Russell Brand Headlining Universal's Drop Dead Fred Remake
Another day, another remake. Universal (didn't we mention them yesterday?) will remake the 1991 comedy Drop Dead Fred, but of course, they're modernizing it. British hotshot actor Russell Brand is set to headline their remake, in the role of the havoc-wreaking imaginary friend that British actor Rik Mayall played. The 1991 original starred Phoebe Cates as a wallflower who loses her job and is forced to live back at home, where she's reunited with her childhood imaginary friend, who promises to...

Universal is resurrecting the 1991 movie Drop Dead Fred as a starring vehicle for Russell Brand , according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dennis McNicholas, a cowriter on the production company’s upcoming Land of the Lost , will write the script based on the original, which starred Phoebe Cates as a woman who loses her job and her husband only to find her world further rocked by the appearance of a rambunctious imaginary friend from her childhood (whom Brand will play in the remake)....
'Drop Dead Fred' remake: Let's not flick boogers at it just yet
Glaaaadiooooolas?! Snotfaces, I am all over this remake of Drop Dead Fred starring Russell Brand on two conditions: One, they keep the gag where Fred's face gets flattened out in the refrigerator (favorite!); and two, Phoebe Cates be involved at least in some capacity -- we don't see enough of her, and she is awesome.

Comic Russell Brand has made a controversial return to British radio - by leaving voicemails for new U.S. president Barack Obama with his pal and co-host Noel Gallagher.

Russell Brand To Star In DROP DEAD FRED Remake
Is there anything that can stop Russell Brand ? The Brit comedian with messy hair and loud mouth trademark is enjoying his climb to become Hollywood’s next big Brit comedy star! Simon Pegg better watch himself.
Before I continue further, let me just say that I don’t find Russell Brand completely hilarious but I don’t wanna fully come to the conclusion that he’s like Will Ferrell who unfortunately, in my opinion, has lost his funny mojo. I’m still curious to see...
Remember Drop Dead Fred? Yeah, They're Going to Remake It
Ack! Hands off my childhood! Sorry for the outburst, but, seriously, it's one thing, I suppose, to take successful '80s franchises like The Karate Kid and update them for a new generation. It's kind of another to just start randomly selecting one-off gems from my youth for the sole purpose of giving someone a starring vehicle. When I first saw that Drop Dead Fred would be remade with Russell Brand in the lead, I immediately thought: "Oh, great. What's next, Beetlejuice?" And then I read this:The...

He says, "She is so hot. There's something about her that drives me wild.
"She's so sexy and enchanting, just look at her form.
"They're going to have to hold me back when we start work. I'll be all over her. I don't know how I'll get any

Even Russell Brand Has to Make Audition Tapes
I'm finally writing a post here that my sister will read. You see, she adores Russell Brand almost as much as Brand adores Cinematical and Scott Weinberg (see image above as proof of this fact). Maybe even more, because unlike most Americans, she was avidly following his British career via his podcast and BBC America. There have been many humbling moments in my Cinematical salad days, but none quite so humiliating as when I told her Brand was in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. "I know. I followed the filming on
