Duffy doesn't like Amy Winehouse comparisons
Celebrifi - 3rd Aug 2008
Duffy : Welsh singer
Duffy gets angry when people compare her
Amy Winehouse.
She says, "It makes me mad that people keep comparing me to
Amy Winehouse and
Dusty Springfield. It's just labelling me as something else, without any respect for the struggle, the determination, focus or artistic vision I have. It's like, 'Whoa, what's that about? Why would I want to be someone else?' Because I really don't. I just want to be me."
But, there are some musicians she doesn't mind being compared to.
She added, "I got compared to
Diana Ross the other day, which was a real compliment. And someone also wrote that I was the female
Otis Redding, which made me feel good because he's a hero of mine."

Duffy: I'm a cheap date
SONGBIRD Duffy has good news for millions of blokes who fancy her.
She might have a No1 album, No1 single and a growing bank balance — but her dating demands are far from extravagant.
The singer told me: “I get p***ed on two glasses of wine. I’m not going to lie, I’m a cheap date.”
No shame in that, ma’am. I can see a queue forming of fellas clutching bottles of Blue Nun.

Welsh singer Duffy unrecognized in the US
Duffy may be a double chart-topper over in the UK, but she’s still completely unknown in the US.
So much so that despite stamping her feet the pretty star was refused entry to REM’s tiny South By Southwest show in Texas.
The veteran rockers played to their smallest audience for more than a decade at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, on Wednesday and the Welsh songbird was determined to see them.
But unimpressed door staff didn’t recognise her and sent her packing despite her pleading to be let in.

Duffy gets her al-bum out
OH Mercy. Here’s the normally demure Duffy flashing her undercarriage – and doesn’t her minder look pleased to see it?
Oddly the singer even appeared to provide her own wolf-whistle.
It happened as she played the Wychwood Music Festival at Cheltenham racecourse.
But judging by her get-up I reckon she thought she was playing at Longleat Safari Park.
