode” for INDY V
One thing’s for sure, it won’t be twenty years until we see another INDIANA JONES film with Harrison Ford as the whip cracking adventurer. It’s going to be soon, likely within the next four years, or never again with the aging star who at 66, can’t have that many years left in the tank to lead a summer tentpole spectacular.
Ford told The L.A. Times on Friday that Lucas was “in think mode” for a fifth INDY film, a movie that Spielberg, Lucas & Ford have continuously s
The Star Report: License to print money dept: let's to a 5th Indiana Jones movie!
The gold-plated movie-making machinery of George Lucas is working overtime trying to figure out if it's too soon to ramp up the talk of a fifth Indiana Jones movie, even though the fourth iteration is still in theaters.
Guess what? It's not too early! And why is that, you might ask? It's because the last one, the one about some sort of crystal skull, made $318 million in the U.S. alone and $770 million worldwide. Add in some merchandising and pretty soon you're talking about real money.

Hell Yeah! Steampunk 'Star Wars'
Star Wars has inspired so many corners of pop
culture it seems almost never-ending. And I love these new mutations. I saw them
first at
Cinematical but they originally come from artist
Bjorn Hurri,
and can be found at
Gorilla Art Fare.
They're steampunk versions of some of the more iconic
Star Wars figures, Yoda, Chewbacca, and a Stormtrooper, and I dig the hell
out of them. Even though I'm a fan of the animation style they're using in

Tristan Wilds has been cast in the World War II drama "Red Tails."
