Alternative rock quintet Elbow were awarded the prestigious Mercury Prize on Tuesday for their latest album "The Seldom Seen Kid". They beat out 11 other nominees to take the 20,000-pound (35,000-dollar, 25,000-euro) award, which is for a British or Irish album of any genre released in the year to July. Neil Young will headline the 2009 Big Day Out music festival, it has been confirmed, and the Canadian rocker will play side shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
